I have recently started playing SC2 again, and have been trying to figure out why on some maps the Zerg creep looks like this.

Hopefully people can see the dropbox links. They recently removed direct links to files for some stupid reason.
Anyway, I've also noticed in various YouTube videos that people have the same weird creep texture on some maps. Like this video here is an example of this effect in motion.
Spoiler tag because for some reason I can't just link a video without it embedding the entire player... Sorry about that don't know how to fix it on this forum. + Show Spoiler +
It's not on all maps, so I'm not sure if its a graphical bug with texture layering that blizzard hasn't fixed or some weird intentional effect.
Anyone know more about this? It honestly looks terrible on some maps and I don't really see why creep needs to look different on various maps if intentional. The screenshots I posted are on all extreme settings, but I've tried every mix of settings under the sun and get the same effect.
It looks like "low terrain" creep is being forced on some maps.

Thanks for the information! I spent hours trying to debug this myself on my new laptop because I thought maybe I was having graphical problems. I only noticed it wasn't my laptop only when I tried to run the same maps on my desktop pc and then started checking YouTube videos for it.
Sadly, the creepnormalmap variables trick with low terrain settings doesn't seem to fix it for me. I guess I will just have to live with the glitchy looking creep in LotV maps... Such a bad design choice by Blizzard. The HotS and WoL creep was perfectly fine. The new creep looks really patchy. In a few maps I've found so far it even down right broken. Snow textures literally glitching through spots of the creep and such.
Based on the way to fix it in the map editor, it seems to be exactly what I thought it was though. It's a texture/model height issue. The creep texture was lowered into the ground by a few pixels. Makes me wonder if this was actually an intentional change, or something that Blizzard "bumped" while updating LotV in the editor that never got fixed.
I see that it's been a couple of years since it's been noticed already and still hasn't been changed back. So I guess it's the final way the creep will be unless they decide to make another design choice in a normal patch. Shame.
