Naturally I jumped at the chance to have an automated MMR system that could keep track of our wins and losses and rankings, which would allow us to kick bad players like Kollin to maintain the high level that our TLIH has always aspired for. Well, not really. My first concern was exactly that; we have tried rankings and fancy algorithms and what not in the past and it has never worked well. Then ixmike told me that he could disable all those rankings and win/loss tracking and all that jazz. Yay. So what does this mean? - Fancy client - Fancy chat rooms - Easier to start games - hosts can 'start' games which people can sign up to, and it will notify everyone when a game is full - Multiple games can run simultaneously at ease - We can still do our own balancing - No ranking, no points, no win-loss tracking whatsoever - Ability to warn people for being dicks or feeding endlessly like Kollin - People can .challenge others, setting each of them as a captain, and they pick players out of a pool of people who sign up to that game - And much more, as they always say ~ So what do you need to do? 1) Head over to www.ixdl.net and sign up with a sensible username, preferably the same as your TeamLiquid username. 2) Post here saying 'my ixdl name is such-and-such and I would like a vouch.' 3) Wait for one of us to vouch you. 4) Download the client from here: http://ixdl.net/downloads/ixdl.zip 5) Set your location set to North America and login. It doesn't matter if you're not actually in NA. 6) If you logged in on NA like I said, you should automatically join the TLIH league if you have been vouched in. If you logged in through somewhere else you will need to manually join the TLIH room by going through Leagues -> TLIH. If the TLIH option is greyed out, you have not been vouched yet. (There may or may not be a bug right now where you can't join the league even if you're vouched if you log on from a place other than NA. Circumvent this by logging through NA as I described.) Useful links regarding the client are as follows: Getting Started at IXDL and FAQ. Any questions? | ||
