So XMG is going the CM Storm route - not a team, but a series of individual sponsorships. I can respect that, particularly since you're being direct about it. Hopefully Socke decides there's still a future for him with the organization as well.

I wouldn't really call it disappointment, but I'd be sad for sure.
Whenever i think of homestory cup the first thing that comes to my mind is XMG and Take's interview/conversation with them :D

Really cool transparency from you guys, good job
Lets hope with the release and Hype of LOTV there will be more opportunities for you guys to work profitably with our scene.

This, this article I like, explaining why you are doing stuff, what's planned and so on. I am so down with that attitude. Really, 10/10 to you. I really hope that 2015 turns into a bumper, good luck to all involved.7

Is this the firt we hear on Apollo being XMG? From what I know he hasn't been on a team before, he is definitely my favorite SC2 personality and caster. Apollo is awesome, can't believe you managed to get him on your team =D congrats

He has a personal sponsorship, he isn't in the team.

Thanks for the post.
XMG really feels like a vital addition to HSC though, I cannot imagine HSC without XMG.

interesting choice of personal sponsorship, but I guess every sponsor has its own policy (Nate should get sponsored as well ). HSC sponsorship is the best decision IMO

Why not openly name these reasons if you are trying to be transparent here? The style of this short part seems a bit in contrast to the rest of the article, which makes it weird.

Why has SC2 got harder to justify for you? I don't think everyone "understands" if you don't at all explain it.

Ok, XMG i'm so disappointed of you.
Taking trash players just because some of them got vagina is not the way you make your team successful

User was warned for this post

While you seem to be an angry person, Maddelisk has a positive attitude, more SC2 skills than you, and good looks.

She got hired maybe also because of her looks? Why don't you sue XMG?

Hey,

The reasons are that the viewership is dropping massively compared to other eSport titles, which makes it hard for me to cross finance our projects external and internally. Also SC2 seems to be a harsher in terms of ROI for us, after all we need to sell 1-2 things in order to maintain our standards in eSport and justify our expenses. Mostly the whole and fall off in terms of social media range and overall CTR is a bit problematic. Call to action does not really work as well as in other titles and the overall interest decreased, yet to get involved into the scene is not that much cheaper.

Yet I am confident that if we do it right, it can still be a lot of fun and helpful to the company in the same time

If anyone only gets on the train which is already moving, one can only be one of many others.

The final expansion of SC2 is not even in beta now. The best days are yet to come. If someone supports the game early, he is not just one of many later.

That's a fair point, but they have not dropped SC2 entirely. They have moved away from players so that they can continue to support their community figures and events (like homestory cup). That's still a large investment from my point of view.

Wow those Madelisk workout videos. She is RIPPED.

XMG probably can't afford to take that chance. Big businesses may sometimes be born the way you describe but so many more fail because they took too many risks that didn't pay off.

Nice to see a honest straightforward statement for once. It's really refreshing ( even in a Monday morning ^^ )
Good luck to XMG in 2015
