You did not need windowed mode for streaming for a long time, Gamesource although it used to perform awfully has been around for a long time, Dxtory etc for longer - these days it's not a problem at all to be running fullscreen with OBS game capture, xsplit gamesource or another alternative Multi-card setups have more variance in frametimes than single card, streaming programs tend to make frametimes more unstable as well and/or introduce input lag etc in a way that can make the game visibly unpleasant to play at framerates in excess of ~200, there's a specific camera drag i do every game vs zerg at 8 supply that i can instantly tell if i have OBS/Xsplit live, even though my FPS does not dip below 300 or so, just because of the laggy feel, and this is incredibly difficult to benchmark. As far as i understand it's just trickier to work with 2 cards than with 1 for screen capturing etc. I have no idea how performance would be - fps does NOT tell you the full picture here, not even close, and you'd have to bench carefully anyway, a lot more in depth than you have been doing in the playing random campaign missions or load daybreak and scroll around map for a few seconds changing graphics settings using screen cap instead of game cap because of system instability due to PSU, that basically tells you no useful information. I wouldnt go with sli460, I mean on a budget, you already have one, its good i guess - but when you think about it, you can match the FPS of sli460 with what, a single 660? ti? With uhh.. 0.4x the power consumption, none of the multi-GPU baggage or concern for optimal performance scaling with streaming or different games. I'm sure heat in case is relevant when you're running 5ghz 1.5v on air and blower cards are noisy if they have to ramp up, so i dont like them as an option very much Is this a game now? Lets ask the most complicated questions possible in the simple answers thread. I didnt even scratch the surface on this =P

Tried switching to a new language for SC2, went back to English but can't get rid of the downloaded german files, it keeps trying to re-download them. ____ So one of the new options that came with HotS was to change your language in the language tab on b.net. there's a dropdown for speech and movies, and one for text. I was curious about trying some different languages to get new voices/sounds for my units/game, so I tried one, it downloaded in launcher, and now I've gone back and prefer the English one. But the files are gigantic and eating up my HD space, so I want to remove them, but they're still there despite switching back to English. And when I tried to manually move one of the german language files out, when I start the launcher it tries to redownload it, despite having English selected. How do I tell it not to care about those german language files? I don't see a line for it in Variables.txt (documents\starcraft II) edit: found a file in Starcraft II folder (the one with the executable) called agent.db inside there's these lines: "installed_locales" : [ "enUS", "ruRU", "deDE" ], So I tried removing one of the lines, like "ruRU", but it just put it back next time I ran launcher. perhaps there's a registry key/value that says I installed one of those locales, that I can change?

I was told it didn't work for streaming, i think due to windowed mode, but i heard sli can now do windowed mode (as can crossfire), and with gamesource out on obs it doesnt matter since it's so good, you are better with fullscreen and sli could always do fullscreen. am i missing something here? I mean I'd love to sli 460s Where did you hear that SLI/CF can do windowed mode? I'd love to check that out. I have CF 6850's and can stream sc2 fine. I know sc2 isn't graphically demanding so changing from fullscreen to windowed really doesn't make a huge difference but it is noticeable. Granted it depends on what game you're playing/streaming to if it's any worse. Even when I play things like bf3 and stream them I can still hold at least 30fps consistently on mostly maxed settings (full screen mode. Windowed is terrible).

Clear your browser cache. Reset your modem/router? Check your firewalls. Try disabling antivirus if you have them on. Turn off hardware acceleration by right clicking inside the stream and change it in the settings. Does it do this in all your browsers?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! :D Also price isn't much of an issue but don't want something incredibly expensive and would prefer it to have windows 7. Edit: Added price range and preferred OS

I'm thinking of reformatting this new laptop I got, it comes with Win8, but I prefer Win7, and I've heard it voids warranty if I do something like that. =\

As far as I know that kind of thing doesn't generally void a warranty as long as you don't overclock or anything like that but I guess you'd have to check your particular agreement to be sure.

I'm sure heat in case is relevant when you're running 5ghz 1.5v on air and blower cards are noisy if they have to ramp up, so i dont like them as an option very much I already have a high quality PSU, so the increased power consumption isn't an issue. A quality 550w psu will handle sli on 460s on an intel system. As for budget, a 660ti is what, $200+ on a good day? A 460 on a good day is $60. So I'm basically paying $120 for 'that' level of performance. Now a GTX 470 (similar to a 7850 i believe) is around $120 (maybe $100, but that's pushing it i think), I could get that instead, but that's about only like, what, 50% better at most? I have no problem selling my 460 off to get a single card solution instead, but for the X amount of power that is 460SLI, it's way cheaper to go with 2 460s @ $120 total than a 470 or anything else. Maybe there's better cards out there at $100-150 but I don't know what that'd be. Heat actually isn't a concern, twin frozr ii keeps my GPUs insanely cool. Pretty sure I can stay under 60-70*C even with the high voltage I put them on after modding the bio if I ramped the fan up, I only keep the fan at like 60% on my 460 as it is. My i7 stays very cool, 85*C as a max temp during small fft/35 hours p95 is pretty cool, in gaming + streaming I don't think I ever went above 55*C. I'll look into sli more and gtx 460 sli specifically and such, I just thought it wasn't a matter of SLI vs Single Card but rather an issue of "well SLI can't run in windowed mode". But now with the creation of game capture being better (and therefore you run in fullscreen, not windowed), and that sli is compatible with windowed mode, makes the question relevant again. I mean I asked this a while ago and seriously considered it but as soon as I heard that sli doesn't work with windowed mode I just immediately quit looking into it.

I got a Steelseries 6gv2 and want to use custom keycaps, where can I get keycaps actually fitting the 6gv2 as some keys are completely different (e.g. the enter key has a different size than a normal one, keys are shaped a bit differently)?

I'd suggestion going to wasdkeyboards.com, click on contact us, and try and get a hold of someone who can answer your question for their products.

WASD have a thing on their site somewhere detailing which caps fit on which keyboards. edit: found it Other custom caps should be similar, spacebar and enter won't fit from memory.
