so are you saying we should delete the 15449 15580 15623 15655 version folders and replace the 15392 gamehotkeys files with the ones you gave?

or replace the newest patch (15655) Core.SC2Mod gamehotkeys and Liberty.SC2Mod gamehotkeys files with the ones you gave on the OP? Because this didn't work.

I am completely lost. I downloaded the gamehotkeys.txt file (linked on front page as backup mpq for people who did not backup before patch 16) and used the mpq editor to open the enusdata.mpq file. I went to the localized data directory within the mpq and noticed that there was a gamestrings.txt but not gamehotkeys.txt, so I just added the downloaded gamehotkeys.txt from the OP to the mpq. Am testing now, did not work.

The patch "enUS\Mods\Core.SC2Mod\enUS.SC2Data\LocalizedData\GameHotkeys.txt" could not be applied. (CRC mismatch: expected 0x37eccaa7, actual 0xd9a00ce1.)(PTCApply_BSDiff failed.) If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (BNUpdate:

What I am going to do now is open the latest patch versions of the files instead of the mod directory and try applying the fix there. Will post if it works.

Can someone PLEASE post a non-modified GameHotkeys.txt from Core.SC2Mod?!?! It's the one with all the interface hotkeys.

Seems so. If you look through it you can see that it's modified. The CameraView hotkeys are F2-F8 insead of F5-F8 so there's no way it will work. I tried editing it and changing all the keys back to what I thought were their original hotkeys but it still didn't work I must have missed something. Just need the file from someone else. ><

Lets say we did have the correct gamehotkeys.txt file. How do we go about installing it? Do we open the enus.sc2data mpq file in the mods/core directory and then add the gamehotkeys to it??

starting to reinstall, fuck it. really sad i cant find where i backed up gamehotkeys.txt. i can see my backup for the Liberty one, but I cant find a copy of the Core gamehotkeys... really frustrating. oh well.

By the way, how customized are your hotkeys? Are they different enough from standard hotkeys that playing without your hotkeys would be nearly impossible?

Ok, i even tried replacing the the gamehotkeys in the version 15392 folder in both core and liberty and still got the same error. You must be right, the files posted on the front page are not working.

Im gonna try using the file the spine posted.

No, im doing one last attempt using the files posted in the front page of this thread. I am copying the appropriate gamehotkeys.txt file into the corresponding (core and liberty) mpq directory in the versions 15655 folder. If this doesnt work I am reinstalling. Does anybody know what the fastest and best way to reinstall is without having to re-download all the patches and the beta over again?

I tried doing it your way too earlier and I don't think that's gonna work. I used SC2tools to open the gamehotkeys.txt from the mpq and it exists, so us adding it manually into the mpq ain't right.

Technically I'm not giving up. Im changing the solution from replacing the gamehotkeys.txt file to reinstalling. Ofcourse the second solution is much more drastic, unfortunately the first solution did not work.

Do you know the best way to reinstall? Im about to delete my starcraft 2 beta folder.

Fully reinstalled, took about an hour.
If you still have the 1.5gigs of data in your "Starcraft II Beta enUS Installer" folder right next to your Starcraft II Beta folder then you will save a lot of time.
I just deleted the Starcraft II folder and reinstalled from the Starcraft II Beta enUS Installer folder, sat through a 900mb patch, and I'm now able to log on.

Trying to access gamehotkeys.txt in this new version brings up an error message (unable to extract), it seems like Blizzard is trying to prevent us from doing so. =/

EDIT: It seems like using the latest version of SC2Tools works for changing hotkeys, but manually doing it isnt possible now. Sentry hotkey is bugged or something but I am happy everything works now :D

LOL I said not able to log on I meant NOW able to log on.

So yea it's working for me.

hmmm, sorry for misleading you guys with the .txt files - I have indeed screwed up and uploaded modified versions

although I don't know what are the version numbers mentioned by Mios and Sabersandiego, in my old SC2 install I have 14 "Base" directories and the latest is 15392, my only guess would be that they are some intermediary patches from Blizzard, from the down period

in any case, you can try the enGB files that were hosted by some guy a few pages back (and you have to overwrite them in the appropriate patch-enUS.SC2Archive directory - or use SC2Tools to load with "Work with file" and then save to MPQ), I would normally send you the Base15976 files, except I can't extract them :\

Do we know yet if Blizzard plans on allowing full custom hotkeys in the retail version (as in depth as sctools)?

Also I am curious how many people have trained themselves, as I have, to their own custom set of hotkeys and are adapted to that instead of standard hotkeys.
