It's awesome how Yellow came up with both main strategies (majority-rule and infinite-coins). Hopefully he can overcome everybody going after him!

I remember there are trading card games able to pull of infinity resource or life trick. But usually they can be countered because need some card to synergy. I tink the infinity red coin trick is put there purposely. It isnt a hard to discover combo. Only produce red coin is oso a clue to counter. It really feels like strategy/trading card games, looks bug/imbal , but if u noe the game well, it isn't so bad.

Even without the majority alliance, if he had instead gone with just one person, be it Yoonsun (who could take all his chips to convert to wild cards) or Doohee (who could help him discard chips), he could have won it too. Jiwon's personal bill was not too bad either, in terms of getting some points but almost impossible to emerge as winner, since his chips do not matter to him, unless he gets specifically sabotaged by another who signs a bill to convert all the chips into a colour other than blue. I think Yooyoung is getting scarier by the episode. She did deserve to win or at least not go into the DM in this episode because she put in a lot of effort to pull together an alliance while disrupting others like Yoonsun. However, I do not like the way she played victim when she purposefully ignored Jinho from the onset, and later (after forming her alliance) whined to others that Jinho and Yoonsun ignored her. She even had the cheek to pointedly ask Jinho why he said he would choose her for DM if he was the elimination candidate. You could see that the usually even-tempered Jinho was boiling inside with his curt "Just because" reply. I believe she gave Jinho the short shrift after being 'lectured' by him in the previous episode for her disfavour towards Eunkyul after she accidentally gave him away during the interview with Yoonsun, intentionally ratted him out to Jiwon, and ultimately betrayed him in the DM. I have since named her the black widow of the season.

Yellow's infinite chip insight was brilliant. he always has the flashes of genius like card counting in indian poker and using the backs of the cards in the summation game. Boxer finally got to show his merit. it really was a mistake to pick him for the death match, but Yoonsun didn't know that it would be a strategy game. it seems that Hongchul intimidates people with his charisma and desire to be in the death match, however we've only seen him win the "popularity contest" matches. i'm not sure how well he would do in a skill based one even if he always has the mental edge. Yooyoung is looking really strong. i think that it will be her and Yellow in the finals The preview for next week looks great. the divide between the broadcasters and non-broadcasters will finally take place and it seems that the token of immortality will play a huge part in it.

Boxer finally had the chance to show his brilliance. He really was poor at forming strategy around people/forming alliances(but i suspect the celebrity alliance is the reason). I'd be pissed if Sangmin tricked him.

No one can refuse her anything otherwise they might anger the insiders. Poor Yoonsun gave her heart out to play the games but everyone just refuse to cooperate with her. Shes now the only female of the cast, perfect way to increase her profile. After 5 episodes without a single broadcaster (plus doohee) eliminated, yellow and boxer are now left alone and seriously doubt their chances

Sangmin's card only seems overpowered because he made it through while none focussed on taking him down. He could easily have been taken down with Boxer's card for example. His card is also only good for reaching 50 points, that's his entire play, he can hardly be flexible with it. Then again, it's a card that needs defense through an alliance, and that's his strong point.

