On Saturday it will be Iron Squid II’s grand finals and here is what you need to know about the event. The stream will - as usual – be available in three languages: French, English and Russian and will start at 10.30 am CET, and sincerely, you do NOT want to miss the opening Ceremony.
![[image loading]](http://ftp.ironsquid.tv/visual/chapter2/TL/IS2_banniere_palaisdescongres3.jpg)
After Le Grand Rex for its 1st Chapter, Iron Squid grows and will take place in Le Palais des Congrès for the 2nd Chapter. This venue has a capacity of 3700 seats - already sold out – and is often used to welcome ballets.
![[image loading]](http://ftp.ironsquid.tv/visual/chapter2/TL/IS2_SoE.jpg)
To host the stream, Iron Squid is really happy to welcome Soe. She has proven at many occasions that she is both entertaining and game savvy
![[image loading]](http://ftp.ironsquid.tv/visual/chapter2/TL/IS2_TOD.jpg)
The Swiss will be assisted by the French professional player and game analyzer ToD and Reis who will be once again a quality translator.
![[image loading]](http://ftp.ironsquid.tv/visual/chapter2/TL/IS2_Casters_Anglais.jpg)
Iron Squid’s casting dream team will be in Paris to cast the final games of the tournament. Day9, Kaelaris, Khaldor and Wolf will all come to Le Palais des Congrès.
Since French and English casters will be interacting with each other on stage, you should be introduced to the French casting team.
![[image loading]](http://ftp.ironsquid.tv/visual/chapter2/TL/IS2_casters_fran%C3%A7ais.jpg)
The Pomf & Thud brothers are joined by the famous French pro player MoMaN as well as Anoss. Their cast is known to be dynamic and passionate and they will do their best to make the crowd go wild over the amazing games of the finals.
![[image loading]](http://ftp.ironsquid.tv/visual/chapter2/TL/IS2_caster_russe.jpg)
In addition to French and English streams, Igor will be casting it live from Moscow.
To help you wait until the 26th, the second part of the AfterSquid has been released where you will be able to watch the interviews of Mr Chae, Khaldor and a visit of the TSL house with the interviews of Polt and Symbol
Note on the players this thread was only to announce the Grand final and its main actors beside players, players get their own thread in the competition part : HERE

Sweet. Looking forward to it. Pretty nice caster line-up.
|
Sweet, I love the class Iron Squid brings. Go DRG! Or Life. Or Nestea. Or MKP.
I'm happy whoever wins~
|
This is gonna be so awesome.
|
gon b gud
Wonder if Iron Squid II can beat Katowice in passion. The last Iron Squid had one of the best crowds ever.
|
Cannot wait for the finals, Iron Squid 1 outside of the English stream issues was amazing. NesTea as the only returning top 4 player should get an amazing reception.
Other than racial balance you couldn't have asked for a much better ro4, you have 6 GSL championships, 10 GSL finals appearances between the players and $743000 USD in prize money, all members of the 100k club.
Hoping Life takes it.
|
It will most probably be awesome ! Also the first main event of 2013 !
I only hope that unlike last year the English stream will feature the ''on stage'' since its one of the main asset of iron squid. Even if English viewer won't understand anything the mood of iron squid is definitively a must see.
|
I'd hardly call that a casting dream team...
I'm sure the games will easily make up for the muted stream, except when soe talks.
|
you have a banner for everyone besides the players, the most important thing :v
looking forward to mkp winning it all though
|
Awesome! I sense a top 3 in NesTea's future.

I sense a top 1. Repeat of GSL open season 2, MKP vs Nestea finals.
|
This is going to be so awesome. Love the banners.
|
Please make the finals MKP. ZvZ is such a terrible matchup to watch from a visual perspective, as the creep and the dark colors of roaches make it difficult to distinguish which side is which.
|
Life or mkp to win finals.
|
Going to be an incredible tournament. I loved the first Iron Squid, and this should be just as good, if not better. Expecting Life to win. The interviews with Polt and Symbol, and a look into the TSL house should be fun for the TSL fans out there (too bad TSL is disbanded lol).

I kind of wish they did more than the final 4 live though. Makes for kind of a short event.

excellent, on-location casting!
|
So....from OP its not known whos playing. Not important?
|
Going to be amazing sitting there live! I guess I won't be able to listen to it in English once again though? =(
|
I can't wait to be there, this is going to be crazy !
I hope to see DRG vs MKP in the final :D
|
Something i don't understand is who will be "sounded" for the crowd. Because i don't think you will have english audio and french audio. As a french i prefer the english casting for some weird reason.
So how is it gonna play out ?
Also OP you forgot the players lol

The event will probably be well done again, i might even watch it, even though i'm not interested in these players.

