This has me me a little concerned. It came in like this from noreply@blizzard.com and the The bolded section was a link (dont click on it, although I didnt post the link here).

So worried, I went into my account system, noticed no changes that the account had mentioned, and then to be safe I changed by password.

This is the original Email i got. Which I thought was legit because of the email it came from (although I never clicked the link I went into battle.net directly.

notice the difference, no link involved with account Management, just a link to the faq. and it just tells you to contact the account services department, it has a few subtle difference. However once I emailed for support (through the battle net website), i recieved a notification that they had recieved my email from "donotreply@blizzard.com"

So what do you guys think? was the first email a Scam? or was someone in my account and this is a legitmate email? noreplay@blizzard.com seems legitimate, but I couldnt find any changes, and the other two emails I got back were from slightly different emails.

I think it might be a scam. I used to get tons of those as spam and it seems like the scam emails have a link and the legit ones don't, though i might be wrong. I recommend never following a link like that from an email since it can easily send you to a fake site even though the link might seem ok.

Sorry I never saw that thread when i searched, but after reading the first couple of pages, I am convinced that anything from noreply@blizzard.com is scam now.

Thanks for linking me that, It makes me feel much more secure.

Email headers are trivially spoofed, the only real "source" of an email is the IP address, the From address means nothing. It's pretty easy to spot - if they don't address you by your real name or ask you to click a link to an obviously fake website, then it's a scam. If you're unsure, never click on any links and just go to battle.net yourself and verify your details there.

Whenever you see something about a battle net account, never click a link. Always navigate there yourself to check.

The phishing makers are getting better and better at doing it. Dont fall victim.

Umm, if you actually read the OP you would see how stupid you just made yourself sound. The email was from @blizzard.com

Thanks for the feedback Rich, I never noticed that they didnt use my name in the first email. I will look for that in the future. In this case the only link said "account Management" so it was hard to tell if the site was fake or not. I didnt click on it tho, and navigated to Battle.net myself as was suggested.

A lot of these mails always come from @blizzard.com, just mouse over the links in the mail and read the proper URL at the bottom. Will most likely show a fake one down there.

lol, you really know what you're talking about, I can tell for sure T_T

Some of these scams are pretty good and imitate websites very well. The easiest way is to check if they use your real name.

Well if there's no link in the 1st email (apart from the support one) then I don't really what's the point of the first email.
Anyway I recommend trying to use a mail service with a good spam filter such as gmail, so all the spam gets filtered, and all the real stuff comes to your inbox.
Now that I think of it though, I've received similar emails, only they were about AION (which Ironically enough I never really played. I got the beta and newer bought the game after that, neither I ever registered in any AION related site. I think that says much about the company hosting that game) and they were scam, so imo this is just a random spam.

Not that text. There is a different link in the email that shows the email address.

I can send you a message from pinokyo email and have it read blizzard@blizzard.com
Also just howering over any link will show you the site its pointing to.

I've had the same email in the spam folder and they always have different email in the box.
