Q: What are your thoughts on making it to the finals after 12 tries?
A: I am very happy for making it after the twelve attempts. It's been so long! The 19-year old me was arrogant, thinking that I could easily make it to the finals, but slowly I've aged to 22. It has become harder and harder to advance with the passing of time. However, many players who are younger than me were able to advance, and it has became my motivation. I hope to become like them and start over. I am really happy to be able to advance to the finals.
Q: Have you ever thought of winning 4:1?
A: I thought it would be difficult, because MMA has always been good at preparations. I took a look [at him] during practice, and he seemed more prepared than I was. I was scared. But after the match has started, I was sure that I could win the first game. After the first game, I found that he doesn't know me[my style] well, and is also intimidated by me.
Q: When did you feel that [he was intimidated]?
A: Actually, I always win the mental battle when I face Terrans. I can use any opening against a Terran. Today, my read on the situation is that my opponent's defense is lacking: he could not defend and attack well at the same time. He was usually good at defense, so I prepared other strategies. But I won the first game effortlessly, so I felt that his defense wasn't adaquete.
Q: Who do you want to face in the finals?
A: In terms of strength, I would like the face herO-hyung. I am confident against herO-hyung. If facing herO-hyung in the finals, I will go in with the mindset of claiming the championship. It's much harder if I face Life. Our record against each other is close, and every match against him has been difficult. But from my fans' viewpoint, they should want to see me play against Life.
Q: Aside from your record against Life, what do you think of him?
A: He is an opponent who is difficult to handle. Although looking only at the broadcasted matches, he is weak at ZvP. The main issue lies within me though: I have a weak mindset in PvZ. If I can overcome this, I can totally go into an upward trend [against Z].
Q: What will you be doing after such an amazing day?
A: I will drink with San-hyung and Daisy-hyung, who have came with me to the stadium, until we pass out. I will be paying of course. I plan to be sooo drunk today, then transform into a completely different person going onto the Finals Stage.
Q: Anything you want to say to soO, whom you have a challenging relationship with in the GSL?
A: I tell soO-hyung every day on skype that I want to win the championship. But today soO-hyung sent me a message saying "PartinG, you have to advance today!". Actually soO-hyung always felt that he owes me. If he returns to code S next season, I would be drenched in cold sweat. We are no longer on the same team, and we are not familiar with the other one's style, so I still want to spar with him. If I still lose, then I have nothing more to say.
Q: Anything you want to say at the end?
