They should cut the thor, yeah.
It's not very interesting of a unit, not suited to a multiplayer game. Maybe keep it for the campaign.

I hate big slow units in RTS, they are so boring and tasteless. No interesting micro possibilities at all.

Not necessarily true, in fact they tend to be more focused on micro because you don't have as many of them but they're more powerful. Though I agree the thor is uninteresting and its role as antiair just doesn't make sense. Need a cheap, agile ground unit for ground-to-air, otherwise it's just pointless since air already has more mobility.

But for example, mountain giants in war3, which are huge units, are one of the most fun units in the game. They have a taunt ability that makes nearby enemies attack it, which can really throw off enemy players if used well in the midst of a fight.

Sadly, I don't feel excited watching this video.

I already got over the fact it's in 3D but damn... the CC looks to me like a huge bunker, the supply depots look like farms from WC3 with lights. And the Thors, holy crap, what a lame unit on every aspect.

Sure I'm exagerating a bit, sure the game looks better and more fun than 99% of all RTS out there, but there's not much in that video that bring me the same feeling I've had with SC.

I really don't like the size of the Thor. It just seems out of place; like an experimental in SupCom. It might work as sort of a Goliath in size anti-air but I don't see the use for it.I don't think SC needs the super-unit factor. Especially not the over-scaled super-unit factor Blizzard seem to test out at the moment. The Siege Tank is just about the right amount of fierce in my opinion.

What's the terran blob now?
Thor: Heavy Air? Heavy Ground & Tank?
Siege Tank: Heavy Ground
Jackal: Light Ground
Viking: Medium Ground and Air?
Banshee: AoE Ground
BC: ...
I just don't get the Terran army-composition.

The Thor is just so goofy looking that it's hard to take serious... I mean the collision doesn't even seem to be very good for it either, the way they all cluster together makes it look even more retarded. The Thor should be a terran melee unit in my opinion that does less DPS than ultralisks but is extremely good for soaking damage (like WC3 Mountain Giants but not as weak.. MGs do less damage than every WC3 tier 1 unit).

A silly idea I have would to make it be able to walk over smaller units like zerglings and marines but make it bigger (and less goofy of course).

At most in any of the vids the thor is a bit clumsy. Maybe it could be smaller otherwise I don't mind it there. In terms of story meh it can fill a role.

I think the speed of flying buildings is because a part of Terran macro now is switching addons since Rax and Factories can use the same addons. So if you want to start going into marine overdrive, gotta quickly swap the tech lab for the reactor.

It does not take away control, you just have to issue another command and the order is gone. Repeating, all it do is order all nearby enemy units to attack it, it gives no durational effect so you can still order them around.
