Have you tried using a VNC?

VNC?
Just to clarify : Here are some things I'd like to be able to do
Parents tell me they want to watch a show, instead of going downstair and bringing my keyboard + mouse with me, I just open the show for them upstair. But I don't want to disconnect the user downstair (beause then i need to go downstair anyway to relog them in)

Virtual network computing, you control the other computer through a desktop client or browser.

Is it possible?
Depends what "decent fps" means

Ok, does it come with Windows or do I need to download one? If yes, any recommendation? Are they free?

You need to download. TightVNC is probably the most popular one.

Is it possible? Depends what "decent fps" means Above 30? Maybe just 20?

I've tried the remote desktop from Windows but i can't have both computers logged on at the same time! You can hack it. It will then allow multiple users to login on the same machine at the same time. If you do this, you will get on with the normal Remote Desktop Connection program of Windows.
The idea about the hack is that Windows Server actually allows it. It's just disabled in normal Windows 7. The hack just flips a bit in the relevant file to enable the code that's already there.
I don't quite remember what I used myself, but this might be it: http://www.raymond.cc/blog/enable-remote-desktop-connection-in-windows-7-home-premium/

The VNC works so I guess I dont need to hack ^^ thnx though
Another question :I'm looking for something to measure the power drawn from my computer. Google suggests kill-a-watt, but that device is only sold in the US. I was wondering what's the exact name of that device (And not kill-a-watt, since my local shops don't have them)
|
It is called a kill-a-watt.

Yea, but unfortunately, Canadian Tire, Rona and other canadian stores do not hold kill-a-watt. What would be the name of the device, if any other?

Hey guys,
so a about 2 weeks ago i posted here for some suggestions which helped me alot and did come up with that build
+ Show Spoiler +CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K 4x 3.40GHz So.1155 BOX MoBo: ASRock Z77 Pro4-M Intel Z77 So.1155 Dual Channel DDR3 mATX Retail RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3-1600 DIMM CL9 Dual Kit HDD: 1000GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST1000DM003 64MB 3.5" (8.9cm) SATA 6Gb/s SDD: 120GB Samsung 840 Basic Series 2.5" (6.4cm) SATA 6Gb/s TLC Toggle (MZ-7TD120BW) Cooler: CoolerMaster 212 Evo Power Supply: 530 Watt be quiet! Pure Power L7 Non-Modular 80+ Drive: LG Electronics GH24NS95 DVD-RW SATA 1.5Gb/s intern schwarz Bulk Case: Zalman Z9-U3 GPU: (From old pc) Radeon HD6770
So there are now 3 minor problems i have.
1: If the pc reboots or i boot normaly, after the ASRock logo before the Windows booting logo appeares instead of the windows logo there will be just a blinking cursor on the top left and nothing will happen. To solve this i have either to reset a few times or press f11 for booting options. And instead of choosing a boot option i just have to hit escape. If i choose my ssd or such it will again give me the blinking cursor. I know that it is a problem with windows having with ssd (had to admin cmd.exe before w7 install with disk part method) and i know that i have to do the startup repair 3 times but i just did one because it took sooooo long. Is it just this problem that the cursor still appeares sometimes? (i cant do the missing 2 startup repairs. If i want to it will say that it doesnt fit with my current installation so i have to do the next 2 the next time 1 clean up the whole system?)
2: The Temp display on the front does work but it shows me about 10-15° C lower temp than monitore software (in this case asrock tuning utility). I guess it has to do with wrong placement of the sensor? Where do i have to place it exactly?
3: While on temp topic: My hardware monitoring software (asrock tuning utility in this case) shows me about 42-48°C on average when playing games (D3, LoL) + running random streams on twitch on 2nd monitor on 480p. Settings of the games are very low for this spec (lol all low, no shadow etc/ d3 all lowest). Isnt the temp to high for my pc spec? Because i read all the time about similar specs who run very high - ultra settings with flawless 60fps. If i minimize the stream it runs on 60fps but i think on this settings it should run on 60 all the time even with stream maximized on 2nd monitore?
Thanks in advance and sorry that its a rather long post

Why are you comparing C (celcius, measure of temperature) with framerate? And what number are you monitoring?
|
This was just like a sidenote. I think on this spec + as the parts are super fresh i should be able to run a game on pretty good settings + a random stream on a 2nd monitor and keep 60 fps, right?
For temp: I was thinking about 35°C while games running instead of about 45°C

Check your FPS without stream, you should have 300fps in LoL. I have 400-600 at start of game
For temp: I was thinking about 35°C while games running instead of about 45°C
What are you measuring? The inside of your case? A CPU core? overall CPU temp (pretty useless), GPU temp, air inside case temp? (if so, where in case?)
|
The CPU core i mean. Im a little paranoid about temps because my last Pc always ran over 60°C which in the end did not kill my cpu but surely did harm the overall system a bit. Thats why i bought a seperate cooler instead of going with the boxed from the cpu itself eventhough im not overclocking (yet)

There's a ton of temperature monitors in the CPU, you should use individual software like realtemp or hwinfo for checking core temps
|
Did you update the BIOS version? If you go into the BIOS, the ASRock board can go online by itself and download the newest BIOS if it's connected to a router.

I want to buy a new laptop. It is supposed to be a replacement for my desktop and my portable aswell.
At home i want to place it on my desk (preferably closed) and plug my 27" monitor / mouse / keyboard into it .
This should be easily doable, right? Is there anything i need to watch out for?
