Yes, while in edit scene mode hold shift and resize it as you like.

jesus christ 6k bitrate for 720p? you wont be getting any viewers. lol. If you are not a twitch partner (imo), you should really stick to 720p with lower bitrate so that people can watch you wherever and whenever rather than only 2-3 people being able to watch you because the others dont have enough bandwidth to do so.

Thanks for the tip. I was just testing it, and wanted to make sure it was working OK as well as "benchmarking" my PC and bandwidth to make sure I'd be able to handle it.

What you say does make sense however, and I'll be looking into lowering the bitrate. Thanks!

OBS seems to be really weird in that aspect for me too, i used to stream at 1500 bitrate and i would usually get no lagg, but every once in a while it would just start lagging like crazy and i would have a huge delay, it would start dropping frames too, i'm pretty sure my pc wasn't overheating or anything like that, but basically i had to lower the bitrate to 1000 and that no longer seems to be happening, just it's pretty weird that it only happened sometimes, and not constantly.

when streaming on OBS my frame counter on the bottom of the OBS window does not go above 30FPS even when I set the FPS above 30FPS. Can anyone help?

EDIT: I'm an idiot. I found out how.

bitrate changes depending on how much there is on the screen, this was probably during a game where your internet could not provide enough bandwidth to stream which created a restriction of bandwidth for your game, resulting in the delay, i would set it to like 1300.

I've been trying to be able to stream in 1080p, but when I do, SC2 starts lagging a bit.

These are my specs:
Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz
16 GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GTX 680
Samsung 830 SSD
and a 2 TB HDD

as far as I know that shouldn't be the problem. When streaming the load on the processor and the memory isn't anything weird (ram around 40% and cpu around 50-60%)

Then I thought it might be the internet connection, but I have a 100/100 Mb internet connection and when streaming it isn't even close to its maximum capacity.

So now I'm not sure what is really causing the lag when playing SC2. It is playable, but it is still annoying... :s
I think it has something to do with the stalls/min SC2 has when I'm streaming. Because when I press Ctrl+Alt+F I notice that there are around 10 stalls per min and then something between 200 and 2500 ms.

These are the settings I've been using in OBS:
+ Show Spoiler +

Encoding:
-Quality Balance: 10
-Max Bitrate (kb/s): 2000
-Buffer Size (kbit): 2000
-Codec: AAC
-Bitrate: 128
I've played around a bit with the bitrate (set it to 4000 for example, but the difference was almost unnoticable), but I'm not really sure what I should set it to.

Broadcast Settings:
-The only thing I'm not sure of is FMS URL: EU:Amsterdam, NL

Video:
-Custom: 1920x1080
-Resolution Downscale: None
-FPS: 30 (I've tried 60 but that makes no difference)
-Disable Aero at startup: no

Advanced:
-Use Multithreaded Optimizations: Yes
-Process Priority Class: High
-x264 CPU Preset: veryfast
everything below that is disabled

I hope someone might be able to help me. Thanks!

EDIT: for what it's worth: I am using the 32-bit version of OBS, when I try the 64-bit version it gives an error: Could not launch the application (0xc000007b)

I think we are gonna need some numbers on what you mean by "lag."

Lag denotes an internet latency problem, but the rest of your post implies you have a framerate issue, so I am asking what kind of framerates you are getting when this is a problem?

It is not a framerate problem, the fps counter you see when you press Ctrl+Alt+F is between 150-200. It just feels a bit laggy. Sometimes it's less, then it gets worse for a few seconds and then it gets better again and so on. I think I could best describe it as a noticeable framedrop, though the framerate does not lower :s

If you want me to give some numbers, what kind of numbers and where should I find them?

Well I hate the in game FPS monitor with a passion. I tend to think that FRAPS does a much better job.

I tend to think whats going on is natural since a 3770k at 3.5ghz will only see about 38 FPS minimums in lategame 1v1 conflicts so adding streaming on top of that is going to reduce framerate pretty significantly as well.

You should probably be disabling Aero when running OBS though. I dont think its at the heart of the problem though.

I am also kind of wondering if process class High is part of the issue. Maybe try setting that to normal?

It is an fps issue. The frames are inconsistent. I had the same issue. Enable V-Sync and you should be fine.

Input lag, inconsistent frame time etc and overall framerate hit is pretty much expected, enough to be noticable and annoying even when you are playing at 200fps, Vsync doesnt really fix that i think, just makes it look smoother

If you're using monitor capture, try using game capture instead. There always seems to be some loss of framerate when streaming via monitor capture regardless of the situation (I have a 2600k @ 4.5GHz and I'd still notice lower framerate in very lightweight games), but streaming feels pretty transparent when using game capture.

Can someone help me figure out the best settings for my set up? I've been streaming fine until recently, stream starting to lag and stutter every 30 seconds or so. I haven't changed anything within my settings, maybe they're just not optimized correctly.

GPU: GeForce 9800 GTX+ (Need a new video card, I know)
RAM: G-Skill 8gb 2133mhz
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-Pro
