I lost my trusty Diamondback a month or so ago, and I am searching for a replacement. I was a huge fan of my Diamondback, but since Razer doesn't make them any more they are somewhat hard to find for a reasonable price. I browsed around Razer's website looking for a replacement, but with out holding them in my hand I have a hard time figuring out what I would like. I have used my friend's Deathadder, but I don't like mice that try to fit to your hand (I prefer a fingertip grip on a mouse with a fairly flat top, like the Diamondback). Any suggestions?

i got a deathadder and hated it..is a g5 or mx518 too big for you? those are the two mice i've used for probably almost 7 years combined.

i'm a diehard diamondback user and tbh, there is no replacement for it.

i am using a salmosa to try to replace it, but there's no other mouse that can come close to the original Diamondback and less so to the Diamondback 3G.

Just get a deathadder, its pretty much razer's replacement for the diamondback.

Hmm I have also a Blue Diamondback 3G, and I was planning to buy a Deathadder 3G if this one breaks. I tought they kind of have a similiar form..

I think the Deathadder's a bit different from the Diamondback -- larger, ergonomic, taller profile. I'm pretty sure the Copperhead was intended as a replacement, but it's obviously an inferior product (except pulse lighting! [sarcasm]).

I think the best replacement for a Diamondback may be another diamondback. I *just* got a Diamondback 3G on Ebay, brand new, for $40. They are still out there. Good luck.

Logitech g9x. It has two interchangeable grips, choose the one you like. Plus customizable weight, and easy dpi change.

I have the Deathadder (And use the fingertip grip) and it seems to work perfectly, I suppose it's based a lot on hand-size though.

I used to have a Diamondback and a Diamondback 3G. Great mice. Depending on what part of the Diamondback body you liked, an Abyssus, Salmosa, G9/G9x or Xai might fit you. The Abyssus is probably the closest shape-wise, and it and the Salmosa are the lightest. Neither have side-buttons, which was a deal-breaker for me since I use voice-chat a lot and I'm accustomed to hitting the side buttons for push-to-talk. The G9/G9x with the smaller grip is really nice, and I think that's what Fruitdealer used as well during the GSL finals (there was a thread about this a week ago). The Xai has its hump positioned a little too far forward for me, as I'm used to Razer's tendency to place the hump a little more to the rear. Your mileage may vary however, as I know a lot of people who love the Xai.

I personally use the G9 with the larger grip, since I can't play FPS's with the smaller grip, and I can play both RTS and FPS equally well with the larger one.

I like an ergo grip it takes awhile to get used to but i get a ton less handcraps in longer sessions. I just wish i could use my trackball well enough in games lol

Doesn't the razer lachesis take the same form factor of the diamondback? If I were to find a replacement for the diamondback, that would be my best bet imo.

Although, I have been hearing some complaints about the razer lachesis about having a poor sensor, I think that the recently updated version doesn't have those issues.
