+ Show Spoiler + OK. Time to start my rage post. Rule breaker. As long as you don't break the rules, you can do whatever you want to win the game. But stealing your opponent's card so that he can't PARTICIPATE in the game is something else. I've been quite mad about season 2 lately. It's not because people that I like are gone from the show (rather, people that I liked originally are still on the show except Duhee). It's because they're just grouping up and then starting to eliminate those that are not within the group (the entertainer group *COUGH*). I'm quite pissed that BoxeR gave away the Immortality thing to Sangmin, but that's part of the game (and since he's not part of the "group") so I won't say much about that (This is more because I wanted YellOw or Duhee to get the mark). What Jiwon did to forcefully get Duhee to deathmatch and Sangmin to semi-force YellOw to face him in the deathmatch is what really pisses me off the most. It's like in order to get to later stages of the game, they have to suck up to others and hope that they don't lose the game to get into deathmatch. Even then, the deathmatches in this season were quite shit except for the 3rd one and the 5th one. Deathmatches are supposed to test the person's strength, not to test how many friends the person has within The Genius. Doing this in first few games is okay, but overusing it (ESPECIALLY USING THE SAME GAME AGAIN WITH SAME DAMN CONCEPT) just ruins the whole show. Someone said on the Korean forums that something huge happens next week, and the PD said that starting next week, its more about individuality rather than surviving the game as a group. Hopefully it goes back to The Genius that I liked before people like Hongchul and Jiwon ruined it. At this rate, if YellOw, BoxeR, or "The Genius" from Ep.7 (will see how 'smart' this person is, could even be yellow again or boxer) is knocked out, I'm pretty much done with the show. Not because I'm a hardcore fan of YellOw and BoxeR, but because the show itself is just terrible compared to Season 1

I haven't watched ep 6, but from your spoiler and the end of ep 5, it seems like the broadcaster group basically forced Yellow, Boxer and Doohee to go to the deathmatch. These things never happened in season 1, because back then the broadcasters (Sangmin, Gura, Kyungran, Eunji) were the minority, and their mindset were to win and have fun as the same time. This season, because that group is so strong (Hongchul, Sangmin, Jiwon, Yooyoung, Junghyun), they can do basically everything if they group up as a team, which was seen in ep 5. Also people like Hongchul makes the atmosphere become so serious. And the deathmatches in season 2 are so alliance-related it's just sad ![]() I wonder if Eunkyul had managed to successfully snipe Jiwon in ep 4, what would have happened?

+ Show Spoiler + Seriously, why is stealing a card allowed? Are they trying to tell us that stealing a card, which at best is a lacking of sportsmanship, is a genius trait? So far season 2 shows that betrayals and alliances are better than an understanding of the game and playing the game itself. Why can't every game they design have some 'deliberate' flaw like the 'open, pass' game. Something that requires true genius to discover and guarantees victory, despite alliances. Seriously getting fed up with the broadcaster alliance, and I can't understand why they do it. Wouldn't it hurt their reputation to the public? This episode had a lot of weird moments. The password 102510 was supposed to be something jinho tried out the previous episode but failed. I can't imagine why would jinho type 10251 if he supposedly fail to open it. Furthermore the immortality token has been demonstrated to have a devastating effect of choosing 2 players to go to deathmatch together. I suspect this will be used to force boxer and yellow to face off. Yoyoung is the favorite of the production just like park eunji was in season1. Look at all the posters etc, yoyoung is always given the prominent shot. You can see the part where doohee choose yoyoung was totally out of the plan, yoyoung veins actually bulged there if u look carefully at the closeup. I applaud doohee trying to force the broadcasters against ea other but end of the day it was obvious broadcasters will stick together and betray him. Shoulda just tried to win deathmatch instead of throwing it away. Makes me feel it might even be scripted since doohee is a contractor to the studio meaning he depends on their contracts.

Notable episodes are 2 where sunkyu was trying to warn poor jinho, 4 where jungmoon/jinho crushed the broadcasters plan, 6 where jinho refuses gura/eunji suggestions to pick kim poong, 7 is obvious leesangmin trying to guide sunkyu to the right answer, 8 for sunkyus independent streak which saved jinho and also how jinho found a semi solution. You can really see that sangmin is the production insider who has a quasi-script how the show should proceeds. Luckily theres sunkyu and jinho which truly made the games fun.

ooh and the preview of episode 7 indicates dice game like crap. I suspect the 'genius' would be along kaiji's trick. Really check out kaiji/akagi/liargame if you like this series. Most of the tricks/games are from those 3 mangas

I'm pretty sure Jinho is a fan favourite, as it happens to be mine as well. So preventing boxer dying would raise the chances of a much acclaimed LimJinRok just for fan service, rather than play it right and give a fair chance to everyone. So you think Koreans like jinho the most, because You like him? Lol. There is a bts in season 1 where eunji didn't even know who yellow was. There's a reason these guys call each other " celebrities " and " non-celebrities" and " broadcasters" etc. You have to really overrate old school bw progamer fame in Korea to think that they are even close to TV stars like sangmin and hongchul. The desire from the show for a limjinrok match is considered a bonus, not the shows main draw.

He's the overwhelming fan favorite in Korea, while they're mostly pissed off at the celebrities.

