1v1 chat options?

please forgive and redirect me if this is answered elsewhere. is there a way to enable voice chatting between opponents in a 1v1 custom game? i want to play with a friend and just shoot the shit while we fight. thanks, guys!

if that doesnt work try shift+enter

You go to options (F10 ingame) then voice, activate talking then pick your microphone and either push to talk or voiceactivated, and your pretty much good to go.

Im pretty sure the voice chat is only to allies in team games, and never to 1v1 enemies. Ive also never seen it used, EVER, since the launch of the game even though i play every day, must be pretty bad

its never used because its like CS quality. Sound is muffled and really low audio quality. But i guess that comes with a game that uses very little internet.

Yeah you can just use an outside program like skype, ventrilo, raidcall, etc if you're only playing with friends in customs.

Not sure if this will work but you could try being in a party with your friends before you start, and when you go into the game it may permit voice chat kinda like XBL does. I know if I'm in a XBL party with a friend and we get put on diff teams in COD or something we can still chat with each other, but no clue if it's the same in SC2
