Hi guys, yoeFWBreAKer here and I've been taking a while to get settled in and take care of myself here in Taiwan, but I finally found an opportunity to give interviews to my teammates, yoeFWHas, YoeFWIan, and yoeFWSlam who have all qualified for WCS NA Challenger League Season 2 2014.

+ Show Spoiler +
Ian:
Slam:
Ian:
Slam:
Ian:STlife,
Has: LiquidHerO~
Has:TESL
Ian:
Has: 沒有
Has: 要
Ian:
Has: 沒有
Ian:
Slam:
Has: 玩手機.
Ian:
Slam:
Has: 會
Enjoy it !

Me:So, all three of you qualified for WCS America 2014 Season 2 challenger league. How do you feel?
Slam: I hope I can see you guys in the offline portion!
Ian: I'm really excited, I hope I can make it in to the top 16!
Has: I'm happy to remain qualified, and I hope that this season I will perform better.

Me:What do you guys really like to eat? Personally, I love chicken steak.

Slam: I really like pearl milk tea.
Ian:I also like Chicken steak, and I also really like pearl milk tea.

Has: I really like Italian noodles.

Me: Has, Slam, Ian, can you give us a one by one explanation of when you became pro gamers and the time you guys joined Flash Wolves? [Flash Wolves used to be known as Iron Men]
Slam: When I became a pro gamer, I had joined Gamabears. Afterwards JoJo came to me and asked me to join Flash Wolves.
Ian: In July of 2011 I became a pro gamer. At the time we were known as Iron Men, I became a player in training. A month later, I became a pro and the team became as it is today.
Has: When I was 16 years old, I got picked up by JoJo.

Me: Do you guys have a favorite pro gamer?
Slam: I really like those truly and extremely talented players, like stephano. I remember looking at some of his old interviews and he said he only played 3 or 4 hours a day and was able to make achievements like these! It makes me so jealous!
Ian: STLife, I really like his aggressive macro style.
Has: LiquidHerO

Me: Can you guys tell me what your most proud achievements are in your eSports careers?
Slam: I think it would have to be going to Shanghai's offline tournament as a part of WCS [2012?]. At the time there were so many competitors from China and Korea and we would always see players at peak performance. I've always wanted to do that kind of thing.
Ian: Presently, that would be making it to the round of 8 in WCG (2013).
Has: Taking third prize in TeSL

Me: I tell everyone that eSports in Taiwan really has potential to become as big as it is in Korea, but I think the biggest problem working against it is immigration. Right now there are no non-Taiwanese players that are able to obtain visas to play SC2 or LoL. Do you think if the government just corrected its immigration policies a bit, then there would be more and more foreign teams going to Taiwan to train for SC2? I mean, living in Taiwan is actually cheaper than living in Korea by a long shot, and the internet here isn't that bad.
Slam: Players can obtain a work visa can't they? As for casters and hosts, I don't know.
Ian: Playing with all the players in the world is, of course, great. But the government doesn't support us. If we had more industrial support then perhaps it would be feasible. Like the Korean government's massive support [for esports] facilitates the world's highest palace serving the people fully deserving without any reservations.
Has: I don't know anything about this.

Me: So, of the three of you, has anyone been to Korea for training before?
Slam: No, but I did live at IG's training house [in Shanghai] for about about a month. Basically the quality of training between Taiwan and China's players is about the same. But the Korean training houses I think must be more harsh...
Ian: Nope.
Has: Nope.

Me: Do you think Taiwan should have a few more Terran players? Right now TeSL doesn't even have a single Terran.
Slam:
Ian:Surely. But Taiwan's terrans are so few because Sen and Has took the lead for so many players as examples of heros, the only Terran was softball and he already retired, and TeSL doesn't quite frequently stream this game (to twitch) so there is very little exposure.
Has: We need them.

Me: Besides playing Starcraft, do you guys play other games?
Slam: Occasionally I'll play some CS:GO, I think this game's play is very interesting... it's a nice way to vent some steam.
Ian: No, at most I'll play a few cell phone games.
Has: Nope.

Me: If you could change one thing about starcraft 2 at all, what would it be and why?
Slam: Mainly just direct balancing problems, for example if a protoss takes a warp prism to a zerg's main and drops even a single forcefield. While throwing down that said forcefield, zergs simply cannot counterattack unless they are ready from the beginning to deal with that kind of strategy. But there are too many strategies, and the things that need to be prevented in game are too many. With this kind of strategy it leaves no room for zergs to make mistakes, I think it's a little too strong.
Ian: Zerg units have very little changes to them. Early game strategies aren't very intimidating. I hope there can be a few more changes!
Has: I have nothing to say about that.

Me: How do you think we can improve the starcraft 2 scene overall?
Slam: I think when barcodes started coming out it was a little boring, this game became a came that wasn't so relaxed.
Ian: There are very few starcraft 2 teams in Taiwan, and in order for team leagues to be sustainable, they need television stations to broadcast them here. Even some teams internally may not be able to communicate well. They need a public relations knowledge, and experts to share knowledge with each other in clans and understanding as well. Only this will take starcraft 2 to a whole new level in Taiwan.
Has: Go ask JoJo about it.

Me: Do you guys have anything unrelated to eSports that you like to do?
Slam: go to the gym, practice my English, and read all kinds of books that can elevate my level of thinking.
Ian: Watching movies, go to scenic places.
Has: Playing with my phone.

Me: Do you think there is a way to increase Taiwan's visibility in the eyes of our western friends?
Slam: In Taiwan if we had a world champion like 2012's League of Legends tournament that Taipei Assassins won, that might do it.
Ian: By holding international tournaments like the one between root and yoe operated by 4gamers.
Has: By joining foreign tournaments and producing good results.

Me: Do you guys think all three of you will be able to make it in to WCS NA Premier League 2014 Season 2?
Slam: I hope so!
Ian: This will depend on the luck of our grouping, maybe everyone is strong enough to get in.
Has: Yes.

Me: Do you have anything else you would like to say to our western friends?
Slam: I hope I can see you all at WCS's offline portion!
Ian: Thank you everyone for loving this game and letting me enjoy it!
Has: I hope you all like my style, yoe Flash Wolves is a really great team!

The tips of my fingers hurt from the translation. Now standing by for your criticisms of my translation! But for now I'm going to run and grab some chicken steak! :D

Completely agree, he has such an interesting play-style, apparently it is not representative of his personality

Has just beat Sase 4:0 in TESL. He has improved so much. Everyone thought he can only play cheesey games, but in fact, he can play a macro game very well as well. It looks he will be the best sc2 player in Taiwan, just a matter of time.
