Make sure you are ticking the box for 'clean installs.' I haven't seen this kind of instability in a long time...frankly disappointed by nVidia's recent efforts. I won't touch the 326.xx either b/c of the problems with 1440p panels.

Trying to think if it might be worth the effort before i replace my borked 560ti Overclocking the CPU is not going to affect the performance of the integrated graphics chip. However, SC2 is far more dependent on CPU than GPU for FPS in situations where FPS may drop down (mostly late-game battles), so overclocking the CPU is definitely worth it for SC2, regardless of what graphics chip you use.

As far as I remember, though, people haven't been able to get very large overclocks on that IGP.

And they still have problems running 4K monitors within Windows (even though they say the most recent drivers fixes this issue). There's an issue with HDMI? By default they use 16-235 for everything, but you can flick that over in the driver. I think it's a shame that everybody who was not driven crazy by washed out colors for long enough to figure out or poke enough people to see what it was has to live with streams and decoded videos that look terrible

I think in the past the toggle didn't stick or something along those lines so you had to use a third party application to "force" it so to speak. Its really, really stupid anyway since everything has EDID these days.

![]() I dont think i'll bother with OCing the iGPU, seems to much of a risk for little reward. Any guides for a stable overclock for the i5-2500k then? Most of them can hit 4.3 without bothering themselves right?

Go into the "Intel CPUs" area. They are in there somewhere. You might find something that's specific to your motherboard brand. I remember the guy that wrote the guide using Gigabyte boards being very thorough but writing a wall of text. That guide answered every possible question if read closely. I think this is it: http://www.overclock.net/t/910467/the-ultimate-sandy-bridge-oc-guide-p67a-ud7-performance-review The guide using ASRock is good if you just want to know what to do, comes with a .zip with programs you need, written easy to understand and follow, can recommend: http://www.overclock.net/t/1198504/complete-overclocking-guide-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-asrock-edition

If i turn on the power switch on the PSU, my fans in case start spinning and going off..the case lights blink..but if i have the case wires connected to the motherboard the power button will not work. I followed the manual diagram to connect everything.. i am not that experienced with building so I was hoping someone could help me diagnose and let me know if this is a hardware defect or something else is wrong.. thanks!

I removed them since they aren't really that needed and it seems to be solved. I guess as a follow up question..does anyone actually use the extra screws or do they only use the standoffs? I don't think I damaged the board from what I can tell. I used all mounting holes on the board. You need the stand offs for every position, and it has to fit with ATX vs. mATX board size, no extra stand offs pushing onto the bottom of the board where there is no hole. The case might come with washers for insulation of the screws, but you shouldn't use that nowadays. The board mounting holes have contact areas for the board to get grounded through the screws and the case and PSU casing all touching.

This never happened before, fresh reinstall of Windows 7 with new HDD (same computer otherwise). The odd thing is, Firefox crashes when this happen, should that happen? Though, I wouldn't be surprised if my video card is dying or something (it has had occasional problems before, but nothing like this though). I wouldn't mind if Firefox was the problem (the only recent change in program is Firefox) means no replacement needed for graphic card (I will try playing the game without Firefox open sometime later to see if it still happens). As for the drivers, I tried both the ones I had that worked before without any problems (and which I installed initially, 3.10 something nvidia) and the latest one (clean install). My video card is a GTX 560. I guess after installing a new HDD and moving the computer case around, maybe something caused the video card to finally start dying (it had some problems before) ![]()
