YMMV based on your game of choice. I'm assuming SC2.

You will always lose FPS and performance but it's much more manageable with a good system to run the game/s well. Ideal settings would be 1920x1080, 45fps, veryfast, 4000kbit on a good server. Any issues, go down from there (either lower resolution*fps - or lowered bitrate - depending - dont touch preset) and not up. The game will run smoother, for you, at lower resolutions and particularly lower framerates on OBS/Xsplit, if you want to use 960x540@30fps or something to minimize impact - on my system for Xsplit gamesource (i have exact data for it, it's what i used to use) we are talking 15% FPS lost for 960x540, 30fps vs 44% lost for 1920x1080, 45fps (AFAIK OBS can beat this number, but not by much, whatever you do hurts for high resolutions and framerates) - as well as the performance degradation that you can feel even at high framerates (>200) that is very hard to describe

I've found a temporary solution in the form of using CCleaner to clean everything related to Google Chrome. After using CCleaner, it will work until I restart my PC. Then it will stop working again. It also says this, when I use the search feature: Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED): Unknown error. Any ideas how to fix this? ![]()

AMD athlon 64 dual core 6000+ nvidia nforce 570 nvidia geforce 8800 gt 2 gb ram I wanted to ask if it would make sense to buy another 2 gb ram for it to run sc2 better or it wouldn't do much difference? I can run 1v1 200/200 on low smoothly but with hots the game is loading very long, for example the campaign. I am total noob at computer parts so I am asking u for advice. Thanks

I can run 1v1 200/200 on low smoothly Sorry, but i dont think you have any idea what smoothly means o.0 Check in task manager to see if you are maxing RAM, if you are, load times and some aspects of performance could improve by adding more - its pretty much a futile gesture though with such an ancient system.

I noticed after I bought HotS that I could only download a Chinese version of SC2 from my account. I got to download the enUS version by changing the URL. I let the enUS SC2 client download, then I logged in. The client tells me that the enUS language is not available for my account. I've tried these relocalizers to change it to English: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=357860 (2.0.x, didn't work, even after changing the lines in variable.txt localX, localY from zhTW to enUS) http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=358064 And they didn't change anything. My client is still in Chinese. Does this mean I have buy the English version again? Is there a workaround for this that you know of?

I have four monitors. Left to right, 1680x1050 (duplicated), 2560x1440, 1680x1050. If I maximize on the left or middle monitor it will properly maximize, but if I maximize on the right it will maximize to a resolution much larger than the screen size (my guess would be its using the resolution of the middle monitor). I don't suppose anyone knows a quick fix?

Is there some kind of option to change this in windows? Windows 7 64 I've had something similar and that was due to a setting in my realtek software. I'm not sure exactly what's the translation is (mine is in Swedish) but it's something like "sound strength equalization." When I removed that feature it stopped behaving in that way you describe. If you have something other than realtek I have no idea sorry.

Does the time seem to depend on the kind of program you're installing? Is there any other drive access other than the SSD? CPU utilization is what? Any kind of antivirus / malware software scanning every file or every new file in the system?

Windows 7. The type of software doesn't matter. CPU utilization is close to nil, only anti-virus is Window's Defender. In most cases I doubt there's any other drive access, especially in cases where it's being installed from an exe in the downloads folder to the same drive, but it doesn't seem to matter which drive things are being installed to. There aren't file transfers or anything going on at the same time. The boot SSD is 98GB free (240GB) (OCZ Agility 3) which performed without incident in the old system. The other SSDs are an extended pair of 512GBs with 432GB remaining (Samsung 830). None of my HDDs have less than ~700GB free. + Show Spoiler + ![]()
