Hey guys, I'm helping my friend build his new gaming computer, think I've finally convinced him to give SC2 and DIII a try soon He's going to be ordering the parts soon per my suggestions and before I tell him what to get I want to make sure that everything is compatible and that this all looks right. Pretty sure it is but I want to double check just to be safe. He already ordered his computer case, mouse, and keyboard, and will be using his TV as a monitor via HDMI hookup. Any suggestions or if you guys know where I can find these parts at better rates please let me know, thanks in advance!

Do your friend have an old HDD to use instead, $150 for 500GB is shockingly expensive at the moment. The power supply is quite expensive, you won't be needing 600W anyway, a 450/500W power supply would be fine.

Also note that the graphics card is the non titanium version (but its still good enough for starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 of course) If he plan to play any recent or future high requirement games he could be disappointed with the performance.

P.S. Link of motherboard doesn't work.
Sure.

Poor choice of components.

The motherboard link is broken but purchasing a $120 H67 motherboard is not a wise decision.

H67 can't run memory at 1600MHz so I'm not sure why you are purchasing 1600MHz. Not to mention the difference in higher frequency memory is negligible. You might as well get 8gb for $7 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

A Caviar Black is basically identical in performance to that of all the other modern 7200 RPM HDDs. 500gb 7200 RPM HDDs are about $90, why would you pay an extra $60 for an extra two years of warranty ...?

Since you won't be doing SLI, purchasing a 600w unit is not a wise decision. Also purchasing a Coolermaster Silent Pro M600 when there are much better units on sale is sort of stupid.. A Seasonic X750 is much much better for only $10 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087 Antec Truepower New 550w is modular as well and is less expensive at $60: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=36262&promoid=1055 Corsair TX750M is also modular and better at the same price: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=62826&promoid=1055

GTX 560 for $195 is overpriced. A Radeon HD6870 offers similar performance for more than $30 less: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131378 If you want to remain with Nvidia, step up to a GTX 560 Ti for $240, EVGA -AR (lifetime warranty): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130610

The Biostar H67+ for $80 ($60 after mail in rebate) is a good option right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138296

Most of Coolermaster power supplies are shit. I've already given you plenty of options for a power supply. There's also the Antec High Current Gamer 620 for $60: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=56788&promoid=1055

Hitachi is not Samsung. Hitachi is owned by Western Digital. There are only two major consumer HDD manufacturers which are Seagate and Western Digital. You don't need to stray from Western Digital if you don't want to ... they have a Caviar Blue line as well you know...: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769

Bought the Antec High Current Gamer myself around 3 weeks ago and its really nice so far.

The installation of it was more than easy, also the Cable management looks good and makes the inside of your computer way more clear.

The good is that you come from the US and have to pay only 60dollar, i payed around 70euro ;P

about the mostherboard and gpu, yea SkyR said about everything and it would be a wise decission to save some money at your PSU and Mobo and use it in the GPU and Ram, take the components he showed you they are good, well personally i would prefer an other GTX560TI model since i have bad experience with 1 fan ones, the gigabyte, asus and msi got 2 Fans on it.

regards.

lol, my bad. linked the wrong hard drive but that one was good too. and the caviar blue line is good too so i might suggest that one then.

PSU i just havent heard anything about Antec so i wasnt sure about them but it is a really good price.

But Biostar I have definitely heard is less than reliable so I don't think I want to try one of those.

this is a pretty good motherboard that is on sale. antec is more reliable then cooler master. that power supply is pretty good. cooler master is pretty bad for power supplies. for graphics card, u should follow skyR's advice.

You can pay more for an ASUS H67 if it makes you feel better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131713

The MSI P67 G45 as suggested by FlyingLigerz is unnecessary since you won't be overclocking and it's horribly overpriced at $140 anyways.

yeah that ASUS H67 mobo seems like itd be better. Reasonable price for what he'd need. Any other takes on it? Looks good to me but more teamliquid reviews are always welcomed
