Regardless of the situation, we will still action upon "dead game" comments. As this is a sensitive issue for SC2 fans, please do not come into this thread and talk about SC2 players switching over to BW. This thread is also not about bashing Blizzard, David Kim, or the WCS system. |

Funny and perfect irony: Everybody without a team right now but ByuN got a team! Karma I guess...

That is pretty much why I've been bitching non-stop about WCS lockign.
Won't say more than that (to respect spirit of the thread), but yes, there's a REASON why WCS region locking is so bad. Terrible, terrible.
I want to see more Koreans playing Starcraft and now one of the best tournaments in the game is offline.

Best op so far
All this blame on Blizzard is hilarious and sadly misguided. They kept Korea alive for years, and now they're being blamed for killing it. Who do you think paid for all those GSLs? A tiny energy drink brand that hardly exists outside Korea?

But the problem was that without any establishment of infrastructure or region locked leagues, the Koreans were slowly suffocating the foreign scene because of the difficulty of making a living.
I'm not saying total region locking was the answer, but tournaments and viewership was going down, and I don't think balance or design was the full reason.
I do hope that in light of this news Blizzard opens up the tournaments while still keeping the core WCS as is and continues to support the Korean scene.

It's only a problem to those who watch the competition for reasons other than the competition itself. The best players should win, and many of us are here to watch just that.
Frankly I could do without those nationalistic pricks in the community thank you very much, or the people who see one stupid cringy tweet and circlejerk about how StarCraft needs more trash talk and fabricated half-baked drama between people who aren't even at the top of the food chain to begin with.

GSTL if you come back, please use your old format ! Kespa format was meh. Or do 3 normal 1 archon ! Though Sc2 seems to turn into a personal sponsorship game without teams anyway.

sc2 dead game WCS system is shit. David Kim should have been fired a long time ago.

A tiny energy drink brand that hardly exists outside Korea? Your logic implies that either: A) BW was also secretly sponsored by Blizzard, otherwise how could it go on so many years? Or B) SC2 only temporaruly succeeded thanks to Blizzard's sponsorship, and not because the game was actually more fun in previous expansions.
I wouldn't use it as an argument

The other girl seems way more professional when it comes to casting. Focuses way more on the game and brings insight however. Hope she has a bright future. I guess she is actually the reason Basetrade is a success. Not because she seems to know stuff, but also increases the channels "aesthetics" (which for sure some will find anti-feminist, or sexist or whatever, but it is the truth. Go ahead and ban me for saying it).

While all of this may be true, expressing your opinion here on a public forum is not welcome. Please refrain from posting your own opinions and instead only use TeamLiquid.net/Blizzard approved opinions, whilst also remembering what is acceptable behavior for moderators is not neceesserally acceptable behavior for you. Thanks

Thanks I remember, when SC2 was coming out (or before it came out), TL was doing something where if you preordered the game through their link they would get a bonus or something. At this moment I thought, that's unfortunate, the main community site has tied its interest to the profits of Blizzard. And to me, it kind of explains the somewhat aggressive behavior towards some kinds of criticism.

tied its interest to the profits of Blizzard. Just how picky can someone be. Also, the rant of Vandeam was really off topic, negative, and meaningless. It was actually childish to just write the exact things that are forbidden as in the note on top.

I was expecting some statements by Blizzard and related by today.
The silence is deafening.

Sure, why not? Blizzard deserves all that patronising attitude, because pouring tons money in lieu of making the game better justifies dismissing all the feedback from its customers.
Besides, that "tiny brand" is the nation's sixth-largest conglomerate.
