Hey guys,
I'm kinda embarassed to ask questions about setting up my router and modem. I know that you can connect them and it shouldn't be a problem. But now, I have this issue in which my new router can't seem to "get in touch" with my pro link modem. The problem I think is that the modem has as password or username that I have forgotten therefore, I cannot configure any stuff in it.
Now, I'm just going to ask one simple question for the meantime. (once that is answered, I'll continue on with further questions if google can't help me or I can't help myself)
If I hard reset my modem, will the configuration as well as password be lost? So if I can reset the modem then it should have the default username and password right? I think I should get far after that.
Thanks man and I hope you tolerate my stupid question.

Hitting the reset button on the modem sets it back to factory default.
All settings will be lost but it should also lose any usename and password that may have been required to edit such settings. The default password for it should be sticker ed on it somewhere usually the bottom.

Once you can get into the modem you can get your username and password from your isp to connect to the Internet, usually it's the email and your password for it.

thanks semantics, yeah done that and good thing I'm still connected to the net except now.. the problem is that the WAN tab on my modem is lost, I might ask for further help later once I've exhausted all my resources (ie goolge) in the process. I don't know if the router + modem can successfully co-exist because as of the moment I'm connecting my comp directly to the modem to access net.

Some modems are modems/routers and for them to play nice with routers they need their internal routing turned off.

Alright here's the real problem now..
After getting the factory settings on my modem, I just lost a lot of tabs

Instead of that, I'm looking at this

Any Ideas, it's a Pro Link that uses PPoE (fucking ancient) and I've called the tech and they have no idea what they are doing..
