This thread is inspired by the old 1000 tips thread, that isn't really updated anymore. Here's the game:
Everyone contributes a tip/trick/trivia that has one. You must include source information that I can use to verify it or it won't be included in the OP. I will update the OP with the facts I have verified and will be voted on to decide which ones get put into the latest Fast Facts video on Tutorial Central Sc2.
@Ghan oooo, I suppose you're right. I'll reword it to be more accurate. Maybe, "The Colossus is the only unit that can always be hit by every attack in the game"? any flaws with that?

You can also dodge them by picking up the targeted unit with a Medivac/Overlord/Warp Prism, right? Also, what about Vikings changing modes or Templars merging?
and this is why I verify before the video. gold mineral bases provide less income in total because there are less mineral patches 6*1500 vs 8*1500. Also gold minerals mine out faster because of this. I'll be replacing that fact with the baneling fact that admiral posted (forgot to add it to the poll). Still in the verification process, so get your votes in now!
The Facts have been chosen, we will release the video tomorrow morning. Thanks to everyone for contributing.
The next poll will get posted tomorrow (that way we can have a week of voting instead of a day. All submissions will be included in the poll that happen between now and then, so post fast facts you think should be in the next video now
Not so popular but interesting tips for Zerg (and others, but more usefull for zerg)
1) Shift-clicking (2-5 times or more) on scv-builder with your drone will force drone to follow that SCV around the building in process and not react to incoming SCVs
2) doing extractor-trick cancels enemy worker following order. I.e enemy "attached" his worker to your scouting Drone. Do an extractor trick and following order will be canceled untill enemy clicks on your worker again. You're paying just 6 minerals for resetting enemy worker order status. Sometimes it worths it.

I think when most people hear the word "income" they think of something like "minerals per minute", and not the total amount of minerals you can mine from a base. So this is a matter of semantics rather than facts.
Can you point out in the next Fast Facts that Brood Lords can be microd if you don't wait for the broodlings to fire before moving it... Brood Lords can surprisingly stutter step really well but I never see them used properly.
Any fast facts posted after this post will be added to the poll for Fast Facts #13. Thanks to everyone for participating! Keep your fast facts coming!!
Assign "Choose Target for ability or A.I" command to worker mining command, so you can just select your worker, mouseover on mineral patch and hold that harvest-resource-command. Result - worker will instantly try attach that mineral patch, so no need to constantly clicking on that mineral patch to attach 2 workers to one patch
Another simple tip to save Swarm Hosts against Ravens is Nydus Worm. If you will always have Nydus Worm nearby your Swarm Hosts, you can save them from tons of splash damage that Seeker Missile can deal to you. Also you can abuse Nydus to drop Swarm Hosts quickly through map: for example drop somewhere, land Locusts and retreat. This is very deadly Zerg weapon that is not so expensive in late game since you're paying only 100 minerals / 100 gas for each SH drop.

Do you mind clarifying? Are you saying that you spam the gather minerals command? Or is there a command titled "choose target for ability or AI" somewhere on the command card that can then be assigned to another command? I'm confused. And this method doesn't require any spamming?

Add "Gather mineral" hotkey to alternate hotkeys of "Choose ability or AI target" and just hold gather mineral command on mineral patch. You will see how it works greatly
The charge surround thing was kind of cute but pretty much useless. Couldn't manage to get any footage demonstrating that it was advantageous so it was cut from the video. Has anyone used this technique in a way that proves its more useful than just A-moving?

Thats is nonsence. Hydra den reqiures Lair itself.

You are obviously not going to be able to take full advantage of these tricks 100% of the time. but on the off-chance you do, its good to know these tips. ofc, nearly everything has a proper counter, these unusual tactics take time to devise solutions, especially in lower leagues.

I should probably elaborate on the "Nydus" trick. It is a head-fake. You use the nydus networks in a maner where it is going to scare the hell out of them, thats why its important to use more than one, You drop 3-4 nuduses in the middle of thier main, they expect an all-out attack in the center of thier base, when in-fact they are totally empty. there are no units in them at all. The real threat is where all their forces withdrew from to fend off the nydus.
This trick has won me several games, with 100% success to achieve what my aims truly were, to destroy their current expos, thus creating a loss they couldn't recover from.
aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh......... I understand now. It wasn't clear before

You can rotate your camera to easily spot non-moving cloaked units. Use it to spot and scan observers before loading a drop or to avoid wasting scans. I saw Polt using this while following him in a replay.
You can abduct burrowed Ultralisks with your Vipers to transport them up a cliff or into an opponents base.. Unburrowed Ultralisks, however, can't be abducted. (Ultralisks lose their "Frenzied" passive ability when they burrow.)
I'm guessing Blizzard just missed this when they changed the way Frenzied works.
You should probably put # of fungals it takes to kill a Void Ray.
This will surprise many Zerg players in that it's a lot more than they think... I face a lot of Zergs who try to fight my Voids with just good fungals. It doesn't work very well and requires insane precision.
Another minimally used trick IMO is to rally probes to your MSC and recall to a new expansion.
I used to do this to saturate a third base instantaneously but it's now even more useful with the prevalence of island expands. It also enables you to get mining much more quickly from a ninja expansion without potentially revealing it by transferring probes from existing locations the 'old fashioned way'
Not very often you are able to do this, but late in game when you are maxed 200/200 and have a large bank account, you can select all your mining workers, transform them all into spine crawlers, remax with some infestors or other power unit, cancel all your spine crawlers and continue to mine. the highest I ever gotten was 200/235.
Most the time you wont have alot of left-over minerals like that though, especially if you are playing properly. Its a nice trick to keep in mind, its bound to be useful at least once in 50 games.
**Keep in mind this is borderline exploitation. I wouldn't abuse this in ladder matches out of respect for the other player.**

