[H] split Sc2 into two windows (on one monitor)

Hi everyone,

Quick question. I am looking into getting a high resolution curved monitor maybe around 32’ since I enjoy playing FPS like warzone or CS. The problem is I also enjoy SC2 and as everyone knows the ideal size to maximize peripheral vision and minimize mouse movement is closer to a 21-24 inch.

Do any community members have suggestions on how I can split the screen in half (on one monitor) and regulate the size of the real estate used for the SC2 window? I already have a dual monitor setup with 2 24’ so I know how that works, but I’m really looking into how I can use 1, premium, large monitor and have the same effect. This might involve the GC but I haven’t done much research yet. In case this is helpful, I’m using a GTX 1660 TI. Thanks!

I don't know what kind of software your monitor uses, but my 27 inch LG comes with an app called "on screen control" that allows you to do what you're talking about. It comes with different screen split formulations, but for example one is a 2/3 to 1/3 split, which would get you to what you're going for if you want the 21-24 inch range for SC2. If your monitor doesn't have such an app, your built-in computer settings or perhaps a 3rd party app should allow you to do this. If what you're trying to do is actually split the SC2 window across multiple parts of the screen, I'm not sure how that could be done.

You can just select a 16 : 9 resolution and whatever scaling mode (or lack of one) in the graphics driver

Yes, that is what I am trying to do but is it innate to LG? I also don't want to be restricted by the size; meaning can it be spread to the exact measurements I want the window for SC2 or the default from LG. Seems more like a GC capability, but I could be wrong. Thanks!

I use a 34" 21: 9 ultrawide monitor. For SC2, I just reset the resolution to 16: 9 and have black bars on the sides of the screen. I haven't found a way to do it on 21: 9 without using windowed mode.

Regardless of the OS, your monitor is using, my 27-inch LG has an app called "on-screen control" that enables you to do what you're describing. The graphics driver lets you choose a 16

aspect ratio and a scaling method.

SC2 also runs well in windowed fullscreen. I have been playing on a 49" ultrawide with no issues at all in windowed fullscreen.
