I don't believe this is video card overheating because my screen would just freeze, the ambiance music would still work fine, and the screen doesn't turn black Sc2 just freezes and I can't windows or alt-tab anyone else experiencing this problem or have fixed this issue?

1) Start of game (i.e. you see your 6 peons, and then freeze) 2) End of game - I click "Victory" and the screen freezes (but mumble is still running). Either way, 15s pass and I'm back on desktop with SC2's "Error Reporting" window open - FTL. I have HWMonitor open, so I know temps are not a problem for me either. | ||

Use a GPU temperature monitoring program that has some kind of overlay and periodically glance at it in game. When GPUs overheat many of them throttle, which can cause the freezing -but your background applications such as music won't be affected. | ||

here is what i did. 1) Launch SC2 2) Alt Tab and go into task manager 3) right click on sc2.exe and select set affinity 4) select just 1 or 2 cores. that seemed to fix it for me. | ||

Download RivaTuner from 3D-Guru Install RivaTuner Start Rivatuner Main->Target Adapter->Customize->Hardware monitoring(now dont touch it anymore) Start Starcraft 2 Maybe its just a stupid coincidence for me... i don't know^^ | ||

add: frameratecap=40 (or anything between 40 and 60) in there. that fixed it for me. | ||
