You could just reduce the energy cost and duration of chrono boost if it's too easy... force the protoss player to spend more time on it?

Not to beat a dead horse, but no-automine is very clean and functional. There are reasons why we wouldn't want it in the game, but still, if a macro mechanic isn't at least better than manual rally you need to go back to the drawing board.
Inject larva in sc2 to me is broken because you can nearly automate it with clever hotkey setups, I hope starbow macro mechanics avoid this.

Really try to push getting this up and running on KR server before 2.1, if at all possible

At the start of the thread people were saying how 200/200 feels low. After watching quite a bit of streams I still feel that the mod would benefit of increasing the pop limit. Nothing drastic, 250/250 would be too much imo but somewhere in the 225 area as though it doesnt sound like an elegant number.

I think when people feel 200/200 being low, I think its mostly due to the resolution that SC2 runs at that covers much more of the map. The native resolution of Brood War was 800x600 which made armies look much bigger on screen. Whether this means that making the supply cap bigger would be a benefit is still to be seen.

250/250 may mean potential performance problems (which also results in little to no micro) and also a possible balance problem, but that needs further testing.

I used a 22" and now a 23" monitor I (Zerg) was wondering "what the hell where is my 200/200 army, this cant be my 200/200, I must have forgot a small group somewhere". Protoss army looks bigger in 23" than in 22"

But even if we allow for eyecancer inducing rocks, they would have to show up through creep. Why not make them buildable for now? Uprouting spines feels so misleading. I do not want to open every map and check where I can build and where I can`t for ten minutes.

I like that Starbow is not immune to balance and design whine/objections, hopefully it won't come to dictate the community discussion. Looking forward to seeing where this goes =)

After watching and playing StarBow I don't want to come back to old SC2 anymore, I simply love it (but I miss the Phoenixes and Hellions)
I only wanted to post something a friend was saying about feeling that Protoss is missing some inmmediate T2 unit from Robo, and it is weird, I do not agree with him really, but I am posting it just to see what most of you think about it.
|
If Zergs like it (such as Losira) - then everyone likes it.. Pretty sure.. However - myself still not used to slow speed-Zealots though.. ![](/mirror/smilies/puh2.gif)
And yah - I really hope they make some more unique and cool macro-mechanic (or not necessarily macro-mechanic, but mechanic that if you use repeatedly and on time - will give you more macro power - whether that being more units, or more resources) for each race.. Everyone having the "chrono" just doesn't seem right IMO

I guess some protoss just simply miss the feeling of having "power overwhelming" army. They kinda feel "naked" and unsecured when playing without hard counters.

What do you mean? The Protoss BW army is definitely more "power overwhelming" than the SC2 when they did not have to compensate for the ridiculous power of Force Fields and the near instant reinforcement power of Warpgates. Hard counters also exist for every race, not just Protoss (in SC2).
Edit: I'd also be interested to see a map like Andromeda introduced into Starbow. I'm generally curious how mineral only expansions would impact the game. Edit2: For maps that I would sell my soul for to see in Starbow, mine would have to be Triathlon.

I will sell my soul if anyone creates R-Point, Bifrost or Luna with Starbow, these my all time favorite maps.
