Also the v8 is 40$ If you want a really good cooler that's a reasonable size and capable of higher OCs than an average air cooler like the Hyper 212+ or Xigmatek Gaia, I'd suggest looking at the CoolerMaster TPC 812. http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2654 Amazing performance, but it's only around the height of a 212+, so it fits in most ATX cases. It's a bit thicker, so watch out for memory heat spreaders. I'll never understand the attraction of a closed loop liquid cooler like an H100 outside of maybe for moving the PC around a lot.

I got a 400w one which can run : i5 2500k, z68, gts 250, 4gb ddr3 , 1 hard drive 500gb western digital green caviar. It says that it needs a 500w one minimum but it doesn't consume much more power than my gts 250,infact it consumes less, do you think i should buy one? You don't need a new PSU.

EDIT: also, if I use the hard drive from my previous computer, my OS should still work with my new equipment right?

Assuming you aren't excluding something relevant, like building a custom case out of cold cathodes, and double custom loops, yeah, the PSU is fine. And to answer your edit, odds are good you'll be reinstalling your OS so chipset drivers don't go kablooey.

I am going to be over clocking my i5 and my gpu and i am wondering if I will run into problems with my powersupply. Newegg placed it at 496watts but since i will be overclocking will i need a bigger power supply? Newegg's PSU calculator is a pile of shit on a good day. Assuming it's a quality model PSU (which may be a silly assumption since you didn't say what model), 500w is more than enough. If it's not a quality model, I wouldn't want to use it no matter how overkill it was theoretically rated to be.

Go for an H60 then if you're adamant about getting something that won't waggle around as your car moves.

I already own most periphirals. I already have a case, HD, and memory, along with mouse/keyboard/monitor etc. Basically I'm upgrading. If I am missing anything that I will need to replace please let me know but here is what I have come up with so far (basically best thing I can get for the money for ~$550 Intel Core i5-3550 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo) ~209.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116505#top GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ~ 119.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128543 SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (100314-3L ) ~159.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W ATX12V ~ 89.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Power Supplies-_-Corsair-_-17139020&AID=10440897&PID=3938566&SID= Truly I only have $550 to work with, but this is only $30 more and looks like it would be a really good build. Critiques please? If anyone has anything that would be better suited please tell me !!

Critiques please? If anyone has anything that would be better suited please tell me !! HD6870 is overkill for 1680x1050. A cheaper HD6850 will work just as well. The power supply you linked is overpriced and supplies twice the amount of power your system will EVER use. Why not overclock? You can easily do it on your budget and the i5-3570K is on sell this weekend for $219. i5-3570K & MSI Z77 G43 ATX $312.98 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.975660 Sapphire HD6850 $144.99 ($129.99AMIR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 Rosewill Capstone 450w 80+Gold PSU $64.99 www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066 Cooler Master Hyper 212+ $29.99 ($19.99AMIR) www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 Total: $552.95 (527.95AMIR)

I wanted the 650 power supply because the video card requires at least 500w at least, I figured why not get that better video card (for like $20 more) for any new games or anything? From what I've read the performance that the 6870 gives for the cost is really good compared to the 6850
