I had a g9x but ended up swapping it for a spawn due to the mouse making a high pitched noise. It turns out the spawn makes the same noise, Apparently all mice make that sound nowadays. The sensor on the spawn is so much less steady/reliable/solid, it's hard to explain but it feels like it's lagging compared to the g9x. I'm going down to the store today to swap it back to a new g9x, My local store still has plenty left. Look around on the internet, you might get lucky.

If your mice are making a strange noise, either you have an incredible hearing capacity, or your pc's got some other problems xD

Yeah, that's not your mouse that's making that noise. I know exactly what sound you're talking about, a constant high pitched whine that only occurs when your PC is powered on. For me i only hear it when i listen very closely, and it gets louder the closer i get to my surge protector. Probably one of the devices in there that's making the noise.

But it is kind of pointless to debate this stuff for two reasons. The sound is not very noticable, it's a high pitched sound and not all people have perfect hearing (in this case I certainly wish I didn't). Debating a sensor is hopeless, people have different expectations, preferences, etc. Personally I think the laser sensor in the g9x is the absolute best I've ever tried even with it's 10% built in acceleration. It doesn't have that ghostly, lagging feel of other optical mice. For OP I would strongly advice against the spawn for the reasons I already mentioned. Another reason not to get this mouse is the fact that it has 3 DPI presets: 800, 1800 and 3500. If you don't use one of these, too bad for you! It's not possible to adjust the DPI to a 4th setting.

It doesn't have that ghostly, lagging feel of other optical mice. I have no idea what you are talking about, literally never heard this mentioned before. Perhaps you left your spawn and other mice at 125hz or something?

Logitech mice are known to do this. See http://jdc.koitsu.org/logitech/ Had to ditch mine since it was too annoying to deal with on a daily basis.

well my Spawn is doing the exact same thing. So it's not only Logitech mice that has the problem. @Cyro Like I already wrote, a sensor that you think is perfect might be horrible for others, it's a matter of preference. Heck some guys even prefer mouse acceleration turned on.

Yeah but the laggy feeling your are describing is something very objective, it's not user dependent, and I swear my spawn cursor is not lagging more than my sensei's at all.

@Cyro In some cases yes.Like I already wrote, a sensor that you think is perfect might be horrible for others, it's a matter of preference. Heck some guys even prefer mouse acceleration turned on. Indeed, but that's finely controlled mouse acceleration. The g9x doesn't have finely controlled acceleration - it has wild sensor-level inconsistencies that scale with tracking speed. You do realize the G9X (with no grip) is one of the most popular mice across korean SC2 progamers right? They must all be on crack. Yeah but the laggy feeling your are describing is something very objective, it's not user dependent, and I swear my spawn cursor is not lagging more than my sensei's at all. Lag is perhaps the wrong word. Ghostly, behind, slow, etc. I feel like repeating myself. A mouse that you perceive to have a perfect sensor might not feel right for everyone else. I'm simply comparing it to my G9X

It's a good thing that precision doesn't really matter for sc2 compared to many other things. Lag is perhaps the wrong word. Ghostly, behind, slow, etc. That's exactly what "lag" means. A mouse that you perceive to have a perfect sensor might not feel right for everyone else. Sure, but there are some things are are down to preference, and some things that are literally bad

They're shaped like the storm spawn/xornet. Only way better .They are ~30% longer, palm grip built and the 3200 and 8200 (maybe others too) have questionable sensors, i'm guessing you have one? ;p

Indeed they are. It's a good thing that precision doesn't really matter for sc2 compared to many other things. From that statement I deduce the korean progamers are not the only ones on crack, which kind of makes it pointless to continue this discussion :-) Have a nice day sir.
