played with the worst night stalker ever yesterday. He picked after I randomed invoker (and said I'd mid) and went safe lane solo.
Never ganked, never used his ult to extend night, never used silence (despite maxing it before his e) Cried for ganks roughly every 30 seconds. At least 2 or 3 of us went to his lane almost constantly to gank for him but he'd fail miserably and let us die while crying for more ganks and pinging incessantly until we came.
Once I got force and blink I was weaving in and out of fights casting spells, trying to avoid damage: he starts flaming me when I leave fights with half HP saying "You hav full hp invoker noob never fight" I saved him repeatedly with tornadoes, deafening blasts, cold snaps, ice walls, etc. but he had no idea what he was doing. Never silenced the enemy earthshaker once and it resulted in us getting destroyed in every teamfight.
That's not completely true, I've seen some awesomely good snipers, and I'm a good sniper myself with around 50-60cs at 10minutes with the machine gun build
Zeus starts with boots. Ok, at least he didn't feed. Then he proceeds to ks every kill.
Chen can't micro. BH has low hp and can't go invis for a while, he doesn't know how to select his dark troll warlord to cast ensnare. And he doesn't use his ulti.
Invoker says he'll play support: ghost walk and tornado. Wat? He ghost walks around teamfights, then say he's "slowing enemies so others can escape".
How the fuck did I drop down to the lowest mmr tier...

I have to pick carry every single game just to win.
It was a lot more fun back then when I could trust my teammates to play carry and I could do support, it was a refreshing change of pace. W/e, I gotta grind at least another 50 games before I get to that point again. *sigh.....
Dunno, my sniper is 8-4 and this is matchmaking against 100-300 win people.
yea dead9 you don't know what you're talking about. I have a 3-1 record with sniper. Granted this may be in what you consider the "low" mmr bracket but its still legit.

That"s the point , they expect a guy playing the first DOTA game to expect them to understand when he has already told that "gys , 1st time plying" ^_^
We expect that players who are willing to learn this game put in the proper effort (bot games, reading, videos) before jumping into a real game with real players who get real upset when you fail, real(ly) hard.

Lack of any tutorial whatsoever in the game itself really hurts newcomers ATM, they need to put at least a very basic one really soon
I just got back into Dota after I get an invite for 2.0. I'm not really great but I've tearing it up with Night Stalker who was one of my favourite heroes. Level's 1 are so bad it's shameful.
This morning I played a game with quite possibly the worst Dazzle I've ever encountered. He was laning the short lane with Slardar and he refused to heal Slardar his exact words were "ur slardar i dont need to babysit u". Slardar died inventiably with such a poor laning partner, against two ranged.
10 minutes into the game not a single ward has been placed and we still have no chicken. All the while this Dazzle is talking shit on all of us telling us we don't know how to play. After about another 15 minutes, he finally get's bored and just leaves the game after going 0-4-1. His items consisted of treads, and a crystalis.
Probably one of the worst people I've ever played with. He spent most of his time doing nothing but farming and being a keyboard warrior.

While yes, it is very true that there is no in game tutorial (which is a shame) there are PLENTY of guides, video's and other resources to at least extract the basic information you need to play a game from.
That information can then be used to play a game or 10 with bots. I suggest you play like 3 heroes tops and cover the basics in game with those.
After that, you can go into a pub game with one of those 3 your feel most comfertable with and start playing. I think most people would not complain if you tell them you've been through guides and played with bots to learn, and you want to test yourself in a real environment now.
If you're any good, the experience from those 10 bot games will make you far better then scrubs who just press 'play game' when they installed dota. Little effort, big payoff.
I rage at noobs who have no clue, but I help people who put effort into a game and show they want to learn.
