http://www.ongamers.com/articles/esgn-apologizes-says-all-debts-will-be-paid-in-june-players-respond/1100-1620/

onGamers has learned that four seasons of Fight Night are still owed - Hearthstone Season 5 & 6, StarCraft Season 2, and Street Fighter Season 3. Contracts for each of the games obtained by onGamers state that all players and broadcasters were to be paid out 15 days after the content aired with the submission of an invoice.

Following the reports, Clauf/ESGN CEO Jong Hwan Lee sent onGamers a statement yesterday evening to apologize and detail their plans moving forward. Foremost of which is that ESGN states they will settle all owed payments to employees and contractors by the end of June. Statement posted in link above.

Came here to comment on the "...everyone will be pain" but got ninja'd. Good to see people are being paid at least.

Also confirmed in this article - GEM clients (funded by Sapinda along with ESGN, Azubu) earned no special privileges in terms of their players or casters getting paid, as MVP/NesTea/Nick/Dan all still owed money.

Will they keep their promise this time? I guess we'll find out in the next episode of "ESGN is a totally legitimate business"

I like how he talks endlessly about people critizising esgn for their content when really people are only upset about the missing payments. He doesnt adress the reasons as to why exactly they got delayed, apart from that league of legends part.
I am not very pleased with that statement tbh..

I'll believe it when I see it.
You should not have to pay to watch the GSL, Proleague, or OSL at a reasonable time. That is not "fine" and it's BS to say otherwise. My sig since 2011. http://www.youtube.com/user/dabom88

If a company has such a reputation, how can they still keep on being around?

because people dont care. they had a reputation before esgn even existed and everyone who has been a part of their project decided that a nice trip to germany (and the possibility of getting paid) was worth more than keeping their hands clean.

and the community seems to support this. everyone is 99% sure this money is dirty if not outright illegal but the consensus seems to be that if you can get a piece of the pie then thats great for you.

Because players are absolutely terrible at making business decisions. They go to events that have no intention of ever paying them, they join teams that clearly don't have the resources to support them, and they join management groups that don't have the business knowledge to see through the various scams.

You act like they're piles of cash lying around everywhere. The industry is contracting. It's either retire or take any paycheck you can.
