:D Well HSC 20-7 DH 17-0 WCS 4-0
The ELO rank has no choice but to skyrocket. Worth to note that TaeJa's current ranking is a peak in HotS and 40 points above second highest peak of INnoVation.

Awesome, TaeJa is a beast these days.. I'd say he's taking names, but he doesn't care what your name is, he will just win and move on.
Bomber vs. Team Axiom looks interesting.. But I'm sure he will manage.
So I fully expect a Bomber v. TaeJa final. But who knows, I am often wrong and Violet could make a big upset.. Looking forward to it, to be sure.

Taeja vs Alicia finals with Taeja taking it! Gonna be sick

in the next 2 seasons... will be WCS AM RO16 all korean affair~ i believe

ELO rank is rather dumb since cant players go practically 40-0 versus mediocre players but then someone else goes like 40-10 versus elite players and he would have a lower score right?

Its not about stats, but dependent on opponents elo. If someone with 2500 elo loses against 1100 elo, he will lose more points than the 2200elo guy vs the same 1100elo guy.

Bomber told me TvP is in a pretty good place these days and he lost to Alicia last season 3-2 so I have a good feeling he will win this time around

It depends. Not necessarily - it depends on the rating of said player and what is ELO ranking difference between "mediocre" and "elite".
I will give you example but please spare me counting for 40-0 and I will give you 4-0 and 4-1.
Assume that mediocre player is ~2100 ELO (it's 100 point above starting ranking of 2000) while elite is ~2300 (currently top 10 players are 2300+). Let then assume that said player is in between so ~2200 and obviously I will round those numbers to 2100, 2300 and 2200 respectively.
I will assume that constant is 32 - I don't remember what value is used for TLPD.
If said player will go 4-0 against 2100.
Against 2100 the expected result of said player - let call him T - is E = 1 / 1 + 10^(-1/4) = 1 / 1 + 0.562 = 1 / 1.562 = 0.64 The actual result is 1 so the ranking will improve to 2200 + 0.36 * 32 = 2212. The follwoing victories will net him slightly less then this 12 points as he actually improved his ranking but I will round it up for his benefit to 2248.
Now against 2300 opponents. His E = 1 / 1 + 10^(1/4) = 0.36. After first win he will get 0.64*32 or 20 points and land 2220. The second result will net him around 19 points so 2239. The next will result in 18 points so 2257. The last game - after some roundings - will net him again 18 points and so after going 4-0 he will end up with 2275 points. Now the rating will be affected by when he lost his match. The most damaging result would be to loose at the end so now - but at this points loosing to "elite" player will net him just -15 points - the end result is 2260 points so full 12 points ahead of going 4-0 against mediocre players. If he started with a loss and then went 4-0, the T fighting elite players would be even further ahead.
The problem with ELO is that it balances itself through games played. The round robins and swiss format is best suited and obviously if the scene is fragmented like SC2 scene is now (NA / EU / Korea) it's another issue as the regions may be inflated compared to each other (like NA may involve a lot of players and so their best players will have very high ELO but there won't be enough inter region games to "transfer" excessive points to Korea to balance that).
ELO is not dumb - you simply don't understand how it works.

this is amazing, wow

viOLet vs Major was an amazing series <3

Since its America it should be "7/5"

Really happy with the bracket, despite the Bomber/Alicia rematch. I think the whole rest of the tournament is gonna be so sick
|
Whoever comes out from the bottom half of the bracket is going to have a massive momentum.
|
That was one hell of a long day! Taeja's matches were like an orca playing with a seal though.
|
I also think the second half of the bracket is stacked as hell. Hyun, the defending champion, the online king and 2# in WCS standings Polt, 2 times champion and always consistent Taeja, the man on fire, looks invincible (on a streak of 26 maps in offline tournaments) Pigbaby, kespa player, the dark-horse of the tournament
Actually, the whole ro8 is amazing but I'm really curious to watch Polt-Hyun and Taeja-Pigbaby.

Bomber's macro is always the most outstanding part of his play, but from past games, he seems to lose against Z and P when they do ling and zealot runbys. He doesn't lift his OCs or run his SCVs away, and they just end up all dying. He does one last desperation push that if it doesn't work, he taps out.
I think Bomber's biggest area of improvement is his multitasking, especially when he's getting harassed.

Group D Pics
Group D pics are now up! Lots of Taeja! Some Violet pics! And even Polt making an appearance!

Forgot about the Polt cast! I actually really like his insight.

TaeJa is on fire lately. Almost 30 straight map wins in premier tournaments. Odds to win the WCS America title imo:
1. TaeJa (unbeatable right now) 2. Polt (Captain America... he's won half of the WCS Americas) 3. Hyun (Defending champ) 4. Alicia (underrated Toss lately. He's been very consistently good) 5. Heart (This guy is on another level lately) 6. Bomber (Which Bomber will show up?) 7. Pigbaby (Seems good but how good is he?) 8. viOLet (Deserves to be here but I think he's the most vulnerable)

It is possible to get an all Terran semi. That would be hilarious.