pros do that every now and again, it does not break the game or anything. It's no different than terrans sacking scvs and living by mules late game.
you can semi-dodge a widow mine shot by cloaking (burrowing too i think) a unit at the right time, and thus avoiding the full damage. you will still take the 35 splash damage. usefull for banshee harass in tvt
I have a more effective way of spreading creep now. slow-walk a queen in an uncommonly walked path before you start your lair. time it to where the queen is in position by the time the lair is done and have an overlord in position and drop creep. (Now that one I have never seen!)

Not sure if this is worth mentioning but i found it interesting. Immortals Hardened Shield treats Oracles Pulsar Beam weapon as a spell that does 15 damage, even though it is a weapon that needs to be activated. So you can drain immortals shield really quickly with oracles.
Starcraft 2 HotS has 5 transformer units: Warp Prism, Hellion/Hellbat*, Siege Tank, Thor, Viking They all have some ability which changes their wireframe art and stats (movement speed, attacks, health etc.)
Fact: There are differences in when stats and wireframe change for different transformers during transformation. + Show Spoiler [Specifics] +
Warp Prism
Instant stats and wireframe
Hellion/Hellbat
Instant stats (name, health, armor type, attack, movement speed)
Wireframe at the end of transformation
Siege Tank
Slight delay for both wireframe and stats when sieging
Instant stats and wireframe during unsiege
Thor
Stats and wireframe at the end of transformation
Viking
Instant attack and wireframe
Slightly delayed movement speed
Instant is not actually instant, as there will always be a delay. It's simply very fast. Note that changes in the movement speed stat, does not mean that the unit can move. Every transformer is immobile until the end of transformation.
Map used: Unit Test Map, authored by meum (EU arcade map) Own perception used to record differences in delay
*Hellbats can be seen as a different unit from Hellions, but for this facts purpose, they're not.

I've seen TLO do this along with doing the hatch trick. Its a really cool and good trick (esp. if your creep spread is lack luster)

I posted a fact about hiding a dark shrine but the whole text was too long. Here's the short version: Build a hidden dark shrine anywhere via warp prism+probe. Power is only needed to start building.
Please change the description to the shortened one. This little fact advertises another stealthy aspect of the stealthy dark templar even their buildings are sneaky!
This is probably a bug, but you can semi-permanently rotate your camera to either to the left or right without holding down a key.
Set Rotate Left/Right to any modfier + any key, e.g. Ctrl+Z
In game, Hold down Ctrl+Z. Now release Ctrl before Z, then release Z
Your camera should now be rotated to either the left or right without you holding down any key.
Canceled by opening the main menu, opening a chat (default: enter), or rotating in the same direction, but releasing the key before the modifier. I.e. you'll have to be pretty quiet if you want to keep your camera rotated.
Applications:
Enjoy Starcraft from a new perspective.
Possibly avoid hidden widow mines more easily during a planned attack, e.g. Oracle to the main base/Mutas harass.
Abuse certain map layouts to give you a better point of view of the battlefield.

I'd pitch the idea to blizzard, but they're in super crunch time mode right now (and likely will be until LotV release) and I don't want ask them to take their time away from that. I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future though!
As far as the multihit, I vaguely remember this being the old way (its possible for only one blade to hit) and they changed it to the way it is now intentionally, but Its a very vague and inaccurate memory that I'm not willing to rely on. Do you remember anything like that, or do you know what patch that was?

no, i only remember the charge patch to always guarantee a hit resulting in the bug of charging all over the map. however, i think this is at least a glitch. if an scv is inside a bunker, it shouldnt die.
/edit: are you talking about the zealot specifically or multihit attacks in general? i was able to recontruct the same thing with two thors and a medivac. a thors hits the other one one time, the other one gets picked up but still gets hit the second time although it is in a medivac already
btw i found another bug in my last game, maybe you can look at that + Show Spoiler +
There seems to be misconception about the way MULEs mine minerals, that I would like to get rid of: Multiple MULEs CAN mine from the same mineral field at the same time. That being said, MULEs will still try spread out evenly across nearby mineral fields. I confirmed this by runnnig some tests in a custom game and then in the "hots unit tester online v1.3" ( battlenet://starcraft/map/2/139457 on EU).
@nQL I did more testing, in order for MULES to mine over each other there has to be no available mineral patches the moment they hit the patch. Its possible, but requires a loooot of mules. Gonna get some more specifics and make a video.
You should cover experience points. For you can see if a terran building burned down or got repaired through the fog of war by using experience points. Or you can see how many units you killed with a widow mine through the fog of war by showing experience points. Units and buildings have unique experience given but I have never given the time to see how much each specific unit gives and you could possibly identify what units you killed by looking at the experience.
