Mac keyboard shortcuts interfering with SC hotkeys

I have been working on changing my hotkeys for SC2 and I am trying to make it so my control groups are 12345 and QWERT. Unfortunately, pressing command + q quits applications. It also won't allow me to use command + w and command + r. I could change it to option instead of command, but that is slightly smaller and harder to press in conjunction with the hotkeys, and the whole point was to streamline my playing. I would do spacebar + hotkeys but the battlenet hotkey system won't allow it. It seems to only allow shift, command, and option to be used with other keys.

Is there any way to turn off keyboard shortcuts on a mac? Specically command + q, w, and r.

There is an option in the SC2 settings that turns off all mac shortcuts, you could try that.

Go to preferences and change quit application from cmd+q to cmd+esc ?

I disabled os shortcuts but that didn't have any effect on command+q. I have managed to set my hotkeys to command +q,w,e,r,t and they all seem to work fine, but when i hit command+q, a menu pops up saying "Are you sure you want to exit Starcraft 2?"

I attempted to change the hotkey for "Exit StarCraft II" in my system preferences, but that has had no effect whatsoever.

Hopefully this qualifies as a good reason ...

(1) I want to change my "save screen location" hotkeys to F1-5 respectively, but I cannot seem to do it. When I press CTRL+F1 it does not change the hotkey binding :/

Has anyone else discovered how to do this, specifically?

Your F-keys only act like F-keys when you hold down the Fn button, assuming you have a Macbook. Go to keyboard settings and change the default behaviour of the F-keys.