I'm looking forward to it, I'm pretty sure the crowd will be amazing. At least, I hope.
OP should add the players lol.
and sincerely, you do NOT want to miss the opening Ceremony.
Well that should be interesting...
|
Day[9]! I miss him casting at live events.
|
I am glad to see Kaelaris beind hired by a few important events. He's a quality caster and seems to work well with anyone. Too bad about Apollo not behind here.

I am amazed that they managed to bring so many casters and hosts to the event, things must be going really good for P&T
The OP says there will be interactions between french and english casters, wonder how this will turn out though, and what about the audience? most if not everyone will be french, is there really a need to have the english casters on stage?

You must be trolling. Last Iron Squid people from all over the world went to the french stream even if they didn't understand anything but because they felt it was good, for one they could hear passion and crazyness in the voice of the commentators.
If the french scene is what it is today (well not the best one but at least we have various event) its at least 70% thanks to them, otherwise our scene would be as dead ad the Italian one.

Can't wait for this evenement ! The best french and english caster are here it will be hard to choose, but I will stay with Pomf & Thud. Ironsquid production is amazing. There will be of course live playing music theme by In Uchronia and some surprise. Also tonight, there is a day9daily on OgamingTV.net the website of ironsquid crew. The players (DRG, Life, MKP, Nestea !) will sign autograph in a Numericable store (sponsor) tomorrow. I clearly think this will just be the best WoL tournament ever, at least from a french point of view. Ironsquid I was amazing for french TV, but now with Day9, Khaldor, Tod etc in live in Paris it will be just perfection for all viewers. The show will be from 10h30 CET to like 21h00 CET. I hope this article will be on top highlight of TL and that there will be a recap and presentation by the TL crew.
Congratulation for all this work.

I think Pomf&Thud have tried to internationalize this tournament a great deal since the first edition, and so far I think they have done a pretty good job. Most casters seem to have enjoyed the organization and I hope viewers have as well (I know I have). Having a preview in TL is a great honor for tournaments and I sincerely believe Iron Squid II deserves one.
Pretty please TL writers, bless us with your words.
|
I'm really looking forward to this, but isn't it weird to have like 7 graphics dedicated to the hosts and casters, but zero mention of the actual players? It's a stacked lineup, don't you want to hype it up for people who don't know who's playing?

This exactly, especially when the title is as generic as "Ironsquid, the grand final" and the description is "here is what you need to know about the event". We want a huge hype of the core of event and sc2, the players! But I'm sure it will arrive soon Since casters are sadly way more expensive than many players, it is understandable that they hype what cost them the most: the location and the casters.
And about the casters, I think Pomf and Thud are a really big reason why the french crowd is one of the most passionate (with canada and poland), so they have to cast the game for the audience. This is one of the main features of the event. I'm curious to see how they make the english/french interaction work!
Please TL, highlight this wonderful event. Ok, you didn't post a countdown like you do often, you probably won't post a write up either, but at least put the annoncement in the frontpage.
Last but not least, I can't wait for my favorite tournament ever!!

I'd say so. Watching a broadcast with disembodied voices is very sad. While I am sure that the ad revenue pales in comparison to the ticket sales, international viewers are still important.

All the following schedule are CET (GMT+1) and from Ogaming/Pomf&Thud facebook. 9h30-10h Opening for the doors in Paris Palais des Congrés. 11h Stream starting and opening ceremony surprise 13h22-?? Lunch pause (no food allowed in the place) 21h-22h End
I don't know exactly when all games are scheduled but this tournament is like a show, there will be showmatch, inuchronia in live playing the theme songs, and you can't really know how much each match will last so that's all i know.

People went to the French stream because you could hear the crowd and they don't understand what the casters say. Pomf & Thud are good casters for intensity but are just terrible at analytic casting. Anoss is probably one of the worst casters I've ever heard. Moman could be good because he knows the game much better than the others, but he speaks like a 13 years old and it's really painful to hear.
I'll be there anyway for the intensity of live games and because I love SC2, but if I could have Day9 and Khaldor casting instead of Pomf & Thud on stage I would be the happiest nerd ever.

goddamn it. i have a pretty hard exam on tuesday. MKP, Nestea, DRG, Life. Day9, Wolf, Khaldor, Kaelaris. Tod, SOE!!!!!!!!!!
why you do this to me ironsquid? when am i supposed to study?
|
Can't wait for this ! Go Mkp and Nestea
|
Awesome hyping it up like last year! :D I still wonder though, is there, live, at the event, going to be any kind of english casting going on? Would be awesome.

Gotta go to sleep early, driving 900kms tomorrow for the finals ! So siccccccckkkkkkk I'm sure it's going to be just epic.

I hope Nestea takes it, the crowd would go wild. The poor guy couldn't answer an interview last time due to fans shouting his name.

I think this time the crowd will be splitted between NesTea and MKP. NesTea for being NesTea, MKP for being MKP AND the last non zerg.

That venue looks like it can impress a lot of people tuning in. I will for sure!