Thanks for the translations so far, really enjoying the show! http://baykoreans.net/entertain/1753505 My thoughts on s2 e6 + Show Spoiler + So many betrayals in this episode. Like 20 min of the episode was Sangmin finding the exemption wings. Boxer helps him, but Sangmin betrays Boxer and leaves him in the dust with free wings, and Boxer with nothing. At first I was pissed that he just said screw off to Boxer but if Boxer was in his position, he would have done the same thing. And he probably was planning to leave Sangmin in the dust too, but not as bad as Sangmin left him in the dust. I feel that Boxer has more humanity in him and is not that heartless. As a person, the shitter thing was that Sangmin was planning to make Boxer and Yellow face each other in the death match game. Ouch Boxer, you got used bro. Main game, you have a fkton of TV broadcasters ruining their images. Jiwon and Yooyoung STEAL Doohee's card and never give that shit back(What a role model for little kids watching them on public tv,). Without the card, Doohee is forced to lose the game without even having played the game. (I thought that TV personalities actually cared about their images, but fk fair play, fk your image.) That potential at max 200K prize money you have a low chance of winning, is more important. Not like Jiwon can't make that money by selling an album. So second part of the game, they tell Doohee that they're sorry for stealing his card, ruining the concept of the show "The Genius" and leaving him like a pitiful little fker who can't even play the game this week, and as an apology they send him to the death match. WTF! But don't worry guys, all part of the game. It's a game right? These kinds of things can happen. The worst part of all of this is TV personalities telling him that they're sorry and shit, like they're going to help him or something. I feel like they just don't want to seem that bitchy to the public, but too bad it gets worse. So to make up for sending him to the death match, Sangmin tells Doohee that he's going to give him his exemption wings that he found in the safe. That should make up for it... In return he wants Doohee to send Boxer and Yellow to the deathmatch. Deathmatch: Doohee originally said he wanted to face Yellow in a deathmatch, but he's like fk that, I'm pissed. And he's like, I use these wings to send Yooyoung and Noh Hongchul to the deathmatch(cuz Jiwon had immunity.) Then it turns out that Sangmin is a lying, betraying, fker, and gave him fake wings, cuz fk you, this game is all about him, and only him winning. So up to now, we have like 3 lies by the TV personalities. #1 I don't have your card, #2 We're really sorry about how we fked you over Doohee #3 We're going to send Boxer and Yellow to the deathmatch. Nope sry Doohee, we never planned on sending Yellow and Boxer to the deathmatch, just you and Yellow or Boxer. So it ends up Doohee and Yooyoung in the deathmatch. It's the same stupid game from ep 4 where everything goes dark and no1 can see shit, and you have to press the green or red button. So in the deathmatch, Jiwon tells Doohee that he is sorry for stealing his card and that he will help him out in the deathmatch. Then Jiwon lies in his face AGAIN and royally screws him over and makes him lose the game. wtf bro, seriously, again? After you told Doohee that he could trust you 100%, you betrayed him again? Like I know this is a game, but don't you at least have enough dignity to tell him that you won't help him? How many times do you have to fk up and backstab this guy. What's the point of being sorry if you're going to f him over like that. Jiwon, your image is already fked up and down the drain. At this point I'm like, is there a Jiwon anti-cafe around here? Cuz I want to fking sign up and send Jiwon messages saying fk you for an hour, and then get on with my life. And then to sum this episode all up, the Genius staff edits the ending part to kind of make it look like it's Doohee's naivety, and him trusting people that led him to his downfall. And then Doohee tells his story of how we got betrayed big twice in his life, and no1 really seems to care, and Sangmin tells him that there are probably gonna be shittier things that will happen in his life. (What a good encouragement bro. I would expect to see an apology here for lying) But it's a game. And shit like this can happen. Because in a game, you can be a bitch all you want, under the pretense that it's just a game. But ok, let's look at this non emotionally here. It feels like all of the TV personalities are in it for themselves. For survival, they are willing to do the dirty deeds, even if those deeds are dirty as fk. And as I try to understand things from both perspectives, I ask myself, how much was survival in this round worth it for the Tv peoplez. I mean, if you look at it from a bigger perspective, the TV peoplez gained a shot at 200K, which not every1 can win, while they lost their images that they worked so hard to build up, and a lot of fans. Was 200K worth it for them? If they are really looking at things logically, the logical thing would have been to use the show to benefit you. A chance for 200K in the short run vs a longer career where you're loved in the long run. Seems to me that the second option is the better option. Then we get to the case about Jiwon. In the episode, it shows Jiwon pretty much f'ing his image in the game(as some1 trustworthy), and his image to the public. He betrays Doohee like a fk ton of times, and he betrays Doohee the hardest at the end. He gave up his chance for redemption for Yooyoung. And it's hard to really understand why he would do that. In the game, Yooyoung is a better ally to him than Doohee. So he would obviously pick Yooyoung. But his life is bigger than just the Genius game. So it leads me to the conclusion that Jiwon(as a divorced man) wants to bang Yooyoung. Only reason he would go so far for her. And I feel that Jiwon picking his penis over his head is going to cost him. Lastly, I want to talk about Doohee. (zzzz fck this, I'm typing all this in like 5 min.) I feel like Doohee is like a little kid. He believes people, he gets easily influenced by those around him, and he has like 0 assertiveness, as in it feels like every1 else in the Genius game is an adult, and he's a kid, and he's just obeying them like a child would their parent. That's how powerless I feel Doohee is in the game. When Doohee's card gets taken, he just kind of takes it, going around to ask people for his card politely, like they'll give it back. I had hoped that he would be more assertive and kind of demand his card back, because it's obvious that some1 stole his card. At least if he pressured people to give his card back, he would have gotten better results than just passively getting fked up the ass without being able to do anything. And also, Doohee's naivety/trustworthiness. I feel like when the other people on the show take a royal fking up the ass, they take it better/let it go, or at least hold it in better, but I feel like Doohee has a hard time dealing with the betrayals of the show.
