So this never happened to me before this day and since i reinstalled the game but this did nothing. The problem here is, my friend quit playing SC2 so he let me borrow his account to play 2v2 and so I been playing for a while now. Last week though I was not able to, every time I clicked on multi player option I can't see the 2v2 option or 1v1 or 3v3 nothing, I see the little loading thing and it stays stuck there FOREVER. I waited there for almost an hour and it didn't load.
I've tried every day for a week and nothing has changed, I have reinstalled like I mentioned before, I have not done anything to my computer, nothing has changed hardware or software wise so I'm out of ideas as to why this is happening.
I tried the game at my friends house/computer and the game worked just fine, I played a couple of games and everything went great. Went back to my place and back to not working.
I would greatly appreciate any help.

As a disclaimer, I have no fucking clue.
But Blizzard specifically disallows account sharing on all of their games. It's against the rules, and can result in a temporary or permanent ban if it is discovered, and as far as I know they can also lock accounts to specific IPs, or from specific IPs, as I have had this done to my WoW account when I was hacked. Since this is not a hardware or software problem, there is literally nothing tech support could do for you. Contact Blizzard by opening a support ticket on battle.net.
For why-the-fuck-not's sake, run the repair tool. You'll find it in the main SC2 install folder -> support -> Repair.exe.

Yeah I know Blizzard doesn't allow that which is WHY I came here and asked so directly, the thing is this has never been an issue with SC2 in the past. My friend stopped playing MONTHS ago so as far as blizz is concerned THIS is his new IP.
My other friends share SC2/WoW accounts all the time, they all live in the states so they can do that specially with WoW because after a while I couldn't log in to their wow accounts (Like I did in the past with their permission) because it would block the account. This doesn't happen with SC2 though, you log in just fine but when I go to multi player it just sits there loading and loading without ever accomplishing anything.
I also ran the repair tool last night and it didn't do anything to solve my problem, I forgot to mention that. This helped a lot when I used to play WoW but this did nothing to fix the problem, I checked around the SC2 folder for other things to do but there is nothing to mess around with. Is not like WoW where you would back up and delete folders or get rid of stuff and any problems you had with the game would be solved, SC2 seems to be less hmm permissive in that regard so I don't know what to do.
Anyone else cares to help?

That is an intriguing problem indeed. Have you perhaps tested this on a third computer? Perhaps another computer that you own yourself. If it works on that then the problem is likely not to be with IP ban. Another measure I would check is whether it works in a different person's house. If for some reason it works on at your friend's house, will it work at another person's? You can just simply put the entire SC2 folder onto a external HDD and test it that way. No need to go through the installation process. What I'm suggesting is to try and identify the issue even further. I have a friend's SC2 account myself that I use as a smurf or for off-racing as Terran in 1v1, and I haven't had any issues with it thus far.

Yea I think this is the only thing that could be, It has to be the computer can't be ip ban or anything because then the game just wouldn't work at all. I have an extra HDD I was going to install windows in, I'll try there and if that doesn't work I'll go try it on somebody else's pc. If that doesn't fix it I'm out of ideas and the last resource would be to format but nothing else is giving me trouble Just SC2 multi player.

I had this same issue recently, I would login and then try to queue for multiplayer (ladder and custom) and it would "hang" and then kick me off. When I tried to log back in, it wouldn't allow me stating that the bnet service was down. On top of this, it seemed to temporarily cause my entire internet to go down (couldn't go to any websites).
The kicker was that I logged in and was able to play just fine on my laptop. On my PC though, it kept glitching the way you described. I tried reformatting (needed to anyways) and it was still doing it. Repair tool does nothing.
It eventually fixed itself though, and I'm not sure / can't remember why. I believe it might have to do with the fact I was using an old download of the installer from my storage harddrive, and maybe redownloading SC2 entirely fixed it.
|
Well I can't even queue for any multi player because it just sits there loading, click on the MP tab and does nothing all day. I'll download the new installer and have it there in case I reformat the hard drive. Thanks.

i had the same problem i cannot remember how i fixed it it would not let me play it on my laptop it would work on my pc and my other laptop but not on this one i tried everything and i think it just randomly started working one day... sorry i can be of no help id say go for the reformat make sure your firewall is not blocking it and reset your router which im sure youve tried all the above maybe make sure that ports open idl

Well, you not alone with this kind of issue. I think this is the same issue: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/375109901 (thread is derailed at the end, just ignore that). The second blue poster asks the OP to contact Blizzard Support which I'd also recommend. Just ask why your friend can't play on his account at your house, and that your account works fine (I'm assuming this is correct).
|
I may have had a problem like this before.
Similarly to the eternal patch problem (well, not really), I had an eternal logon error. Every day for about a week or two I tried it again, then one day it just worked. Haven't had the issue since.

So I really need to ask, are you playing 2v2 with yourself?
Either way I'd say submit a ticket directly to blizzard. Seriously, your post makes it seem like you're using your friend's account as a second one to play 2v2 on with yourself.

2 questions...
1st: whats your latency to the specific server? you can try pinging the blizzard login server for the region sc2 your trying to play (ie ping w/e the host is for na bnet login) to get an estimate of your latency.
2nd: when you did the reinstall of sc2, did you remove the appdata folders for the game? if you just uninstalled then reinstalled without removing the left over files/folders, then your reinstall was virtually "useless". although as you stated you had no sw/hw changes or issues b4 this issue happened, so i dont see how your install could have really been the cause of the issue to begin with.
all in all, you need to either contact blizzard or provide us with better info

So I guess I can add some more details:
1) I play on NA server and always have, I usually have 120-150 latency during the day and 70-90 during the night and it plays fine even during afternoons.
2) I deleted everything from every folder that had anything SC2 related, nothing was left there when I did the reinstall.
3) My friend lives in Panama and I live here in Venezuela, we share the account since he doesn't use it any more. I log in everything goes well, I can even talk to people I have on Real ID, I can play the campaign and everything BUT multi player. It's the only function of the game that doesn't work. Everything on the Multi Player tab doesn't work.
4) Also No I am not playing 2v2 with myself <.<, I play 2v2 random which just pairs you up with random people. I don't have an account of my own so I use this one as "mine".
5) I tried another friends account on my computer and it worked fine, he's from the states if that makes any difference. I thought it might be a problem with the account switching from ip's all over the place but I don't think so, not after my other friends account worked.
I don't know how I could ask in the blizz forums hey my friends account from panama doesn't work on my computer here in venezuela :D any idea how to fix it? and I don't know how to contact them via phone or whatever, can I just call the US whatever customer support?. Is it a free call? I've never done that.
Really appreciate all the help, I haven't formatted the other HD but I will tonight and I will try a fresh windows/SC2 install there see if it works. I'm trying to get my friend from the states to try out the account see if he has any issues with it and I'll probably go to a friends house and try both accounts at his place see if any show the same problem.
I'll let you guys know if I fix it or find out why this happens. Thanks again.
