Thanks guys a simple reboot seems to have fixed it. I was going to try that immediately, but I wanted to make sure there weren't any diagnostic steps I should take before powering down.

Grab HDSentinel and check the health of that drive.

The one that used to go AWOL in my old system also happens to be on its leg, though I'm unsure if it was at the time.

I have three hard drives. My C: is a 120gig SSD which is fine. My D: is a 400 gig Sata which is the one I had the problem with. The software says it is fine. My E: is a 1.5 gig sata which it says has issues, even though that is not the one I had problems with yesterday.

I find it underestimates remaining lifespan by quite a lot.

I suppose you could try moving your troublesome one to a different SATA hub, but I'm just guessing randomly. Check for motherboard driver updates, too. It sounds more like a Windows issue than a motherboard one, though.

I am sorta clueless how to get the MLG stream running on an android device... the twitch app won't run it since I read in the LR thread that it's unable to show ads - though I also read you could watch it on an android device somehow. And it also says so on the twitch site.

I tried twitch.tv with FF/Chrome and the built in browser(GNexus- Android 4.2.2), unfortunately with no success.

Some help please?

I never had any problems with updating but now I'm trying to update my fanclub with a new [ url][/url], yes it's valid but it gives the following errior:

server error

A temporary error occured while loading this page. Please try again after a few seconds.

Anyone knows whats up?

You mean the update fails for a TL post or the link itself fails?

Now my 500Gig didn't show up again. So I have two drives with issues... My SSD C: has been fine.

Should I just buy a new drive and migrate everything over from the D/E? How is this?

If you've got two drives randomly disappearing from windows, it probably isn't the drives so replacing them might not help at all.

Have you tried updating motherboard drivers, changing where they're plugged in on the motherboard, flashing the motherboard, using different SATA cables, getting windows updates, or turning off power saving features (e.g. Advanced Power Settings -> Turn off Hard Disk after idle to never instead of X minutes/hours?

Google has a bunch of results pointing to the drivers being the issue and updates fixing the problem.

Since it's 2 drives, I would focus on things that affect multiple drives rather than just one (i.e. drivers rather than a bad cable).

Can you find anything in your Event Viewer related to this?

Hey guys, I'm currently having some BSOD and boot up issues. I just read that you should only run memtest with 1 stick of RAM in at a time. Is this true? Haven't ever heard that before so I wanted to check prior to running the test.

No I don't have two drives disappearing. My D: seems to be disappearing. My E: is low health according to HD Sentinel. I think the problems are completely unrelated; I only discovered the issue with E: due to investigating the problem with D:

I updated mobo drivers a couple of months ago. I can open up the comp when I have time, blow out any dust, jiggle the cords, etc, and see if that helps with the D:. In the meantime I should probably replace E: with a new drive, so while I'm at it I can just merge D and E on to a huge drive... is that link I posted above a good drive/deal?

Your 40% drive probably still has a reasonable amount of life left in it, but you're welcome to replace it for peace of mind.

Like I said, no guarantees that a new drive would avoid your current issue. I'd try a different port at the very least.

Not a computer problem: why are so many users still on the ice cream sandwich OS? Like what devices are they using that they aren't updating to Jellybean?
I thought the S3 just updated you automatically. I don't think any carriers would prevent an OS upgrade like this one.

I want to know because I want to install a rom of Ice Cream Sandwich but I don't know if it will be representative for me to have it on an S3 if all the ice cream sandwich users are using other phones like the... amaze.
