You may want to add your twitter to the OP so people can follow for updates (this thread doesn't get bumped nearly enough for how great the show is).

seems like lion isnt really that strong in this game, he cant access the sky for crow mallard and eagle, he cant access the snake, and if he leaves to hunt the next round he can easily be shut down by emptying his habitat. It seems like for the lion to win he needs an alliance of feeders to guarantee his return rounds has food. This lion failed because he counted on someone from the other team to be one of his feeders. Seems like he assigned a high value to winning (and assumed others did the same), while the rest of the group assigned a higher value to building alliances. The snake seems like the easiest here, being completely immortal, he simply has to reveal himself to everyone and take away the fear of being poisoned from the predators, then everyone will hunt and the requisite number of deaths will fulfill his win condition. The crow maybe by luck or maybe by skill I feel picked properly, by picking the eagle to win then spending the majority of the time in the sky, he could guarantee food for the only predator that could fly, securing himself the win.

I think the show explained it well - the lion is strong but too straight-forward. He needs to build a fairly specific alliance that breaks up other possible alliances (i.e. immunity alliance) and kill the other predators. The lion got too overconfident and sure of winning after killing Jinho and Boxer, and it was sheer bad luck that he ran into the de facto immunity alliance of the mouse and bird when he needed food the most (to be honest, it doesn't seem like anyone considered the implications of that alliance at all). But the Genius is a kind of game where you generally lose if you try to rely on luck instead of figuring a way around the rules. Snake and crow are OP, but at the same time, they don't get to have much fun. In fairness, I think the crow played it perfectly even if he maybe didn't understand it. His fate was cast early on and it didn't matter what he did, although he helped the snake (and hurt the lion) by basically needling other players with his ignorance into simply killing him off. They didn't even bother to ask him what animal he was or figure out his win condition. We will see in future games if he knows what he's doing. By the way, Sangmin played it perfectly to have Hongchul killed by Jinho. He didn't play much role in all the other deaths but he did curtail Hongchul's move and limit his role as early leader of the game. Also I loved Jinho showing that YellOw micro again. Proper BW zergling micro ftw. On December 10 2013 17:01 Jacmert wrote: There's a Japanese drama series that I watched before, called "Liar Game". Not including him (since he's effectively immortal) that means only 3 other people (3/12) can be alive at the end or he loses. If one or two predators die early on, (imagine lion hits snake and dies, then croc starves both n1, and the other two predators only eat the minimum required, then only 6 people would die total. Or if lion eats the other predators, and 3 of the small animals survive to the end too, then he also loses. He basically needed all the predators to eat several animals each, or he'd lose. Luckily for him, several large predators had an alliance early, so they all lasted quite far in, and yellow took someone with him as he died too, (in part because of sangmins information). I think the only reason he had such an "easy" looking game, was because Lion fucked up and didn't go straight for the other predators. If lion had killed yellow n1, and alligator n2 (he knew who both were from the start,) then there would only have been lions 4 deaths, + 1/2 from the other carnivore, and snake loses. He needed at least 3-4 extra deaths to happen, which he got from getting yellow to kill hongchul, which both got an extra death, and broke up the alliance leading to more miscommunication which got several other people killed too. It was certainly made easier by Lion being cocky and playing it badly though. Compared to the later episodes of the previous season, it all felt a bit more serious/tryhard-y. + Show Spoiler + That big alliance formed almost instantly, and it was sort of yellow and boxer, and the other guys who got ignored, who mad up the second alliance by default. Felt a bit like everyone had watched it on tv, and immediately assumed that "bigger alliances are better," completely ignoring the fact that this game made having certain people on the same team impossible. Hopefully they'll come to realise that large alliances are just as often a disadvantage as they are an advantage, and we'll start seeing all the intrigue again. I'm kinda sad that sangmin got snake, where his best bet was to play passive. If he had a role where he had to interact with people more, then it would have been fun to see how he decided to try to break the alliance up. Also, it felt like that game was rather poorly designed with respect to actually having to physically put stickers on people. It meant that technically, a guy could just grab the stickers and hold them for 10 minutes throughout the killing period, making him immortal if the other person was physically weaker then him. (Or jinho could have just thrown the stickers out the window, killing lion n1 in a kind of bullshit way.) Also at the end, the guy kind of let the girl put the sticker on him, he could easily have just held her arms locked until the timer went out, killing her. It felt like they hadn't accounted for the physical aspect of preventing someone from placing the sticker. Hopefully future games are a bit better designed to avoid awkward situations where people aren't sure how far to go physically.

Do they invite everyone who hasn't been eliminated on air yet? (Including the people who were eliminated on episodes 3-4 weeks ago, but which just haven't aired yet) and if so, how do they answer questions without dropping spoilers. (things like "I got better in the next few episodes" seem rather spoilerish to me.). edit: the qoute and edit buttons are too close together T.T
