I used to pay for GSL to get access to the VODs but then I realized I never watched them because there is zero excitement in watching something that is days old. They're usually up (in GSL's case) in an equally quick amount of time as a rebroadcast. What's the difference????

For Korea, could someone clarify this for me. Are GSL/OSL the actual WCS events for the region, or will there be something else that they both broadcast?

But doing the same in a standard MLG event will not? GSL and OSL are merging with WCS KR. MLG and IEM's standards circuits are not and their respective WCS events will be a separate thing. However, the weekend MLG/IEM events will likely award WCS points as well. As will Dreamhack, NASL, Iron Squid, HSC, etc.

I think it's a smart thing to do. Agreed it's a smart thing to do, but I would be utterly shocked if any Kespa player chooses NA or EU as their region (or are even allowed to).

Aren't Twitch VoDs up like 10min after the broadcast?

The VODs are posted a few hours later now, maybe even one hour later after game has been broadcasted, AND you want a rebroadcast, which is essentially the exact same thing. It IS later than the content is available from the first go. I do not understand you, cause watching a Starleague finals from 7 years ago still gives me the same tingling feeling like when I watched it the first time.

As the prophesy has foretold, the consolidation is beginning #ZeratulVoice.

Ya know what, then don't watch anymore. I'm sorry that Blizzard, MLG, GSL etc etc cannot cater to you and you alone so I guess you will just have to give up watching or sacrifice a few things so you are able to watch something that you claim to care so much about. There are obviously some things that are still being ironed out, so wait a few more days for some more information, if you are still not happy... well..... sorry

- The Korean, NA and EU SC2 scene will be united under the WCS banner as shown in the picture - GSL/OSL, NA-GSL and EU-GSL contribute to the WCS point system, where the 16 highest ranked players will play to determine the WSC champion - The three seasons will coincide with the tournaments. In Korea, GSL will be take place for two seasons (one running very soon and the one after summer), while OSL will be held in the summer as the point arbitrator - Koreans and foreigners are not restricted by the regions, and can travel to every tournament for money - MLG and IEM are simultaneously independent of the WCS system, which allows Koreans and foreigners outside of their region to participate - DreamHack, NASL, Iron Squid and other mid-tier tournaments will contribute to the point system, though at a lesser scale compared to the other regionals - Players are locked to the regions of their choice

Twitch VODs are created every 2 hours in to a broadcast, so you can watch the first minute of a live broadcast the second it's been running for 121 minutes. VODs are nearly instantly created once the broadcast has ended. That is assuming they save the VODs and don't try and use the (awful) twitch highlight system or upload everything to Youtube.

Yea, it'd be unwise for Bisu to stay on the KR-GSL as KR-GSL is now GSL+OSL which means, he'll never get through qualifiers :<..
