There will also be no reason for WCS AM players to ever improve, because they'll be playing against Americans the entire time. There's no challenge. Qxc said it best when he said that they don't need the Koreans OUT of WCS, they need them to stick around consistently enough to raise the level of play. 2) Korea NEEDS another tournament. GSL is NOT enough to saturate the Korean scene and retirements will flood in like crazy if these changes are implemented. There is no chance for 99% of Koreans in GSL and there is no hope for anyone to come through. 3) The WCS finals will be an absolute joke of a tournament. It'll be Americans and Europeans, who had neither incentive nor possibility to improve getting absolutely SLAUGHTERED by the best of the best Koreans. That's not interesting. You can have that at any given foreign event. Blizzcon loses its status as the biggest finals of the year to just another weekend tournament where you'll already be able to narrow down the winner to about 5-10 players, depending on how many good Koreans make it. HORRIBLE changes in my opinion. Oh? I though players want to win! Maybe I was mistaken.

This could increase the level in EU/NA regions so much that it would be no longer crucial to bring korean players in our countries to raise the overall level.

No, thanks. Also, if not being region locked, what do these WCS tournaments represent? The best player Europe has to offer? Nope, it's more like 'the best player that happened to be in Cologne on July 6 2014'.

3) The WCS finals will be an absolute joke of a tournament. It'll be Americans and Europeans, who had neither incentive nor possibility to improve getting absolutely SLAUGHTERED by the best of the best Koreans. The WCS finals are a joke already. MC, Hyun and Stardust are the top three in current WCS rankings. Soo might not make it. Pretending like the current iteration of WCS has anything to do with competitive integrity is preposterous. The point system is horribly broken, this won't change that situation one bit. All it will mean is that EU and NA players actually have something realistic to play for now. I completely agree that WCS grand finals should be the best of the best, but neither this system nor the 2015 one will facilitate that. The issue lies with point distribution, not region locking or lack thereof.

I read them a lot where athletes have their residence in China or Vietnam just to live out their dream. Don't blame me for forgetting their names Actually, the analogy applied correctly to this scenario is non-koreans moving to Korea to become the best they can be (like Jinro/Idra/Haypro/TLO in early SC2)... not getting hand outs from Blizzard

As far as I know, having Koreans leave Korea to participate in foreign events increases the level of foreign play. So, by moving to WCS AM / EU, Koreigners help lift the load from Korea and at the same time, they're beneficial to the scene they're in. This is because they ladder, interact with the scene and so on. The level of play goes up and you'll see that all the good foreigners are actually happy with this. Why break something that isn't broken? This is just a huge middle finger to all the Koreans who took the time to participate in WCS foreigners, in particular Axiom who just received a huge slap in the face. Blizzard's justification of this is non-existent. So screw you blizzard. 1) Not sure why you pick out statements and ask question that I already elaborated in the very same post. Yes, the majority of the Koreans in EU already do that. Others, like Mvp and San don't. It would be cool if they moved here and not only play here because of WCS regions restrictions are completely arbitrary. 2) Yes, but residency requirement to complement that is reasonable. I don't argue with that at all in my post. This isn't the part that is broken. 3) Axiom: That is true and sad. That's why it would have been much better if these rules would be there from the beginning, so Koreans wouldn't need to always gamble on what Blizzard might or might not do in the future.

Hyun fighted around 5 months with visa to get a 1year housing permission in germany. 90days might not be difficult, it begins at 180days.

It can be also a little bit of a problem for NA. While Europe should be quite fine already having few good players around (Snute, MC, StarDust and so on), it may become difficult for NA to keep up the high level without almost any Koreans. Of course there are people like Scarlett, Polt or ViOlet but I'm not sure about this. We'll see.

WCS America will be pretty unfair without coreans. WCS Europe it's different because there are lots of european players that can compete against coreans. Thats it TW/China and the SEA region still belong to WCS NA. Polt and Violet are still there. Having a WCS NA with 14 Koreans, 1 Chinese dude and 1 Juan was bad. It was bad for the scene it was supposed to support, and that had to be changed somehow. Will the overall skill level in EU and particularly NA drop as a result of this? Indisputably. But it's also a necessary change, and those are often painful.

Like that we will still have the MMA/MC/Stardust in EU and Polt/some axiom guys? in NA. Without having a R016 full of korean. Finally this nonsense is over! Now having GSL waaaaaaaay more points for ppl particpating in(Like RO8 2 on 3 times can go to blizzcon right away). And we will have a reasonnable Blizzcon. 2015 More forigners In the front scene! Finally those guy will have the impression to fight for something they can achieve (without having to train 3 years like a robot!) Players with personnality plz!