I'm utterly disappointed by both ep 5 games design. Sangmin's personal bill was complete bullshit. He literally not needed anyone and little to no effort to rack 50 points just like that. He only needed to sign/veto 2 times, one with and then one without wildcard to lose his chips and win the 50 points. Who seriously thought that would be fair/dynamically interesting. Sangmin seems always get perks that make him practically invulnerable during the main matches, such as getting the snake on ep1. And that deathmatch clearly favoured boxer whose been playing games practically all his life against a lawyer whose strengths rely on linguistic skills and talking/negotiating with people. This previous post theory gets stronger by every episode: On December 31 2013 19:52 DaftFunk wrote: SPOILERS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ everyone here is right about the betrayal of Eunkyul. I felt the same way and had the same though process of Jinho. You just dont do that.. i dont feel bad for him necessarily but its really disgusting to see them basically give him away little by little as if his contribution did nothing for them. if they didnt want his deal, they shouldnt have LET HIM CHEAT FOR THEM or NOT AGREE TO HIS PLANS!!!! but what bugs me more.... are these stupid "Deathmatches", where its now become more of a popularity contest. I wholeheartedly believe the producers pull out the "SUN MOON STAR" game whenever a popular contestant goes to the deathmatch. **** If you guys didnt know this before, but noh hongchul and jiwon are both really famous in korean television. i know people in this thread only see him as the guy in the gangnam style music video, but he is actually on... lets say ryan seacrests level of fame in korea in terms of exposure. so while 80% of these other contestants here are really nobodies, hes actually a huge star of the show. so its not a coincedence as to why you guys like him so much... he also DOES have great charisma and personality. ji won is also really popular and could be the second most famous person on the show right now. hes been in so many tv shows already with other famous people in korea and is really funny (he plays that "im kind of slow" character a lot). side note hes related to the last korean president which could also be why hes so rich... so while someo f you might not have seen them before this season, but i was geniunely surprised they managed to get 2 of these stars onto the show. that also really explains why i believe the producers (and by now you should realize they always choose which deathmatch game gets to be played at the END of the episode, not preset) choose the sun moon star game. it has no luck. theres VERY LITTLE SKILL involved, which is only the bluffing aspect. but that will not affect the outcome so much as to help you win. the OTHER PLAYERS practically choose who they want to have stay. OBVIOUSLY the majority of people will help jiwon, not only because eunkyul backstabbed his team, but because jiwon has MORE FRIENDS, MORE POPULAR, (not to mention, would you look at how that lawyer ALWAYS goes to the side with the first deathmatch contestant to make sure she doesnt get picked???? even when she gets picked for DM, she does her puppy eyes and tries to gains everyone support. reminds me on kyungran from season 1 all the time..) and bottom line he is MORE FAMOUS than the magician. and trust me.. koreans feel the same way about illusionists in korea the same way we do here in the us with MINDFREAK CHRIS ANGEL or DAVID ZOMGMAGIC COPPERFIELD.. its kind of corny. bottom line the deathmatches seem to be brought out whenever a star of the show is in jeopardy. and theres nothing genius about it at all. in fact it ruins the future episodes as now as someone pointed out there is going to be a more tightly knit team of those same group of people and kind of destroys the fun. too bad it probably wont beused as a deathmatch anymore because its getting into the mid stages of the season and they cant keep pulling it off. yes im bitter. not because i liked the magician (like i said, i think theyre corny), but they AGREED to his proposition when they followed his plans, and they all except yellow and junghyun intentionally gave him away when jiwon had to choose his opponent. beyond that, yellow looks to be in strong contention to win again. its shocking to see how much of a joke boxer is. i wont sugar coat it, sorry guys. but boxer plain isnt the genius we expected him to be. I'm pretty sure Jinho is a fan favourite, as it happens to be mine as well. So preventing boxer dying would raise the chances of a much acclaimed LimJinRok just for fan service, rather than play it right and give a fair chance to everyone. Also that laser chess game potential was really nice. The variables you can achieve with multiple reflections / reflecting the enemy laser in your favour it's great. For me it killed it that pieces could only move 1 space at a time and had to choose between moving, or rotating 90º. That slows down the game a lot and hinders the potential of the nice strategy present in chess for having pieces with different moving patterns. Also the laser being confined in a corner and being able to block it was what made this week's game the most lamest and underwhelming of all deathmatches, at least for me. Both lasers should start on the 2x2 middle square of a chess board. Each laser on an opposite corner of that square, and a blocking piece at the side of the laser to prevent aiming it directly towards the opponent. That way the laser could have at least 3 openings and being in the middle would mean the laser won't go out of borders with a piece in front blocking it. And last of all, thank you clefairy so much for the subbing, I know how tedious it can be.

Zombie Game was good for Sunggyu's cunning act and the 5-win situation that was meticulously worked out, something that is sorely lacking in this season. I also like the 5vs5 episode for how Jinho (and to a lesser extent Sangmin with that bracelet) created circumstances to win instead of being restricted to the passive method of digging info from the guests or visual cues from observation.

+ Show Spoiler + It feels to me like Yoonsun really lost her cool throughout the episode. She kept going around sharing her bill with others, apparently not realising that she was just setting herself up to fail that way. The way to win a game like this is to keep your own bill secret at all cost, and then pass global bills which seem innocuous but actually set up your victory. I think the ones who won rightfully did so by keeping their bill secret, including Hongchul's brilliant trick with taking a photo of the congressman's bill and passing it off as his own. Back to Yoonsun this is what she should've done (admittedly I wouldn't have come up with this if it wasn't for Yellow's genius): 1. Find at least two trustworthy allies. Like say Jinho and the Congressman. 2. Pass a bill that says: All players can now freely give other players chips and wildcards. Use all your signs. 3. Now rearrange the chips amongst your team so everyone only has chips of one colour, or so everyone has chips of different colours. This rearranging is just a cover to get Yoonsun more wildcards. 3. With the new wildcards force a bill through that allows you to exchange Wildcards for chips. (I don't know what the rules were for suggesting duplicate bills. If they're lax they could just suggest variations that do the same thing. If they're more stringent they would have to get some extra allies or else use other bills to force people to use up their veto's. Like say a "Yoonsun and Jinho are granted 1000 points" bill.) 4. Enjoy infinite chips, then use them to bribe as many of the others as possible to join your team. 5. Enjoy victory. I really felt while watching the episode that Yoonsun got tunnel vision on finding the person who could trade so they would team up. It was Yoonsun who in Ep 1 was the mouse, but caused her 'natural ally' the lion to lose. I thought she knew that finding good players as allies to work with is more important than finding your 'natural ally' within the game. As is she let so many people see her card, that once she found her 'natural ally' it was so transparent to everyone what she was doing that she got blocked automatically. As I said in the beginning, the trick to winning Free For Alls is to avoid becoming the target till it's too late, if it's too obvious what you're doing you'll immediately find yourself opposed by an alliance of convenience.
