So far I don't like a single new unit. Great. I had high hopes as I adore the baneling but now this.. I guess I should wait until they get screens/videos up but the units sound boring as fuck to be honest! EDIT: Oh the infester is ok.
So it seems as though the Queen may become a hero-type unit, with upgradeable abilities and perhaps auras as well.

Tunneling may be a result of Nydus worms, we'll have to wait for more word on that...
The "Roach" is apparently resistant to any kind of small-arms, non-concentrated fire, which probably means area-effect attacks won't be particularly useful against it, and certainly nothing like Irradiate.
"Infester" is clearly the successor to the Defiler, if not outright the same unit, with "disease" (presumably an alternate translation of Plague), Dark Swarm, and the Queen's old Infest ability. Very interesting indeed.

The roach sounds fun, but it seems to obscure the role of zerglings (assuming the roaches are fast and plentiful with low hp, but with high regen). Maybe they should make the roach abilities an upgrade for the zerglings instead of creating an entire new unit.
The change to the Queen sounds cool; theyre underused in most games anyway, so Im not complaining about them being given a possibly bigger role. And I like the multi-attack of the Ultra; makes more sense, with their massive blades and all. I wonder if theyll do full damage to each unit, or something similar to splash.

Thats actually a really good idea. Maybe when you make a hive a queen hatches out of to top of it? That would be cool.
On second thought, if the queen is indeed one per BASE, and is somehow linked to it's functions, that might be a pretty neat game mechanic. I just don't want them to make it a super unit. I will reserve further judgement until I see a gameplay video...

Guardians with broodlings sound kinda weird. I mean does the broodling ability match the guardians role? I hope they make the guardian better and more useful than it was in Brood War, they were my favorite units.

Q: How is the balancing process going? A: The balancing process is very complicated! That’s why us devs are always playing and balancing the game. Fortunately we have great talents here. We’re planning on getting feedback from this demonstration. We will also balance through patches. Map developers from WC2 are participating in SC2. We can’t tell you much now but you will be able to experience it soon.
Q: I heard SC2 uses a new graphics engine. Can you tell us the specifics? A: I’m not a graphics expert, but I can tell you we have several advanced graphics techniques being used.
Q: The Zerg scenario ended with the Protoss attacking, but the Terran were conquered for the Protoss assault. Is the sequel loyal to the original storyline? The Queen seems to be used like a hero. Do we have to tech to use it? A: The storyline is still under development. We can’t give you any details on it yet. The Queen is usable from the beginning and is specialized towards defense. A graphics card with Pixel Shader 2.0 is required.

Q: Zerg’s Infestor. In SC1 Infestation wasn’t used much. How much will this be used in SC1? Do the infested units count toward population? A: Infestation is still being tested. We’ve only shown our work in progress. We’re trying to make Infestation a valid tactic in SC2. Supply depots can be infested as well. This will be a useful ability this time around. Currently you can only produce infested marines but that’s subject to change.
Q: SC1’s AI was a bit weak. How’s pathfinding and singleplayer? The Protoss have a cliff walker unit but the Zerg don’t seem to have one. Is there a unit made with this ability? Recently user-made maps are popular but there are some restrictions with licensing. For example making a map unusable is downloaded then changed. Is there a way to secure maps? A: The devs are working to resolve this issue (AI and pathfinding). But this is still under construction! We can’t tell you anything about what the final build will look like. The Zerg do not have a cliff walker but use Nydus Worms. We’re aware of the problem with securing user-made maps and are considering options to resolve this issue.

calm down guys. I dont think blizzard will be introducing hero's into starcraft, plus they've shown time and time again that they know what they are doing when it comes to balancing. So im pretty sure that the units we see today aren't going to be the end products.

From the interview, SC2 Zerg seems to plays like a brand new race I don't like that. I'd be the last person to say that SC2 looks like WC3 in space, but from these Zerg screenshot, it really does!

Quit whining. It's a new game. Of course it plays different. And how it looks doesn't matter. SC looks 10 years old and it's better than any game.
There are things way more important; like gameplay and competitive nature and richness in strategy and tactics.
I liked the way they had The Mothership as the awesome centerpiece of the original gameplay video, and then shortly thereafter had screenshots with a half dozen little motherships floating around.
All I want is for the Queen to have a Spawn Ultralisk spell.

However you as a player never controlls more than 1 brood, lets just see the queen as a supplementary cerebrate. That also fills the lore hole on how kerrigan controls the whole swarm, she created these new superqueens to lead taskforces
What if a queen is destroyed? Lets just say that then kerrigan goes into remote control mode untill another one is built

Yeah, the way the zerg is in BW it's like the whole creep is some living body (creep=skin and veins buildings=organs) which goes great with the characteristics of that race but now in SC2 the creep looks more like blight from WC3.
All in all I like almost everything they added except maybe for the silly color of the acid. Looks like sand.

I doubt the unique units of Starcraft 2 are like heroes. They can't use items, they have very limited energy, they don't level up unless you count upgrades as lv ups... You don't lose the whole game if one happens to die. :p

Nydus worms can become nydus canal like structures able to transport units between the worms or they can transport normally.
The circling stuff is a queen ability that makes your structures get an attack temporary.
