I guess looking at pictures is all people do now? lol
Look at the times of these games, then look at the tags next to them. It's kind of hard to not die, let alone win, when you're losing and then it suddenly becomes a 4v5 when the actual feeder leaves.
Believe it or not, my own play isn't the only thing that determines my KDA. How do you know that I was the the one feeding first? What if my team fed them, then the other team started to kill me? There are other factors that go into every statistic, and if you were actually decent, you would look past the statistics and realize that my games were probadbly ruined before I started dying like crazy trying to play in a 4v5 situation. Hence, "leaver" and "rage afker" games.

Lets say you win 80% of the time when you play with all friends on skype. Let's say this 80% win rate happens after 20 games. So you win 16/20 times. The null hypothesis is if playing with friends didn't matter is that you should win 50% of the time; 10/20.
Using a binomial distribution for BI(20,0.5) we get a P-value: 2*(Pr(X=16)+Pr(X=17)+Pr(X=18)+Pr(X=19)) = 0.0118. So this tells us that yes, you can be confident that playing with friends does make a difference if you do win 16 games out of 20 with them.
However, running the same analysis with only 8 wins out of 10 games gives us a P-value of 0.11; so you couldn't be 95% confident that playing with friends made you win - so we cannot rule out the null hypothesis.

I just realized I've never had a Phantom Lancer that wasn't completely worthless the entire game on my team. Weird.

I never ever ever ever will win more than 10 games in a row ever again. The complete and utter horror that you get matched with is....well....it was unfathomable until now. I can't even express how utterly hopeless, stupid, and insulting the people you get paired with are. I can only assume that you all know what I am talking about.

since na'vi vs darer i've seen russian junglepudges in every single game and none of them actually know how to do it. makes me sad
|
It's a freekill everytime, just wander around their jungle at 5min, poof, he's dead. :D

Played a game earlier today. The other team picked a very magic heavy lineup early on and our team already had Beastmaster and 2 supports and we needed a hard carry so I went Antimage because he has very good spell resistance and I was going to lane with a Witch Doctor, which is a decent lane. Our Witch Doctor proceeds to constantly auto attack the creep wave despite us telling him not to and does no harass. He says "I would stop auto attacking if you stop taking all the last hits." As if Witch Doctor needs farm. Doesn't matter, I get rush Battlefury at 15 minutes after a poor-mans, slightly delayed, but not terrible given the circumstance ( missed some CS because of the pushed lane and his lack of harassment ). The other team was very bad, I get a kill on a wandering CM and a Lion on the other team who gave 2 early kills to me while I was in the jungle. However, I also get ganked twice, one due to my own fault ( wanted to finish off a creep camp and then blink out, they hit me right before I blinked out, but I had a sense they were looking for me in our jungle ) and another simply because we had no wards and I got completely caught out. This happens to the rest of our team periodically and we beg Witch Doctor to purchase wards. He says I should buy wards because "Carries make more money, thus they should be the ones that buy wards." I kindly explain to him what the support role entails and how Witch Doctor is a solid support hero because he is very item independent. He said that it was his style as if it is equally optimized. I carried by the end of the game OK regardless ( Manta, Battlefury, Heart, Treads finishing a Butterfly by 35-40 minutes ) and we rolled the team, but as someone who frequently plays support, I was appalled at how oblivious the moron was.
P.S. We also had a shitty Rikimaru player who picked after everyone else ( yeah, terrible pick ) and just stealthed everywhere.

Sure there isnt a 100% chance that a person with 60 wins is going to be worse then a person with 500 wins, but the chances are WELL WELL WELL in favor of the person who has played 1k games being better then the person who has around 100...
Considering this is beta, most people will not have more than 1 account.
i assume that comments like these are from people with low win counts who rage HARD when they lose, blame others, and rarely solo que.

|
There are plenty of players with years of experience and thousands of games that are simply terrible. Plus 50 games is enough for someone to reach somewhere close to his actual skill in MMR. You absolutely cannot relate number of games to skill level in Dota. Do you expect people to play a thousand games before they move up the ladder if they are actually decent? Asking to match people by both skill level and number of games is insane, it's hard enough to match teams well right now.
|
The only thing you can really say from someone's number of wins is whether they might be completely new. Even the most terrible MoM+5-other-orb-rushing only-invis-picking ursa-is-OP-thinking player is better than a completely new to ARTS player. At least if someone has 50 or so wins then they aren't worse than the affore-mentioned terrible yet experienced player.
But the relationship between experience and skill is pretty accurately modelled by a logarithmic function. Very important when you don't have any, but if you do have some it quickly becomes nigh-worthless.

wow, an Invoker from the opposing team did this last night :D
I was confuse when there are like 6 notification in a row that the radiant couriers have been killed
and when we finally push their mid barrack he buy like 20-30 carier and send them to die

Has anyone else also encountered what I call the "Lycan paradox"?
We all know this hero is probably the best hero to stomp pubs with. His jungling is easy and fast. He can farm anywhere with ridiculous speed. He can solo roshan the moment he gets vlads + medallion. Once he gets a few items he doesn't need to worry about his mana ever again. He pushes like a beast. He's easy to use. When he gets a BKB he's ridiculously strong in midgame. He scales well into late game. Almost no one tries to stop his farm in pubs. With his ult + BKB he can escape almost any situation. And every friend that I've gotten to try Lycan has done at least above average with him.
And yet, despite all of this, I have literally not encountered a single Lycan who was even halfway decent. Not only do people almost never pick him, but the few people who do have absolutely no idea how to play him. They lane with him. The few lycans that do jungle are so bad that they end up lower level than the dual lanes. They build retarded items on him. They don't roshan. They don't push.
The more I think of it the more it blows my mind why I never see him.

When I pick Void: Yeah, fuck you, go solo on lane. Wtf, why don't you have farm. Noob, report.
When someone on the enemy team picks Void: Freefarm, nice feeding, comfy supports all around.
Not fair >_>

Game starts, 4 players pick Invoker Furion (me) Enigma BH.
BH: I think we have too many carries...
I should have known we were gonna lose right then
5th player picks Drow. Long story short the Drow and BH are typical pub Drows and BHs. They feed, they can't last hit, they can't farm and they are always trying to gank despite being fucking useless without items.

I'm on a 10 game losing streak !! YEEEEEEEE. This matchmaking system is working very well.
edit: 11 now. I just finished playing a game where an invoker had fun using tornado while i was inside my ult ( i was void ) so i couldnt hit the enemies. I reported him and i hope he gets banned.
