Still, I can relate to his problems. At least, from an amateur's standpoint, I go in a local PC Bang and out of a hundred pc's, I'm almost always the only one playing SC2 or watching GSL. Lately, I haven't been able to post on the LR's because of school but I still love the game to death and talk about it practically non-stop to my friends. It's just depressing that even the friends who got me into the game have all totally stopped playing and watching. Respect to Xigua and Comm who play the game they love no matter the conditions or the popularity of the game. SC2 may not be a glamorous game in China but they still push on.

It doesn't have to be e-sport games. China has tonnes of crappy online games that use sex appeal, grinding MMORPGs and people get addicted way too easily. the game itself isn't that expensive, 100 monthly income is way too low, definitly not the city area average income Another is lan. Why people loved WC3 is because it lets them go to friend's house and just lan up. So what if the friend doesn't have wi fi now? You cant play together even though you are right next to eachother and both has legit copy of the game. Not that many cyber cafe in China even have Starcraft 2 installed. so yea, SC2 scene will just keep shrinking in China. It's probably the same in other SE asia countries other than Korea. I know a lot of malays and Philippines and singaporeans who know of the game but never really care about it much since LoL/Dota is the game to go for, the willthat you know most others will play and the game that you can spent times with your friends. [edit] just browsed around the forum, apparently they don't know when Hots is coming to China. But whoever bought the 90 RMB version of WoL (that is really cheap btw), will get a FREE upgrade to Hots...damn what a good deal. Why won't anyone buy it now since global play is coming?

China SC2 does seem a bit of a 'hidden' scene on TL. No coverage really AFAIK. Sase won a tournament there recently and won ~ $10k. His biggest career win but no-one really seemed to notice! Oh well, it is up to them to promote themselves.

Yea, I think many can relate to that situation. I'm the only one of like 6-10 of my close friends who still logs onto SC2 periodically.

everytime I go to china, and I start laddering on my chinese account, I almost hit the GM ladder, while Im in europe mid masters and low master kr (i dont play much). Ive competited during wcg prelims in hangzhou, I made it to the semi finals, and lost against F1(one of the 3 kings of shanghai, still have no idea who he is...). This maybe shows the level of a high master level chinese sc2 player. I cant blame them, they call Sen as a Chinese player from Taipei! There are plenty overseas chinese player who are willing carry the chinese flag for them. for example SingSing from Dota2. Maybe there should a chinese "clan-webpage" on TL to synergize whats left over...
