You need to have Turbo switched on, and set for example 45, 45, 45, 45 on the four cores. Then you go to the voltage screen, and the vcore setting has Auto, Normal and actual numbers like you've already seen. If you put it on Normal, the offset voltage setting directly beneath it gets switched on, and you can put it on +0.030, etc. I actually tried that, and entered +0.005, but this only led to BSOD and BIOS freeze, so I let it be. Although I have to say I think I enabled it when I was already at 4.4 Gig, so that might have been the problem... What your board does for you at the Auto settings, that's much more than the +0.005 you tried. I have these notes here: at 4.5 ghz, offset +0.030 leads to about 1.22 V (with a Gigabyte z77x-d3h). I'd suggest to try experimenting. I'd be uncomfortable with the Auto setting, perhaps it'll change something in the future. Who knows what readings it uses to get its values and if those can change and lead to changed voltage.

But then it would probably be safer to start at 3.4 GHz again and work my way up again, right? Or do you think I can just try to set it to +0.030 and I should have a fair chance of it working?

I think you can simply skip right to 4.5 GHz. What your screenshot shows for 4.5 GHz, that's actually something like 0.07 or 0.08 (I'm guessing). When you try something, look at what HWMonitor says about max vcore when running prime95, so that you'll stay below what you've recorded in your screenshots for the Auto setting. If you want to start with the offset at about zero, you could probably skip right to 4.2 or 4.3. It's not really zero and still increases vcore with each new multiplier step (I think it's what Intel specifies what should happen between 3.4 and 3.8 ghz to make that run stable guaranteed, which means it'll still likely be stable for a few steps after 3.8).
Somewhere, there's a "load line calibration" (LLC) setting. If you set that to "Turbo" for Gigabyte (should be second to last, with something called "Extreme" as last), that seems to make it so voltage stays constant no matter the load of the CPU. That could be important for stability.

Phagga, you're using a sandy bridge guide for asrock boards, im pretty sure they have an ivy bridge one for gigabyte haha
Im suprised you are only at 80c temp maxes with a 212 evo at 4.6ghz, 1.32v - that might be a touch low (high max voltage, low load voltage and heat) because of lack of LLC though, maybe hyper 212 is better than i thought
You might even need something like 1.4v for 4.7, i would poke at it a bit but just stay at 4.6 24/7

Made a thread to help others plus I dont think its a simple question and answer lol

hiya, my friend has a problem, wondering if you have any idea or advice..
from what i can gather, his external harddrive's connection to the computer became faulty. he took the drive to a shop to have the connection/wire fixed. when he got it back, it was "in pieces" and his computer can now only detect 100 gig on it instead of 1tb. he can still connect the HD to his PC using "another case", but wants to know how he can retrieve the missing 900gb / data.
+ Show Spoiler + [12:58:33] J: your external HD stopped working or..? [12:59:02] Jethro : ahh i took my hard drive to the shop to get fixed coz the socket needed replacing right [13:00:08] Jethro : they gave it back to me more broken - so the prob is that it isnt reading a full terrabite, its reading 100 gig and that been formatted - the guy said its been partitioned [13:00:32] Jethro : so i downloaded easy partion recovery software [13:00:47] Jethro : just wanted to know if u knew anything about this kindof thing [13:01:53] J: so he said he formatted it [13:01:55] J: ie wiped it [13:02:01] J: when fixing the wire [13:02:03] J: ? [13:02:26] Jethro : im not sure if theyve formatted the whole thing [13:02:50] Jethro : but they didnt fix the connection - il buy a new case soon with new connections [13:03:21] Jethro : i think theres 900 gig in the hidden partition with all my dta [13:03:41] Jethro : data but my pc only picks up the 100 gig partition [13:04:04] Jethro : il let u knw how it goes wheni get a new case n try the software i spose [13:04:38] J: you can still connect it ok tho? [13:05:19] Jethro : with the other guys case yes... [13:05:33] J: ic [13:05:35] J: ok [13:08:16] J: why didnt they fix the connection? they just told u to buy a new case? [13:09:19] Jethro : no they gave it back to me in peices n said they ran all there software on it and they dont know what wronge with it - i went back a month later n a diferent guy siad it was partitioned, they mustve done that themselves [13:09:37] Jethro : um...- wanted to keep it n charge me 60 quid to fix it [13:10:23] Jethro : i cud buy a new one for that [13:10:37] Jethro : its ok il get a case n try doing it i spose [13:10:51] Jethro : coz it does read the drive if its plugged in [13:11:09] Jethro : just a case of running recovery stuff - thought u knew of good programs [13:11:23] Jethro : i wikied programs n think i have a good 1
thanks.. ;;

Anyone else experiencing a kind of mouse lag while playing HotS?
Like, the click-and-drag box can't quite catch up with my pointer as I create it. I don't remember this happening in WoL, but maybe I'm wrong. It just feels really off, is there something new to modify in settings?

See if you have "reduced Mouse Lag" checked in the Options Menu. It helped me fixing the same issue.

Yep, have it checked. It's certainly worse without the option on, but there's still this little lag and it's just large enough to be really annoying. @_@
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. :D I figure I'll suffer through getting used to it, or I'll do a fresh install and see where that gets me if it really bothers me that much.

Rehio, go to your GPU drivers and look for pre-rendered frames, set as low as possible

Here's a mac question:
I currently have Mac OS X version 10.6.8, and need 10.7 or later to play HOTS. Here are my specs.... Model Name: MacBook Model Identifier: MacBook5,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
I think I read it can be downloaded, but I cannot find the link on the apple site.
Did find this, is this the same thing: http://os-x-lion-1074.en.softonic.com/mac

I think I have my settings set to max at 24 fps. I edited my Variables.txt with frameratecap and such but didn't help. WoL I had to set it to 24 frames to support my gfx card, but I got a new one since then. When I installed the beta it would run at 60 fps. Now that I updated to HoTs release, it is back at 24 fps. Any ideas?

where can i find some guides on console streaming, preferably though capture cards.

Is it normal that in campaign i get roughly 60-70fps on everything maxed? Even multiplayer is similar with 70-80 fps, I usually play on low with 200fps early game 60fps mid-late game.
My specs: Asua z77 sabertooth Ocz modxtreme 750w psu Intel core i5 3570k Msi geforce gtx 570 twin frozr ii Corsair vengeance 8gb Corsair h80 All in a corsair carbide 500r case
Thanks!
