everybody where playing like assholes to get stuff, and it ruins doing actually cool stuff because everybody ahs already done it, you can't really talk about how awesome the SCV rush was when half of bnet already got the SCV rush achievement because they wanted a new skin, it turns something special into a commonplace task. just having acheivements is fine, you get a little badge for tripple nuking someone or stuff like that, but when you NEED to do things like this for a reward they're not something a little fun on the side anymore, it turns into work. And it's often stuff that isn't considered standard play, so imagine playing on the ladder for a day and all your opponents try worker rushes for achievments. why have it unlockable in the first place? why not just give the players the content right then and there? | ||

- achievements - new unit armour at certain ranks you get for winning online games It's a nice touch. But has to be done carefully. In DoW2 it was pretty easy because the differences in armour were rather subtle in most cases and you operate as squads there so you automatically see what's what. In SC it would be a bit trickier as you have tons of individual units and if the model changes would go too far it could create a lot of confusion. Especially for new players, who'd have to play against someone more experienced who has unlocked a lot of that stuff and all of his units look different now. Just imagine you've been playing against the computer to learn the basics, enter bnet and you get attacked by something you have never seen before... | ||
