I think this is very bad,
So I start my computer today and it gives me a prompt screen i have never seen before. It said please chose between your CD-rom hard drive ( I think ) and my hard drive disk ( I think ) I can't quite remember the names of them, but after I randomly chose one my computer...with the sound off...was like woop! woop! woop! woop! It sounded like a fire alarm or somesort. I turned it right off, tried it again, and it happened again.
I gave it sometime and tried to start my computer again. It started normally and I went on with my normal activities. Until the next day (today)
Minutes ago I started up my computer again and it gave me the chose your hard drive screen again. I picked the top choice and then my computer started normally. I feel my computer is near the edge of its life after seeing this, but when it is on it runs the exact same as it did when I bought it. I am not technical AT ALL so please if you give me advice on anything technical please explain it as simple as you can.
Computer Specs:
HP Laptop 2 years old AMD windows vista I think it's called a pavillion

How many beeps did it make? Long or short beeps? Usually its code from the motherboard BIOs that something is loose or broken. Plus if you can narrow down the model number, usually its on the bottom of the laptop or under the battery if you take it off.

Wait, is it coming from his speakers or from the CPU speaker itself??? CPU speakers dont go "woop woop"
I have never heard of this Choose between CD drive or Hard drive because we are taking one away or whatever.
This sounds like malware.

I carry my laptop around a lot so maybe something is loose.

If the screen comes up I'll take a video with my phone. Reading the article now Railxp, thanks.

Eh. Honestly.
Thats a motherboard fault code.
So listen to the beeps.
normally its a 4 beep code. short and or longs. Something is wrong with your mobo. Just by what you said, it saying choose between your cd or hard drive? Possible, IDE / SATA, ram, since it turns on I would say the psu is okay. Could be the integrated graphics. Could be the CPU itself. Um, Most likely it has to do with the ram being loose.
Under the laptop there should be a small little compartment with one two screws. Undo the cover, and CAREFULLY remove the ram, and put it back in, one at a time and try to boot your computer back up. Do that for how ever many ram chips you have. (One at a time) Might be a faulty ram module, which could lead to voltage issues, or other things.
(Just off the top of my head. Haven't had a bios code pop in a LONG while)

Ok,
So it happened again and I recorded a short video from my camera. I'll try and figure out how to upload it today and hopefully get it up by tonight.
It doesn't seem like a code at all. I listened to it for like a minute, but it was super loud and repetitive. No code.

yea....It is does repeat.
4 high pitched, LOUD tones, over and over. =)
