Patch that fixes Dark Swarm
Big shoutout to Decemberscalm who solved this!
Dark Swarm who works like in BW I will present the changes he made via his own words: >>>+ Show Spoiler +"Dark Swarm no longer reduces splash damage. Instead I have implemented the BW method for siege tank interaction. Siege tanks will undershoot their target, dealing roughly the same amount of splash damage against targets as in BW. Lurkers and drones do not take splash damage from siege tanks and irradiate. They do get hit by lurkers and firebats. Lurker is given invulnerability from splash fire when burrowed." VOD that explains it: Details about damage:>>> + Show Spoiler + STK=Shots to kill
Brood War Damage Chart Siege Fire vs units under Dark Swarm
Zergling 5 STK Life per shot: 27 19 12 4 0
Hydralisk 4 STK Life per shot: 55 29 4 0
Ultralisk 13 STK Life per shot: 369 338 307 276 245 214 184 153 122 91 60 30 0
Defiler 4 STK Life per shot: 56 31 6 0
Lurker STK Life per shot: 100 76 51 27 3 0
New Version for Starbow Damage Chart Siege Fire vs units under Dark swarm
Zergling 5 STK Life per shot: 26 18 11 3 0
Hydralisk 4 STK Life per shot: 54 29 4 0
Ultralisk 366 333 300 267 Dark Swarm dissapates roughly at the fifth shot
Lurker 5 STK (HP and unit type modified in Starbow) Life per shot: 106 73 40 7 0
Defiler 4 STK Life per shot: 55 31 7 0
As you can see, units take the same amount of shots to kill in both BW and this version.
<<< Comments by me (Kabel): Dark Swarm stats will remain as they are for now - shorter cast range, less duration and lower area, compared to BW. The advantage is smart cast, and earlier the reduction of all splash damage by 50% was also an advantage. But since the latter is no longer the case, DS might need to be adjusted in terms of stats later on. <<<
Lurker stacking: >>>+ Show Spoiler + Apart from that, December also made Lurkers stacking work as in BW: - Lurkers can now burrow on top of each other.
Yesterday I added a version of Lurker stacking that was not as tight as in BW. Lurkers could burrow really close to each other, but not on top of each other. I thought that would look more visually appealing for players and spectators. Although that causes a bug versus splash damage. So instead we can try BW-stacking on Lurkers, to see how it works and feels.

Told you he'd do it! yeah!
edit: So does this mean that Irradiate does not dmg a burrowed unit when I target a Non-burrowed unit thats on top of it?
Other way around, if I Irradiate a burrowed lurker, will the dmg splash?

I see nothing wrong with Creep Tumors giving vision, you don't even always need Scans to contain creep spread, a few Stalkers or Vultures can hinder the spread. Something to compare the Creep Tumor vision would be spider mines, you can easily plant them all over the place and they give vision. Against both you should constantly be sweeping the map. Both Creep Tumors and Spider Mines encourage activity on the map, which imo at least is very good for the game.
Debaters will debate. Aside from that, I don't see a problem with creep spread. It gives NO MOVEMENT SPEED bonus. It's literally just a burrowed zergling at this point that gives some limited map vision and to connect you main and natural so queens can move around easy. After a certain point (15 mins into the game)I find it a usless APM sink. That's really about it. Mid game terran literally has FREE scans to deal with these things, not to mention science vessels. Why are we talking about creep again? lol
edit: I'd even say that it could be possible to give zerg units a SLIGHT SLIGHT SLIGHT movement speed bonus on creep to make the mechanic more interesting. Or something.

So apparently Naniwa quit SC2 because he hates the design of the game. He should try Starbow ^^

He isn't the first one too either, will continue to be plenty who quit solely on that fact.

Well, unfortunately I don't have time to do this very often, so hopefully someone with more time starts with something like this as well.

Just please try to turn down the stream quality a bit, it lags too often. No matter how good the content is, people are not going to watch it if it lags.

OK. I did 1600 x 900 yesterday which was laggy for some.
I'll go 1280 x 720 (or whatever I need the first number to be to have 16 aspect) for this. I did the same for the invitational qualifier and seemed to be smooth. If we get enough viewers then twitch opens for custom quality choice as well.

BTW, contact Naniwa and ask him to come play SB :D
