Used to be a translator for MLG and did stuff for the community, wrote a huge article about how SC2 is shit and will never amount to BW, and how BW is better than every esport. He proceeded to get called out by many, he couldn't take the heat, and got out of the kitchen.

Wait, what?

Wow, things get exaggerated. LOL.

Can't tell if this is a joke or not.... this is the reverse of exaggerated imo....

Last quote as answer to "Ah, and what about the environment provided by the manager? The house provided by the manager? The pc's provided by the manager? The coaches provided by the manager? Do I need to go on?"

If "he" really did not, he may want to rethink the way he argues.

Edit: not to mention the quotes about psychological stuff, which i did not bother to quote.

I've got the entire quote chain open, and GSTL comes up (using the Find function) only in the quotes you pulled out of context. It's like you're saying Talin said that players don't use computers to win at video games. Good one.

Its about his "argument" that a good team-enviroment/manager/etc does not have an impact on your ability to win.

But you made that argument up.

There are more quotes as i said, about the psychological benefits of having a good enviroment, which he refused to look through.

No, it was about the psychological benefits of "living extravagantly" (or to be more general, about the players' level of comfort). Which I said I'd take into account only if it matches what actually happens in the world of Starcraft.

Meh, this thread is slowly losing its entertainment value.

Whatever happens in the world of Starcraft is not of sufficient statistical value to give any weight to the matter of psychological influence. Just too few examples.

Which is exactly why it's wrong to use a broad, large scale statistical findings to settle arguments concerning a tiny space (in comparison).

May I also recommend Running Man to you for entertainment value?

I shall certainly Google it!

It rarely is, and certainly not in this case. Sure, I would much rather see a psychologists evaluation (preferably more than one) on situations in eSports houses and subsequent results, but alas that doesn't exist. Thus we go to the next best option, which is what I refer to.

But there's a better next best thing - which is considering the visible, obvious trends in the scene. Which with the scene being so small, we can actually do without fear that an eventual research (that will never happen) would prove these observations to be drastically false.

The trend that I see is that individual players' performance tends to be unaffected, stagnate, and often even drop off as more material comfort and security is provided to him. Trend that I assume you saw was that Slayers provided their players with a high level of comfort (even though we don't really know any specifics on that) and that it had a reasonably significant effect on their results at the time - comparable to, or more so than players' own talent and work ethic.

Not only do I think that I can name many more examples that follow the trend I see, than you can for yours. In fact, if I may remind you of Slayers initial accomplishments in the team leagues - it was hardly a joint team effort. More often than not, it involved multiple players losing their games, then relying on one single player to rack up the wins and ultimately win the match himself. We all know who this player is, and in his own way, he also built the team from the ground up.

I'm sorry but trendwatching is sketchy at best. There's no scientific method in trendwatching and thus opinionated results are likely.

Even though I don't agree at all with your last 2 paragraphs, let's agree to disagree on this matter ok?

Lack of scientific method is still better than incorrectly applied statistical findings. There doesn't need to be a scientific method in order for an argument to be settled - in most mundane cases such as this, it merely requires common sense on both parts and not turning a blind eye to established (and very much visible to the naked eye) facts.

And it's plainly obvious that we disagree.

Like I said, agree to disagree. If you want to continue the merits of scientific method in regards to having a conclusion that's actually relevant to real life situations, instead of an opinionated statement without any substance or facts, please PM. It's entirely off-topic right now.

Please make sure that crank knows most of the international opinion is on his side, despite what a few figures in the community may think of crank. I would hate to see him quit gaming after gaining so much drive and breaking out at Raleigh.

Also, it'd be nice if you could release some Axiom merch soon. I'd love to buy something in support of crank. It's really great that you're sticking with this investment. I hope it indeed works out and Korean personalities can become more marketable to the international audience.

He knows and he's grateful for it. It's unsurprising that the smarter folks understand how much smoke and mirrors is in play here and how little CranK's reason for leaving the team actually matters at all. He could have left because he didn't like the colour of the wallpaper for all I care. So he hurt Jessicas feelings, boohoo, let's get real and talk about why the team actually collapsed and why the people in charge repeatedly refuse to take ANY responsibility for it happening.

Seeing how the western interpretation of how everything went down is completely different from the eastern view, I can't help but wonder if this further segregates the two sides. If they do take note of how the foreigners are reacting to everything, I wonder if they get the conclusion that foreigners can't be taken seriously when it comes to Korean starcraft, especially if all the disgraced players make it onto notable foreign teams.
When SC2 came for BW, I cried. Now LoL/Dota2 comes for SC2, and I laugh. \o/

wait... you mean CranK leaving SlayerS didn't cause the organization to collapse?! But that makes too much sense!

To be honest, to a guy that's been living in a quiet American suburb from 3 years old to college graduation, the phone call transcript looks like Jessica told a guy who's suffering from debilitating neck problems and just straight up told him they were going to try to fuck his life for little/no reason (The whole "you lied to me so I'm going to destroy your life" sounds like some poorly written yazuka/triad movie that you'd see at an amateur film festival). I don't know what the Korean audience is reading in that, but I can't seem to see how Jessica would come to a conclusion like this.

I seriously don't see why crank acting "rudely" to his elders even matters here. Jessica's story about crank yelling at boxer "what did you ever do for me" seems like a lie or at least a huge exaggeration at this point, not that a statement like that is even grounds for a witch hunt of his magnitude. When you fire people in America, you should have security escort them out in case of sabotage or even downright violence. What crank did is incredibly mild, even justified.

Jessica is seriously the cancer here, regardless of how "right" she was before this debacle. I wonder if this type of shitstorm generator tactic is actually a Korean PR control technique. I can't see this do anything positive for her career, whether she wins or not.

Why do you think that call was released? To encourage EXACTLY this reaction from people who adore drama.

Sounded like Standard Milkis from months ago when everything that came from Korea was gospel and the dirty gaijin weren't respecting and trampling on the korean starcraft heritage.

Request to move the phone convo log when up to the front page.

Insane that people are actually blaming crank for the collapse of slayers and not the management.

Really? I thought it was Jessica trying to clear her own name.

I don't follow SlayerS drama until now, but people seem to be very quick to blame Jessica. Can anyone give me a quick summary of why everyone here seems to hate her so much or what happened to make people hate her so much?

Hell I think us international fans are all the behind the players considering all the bullshit we've had to deal with over twitter and w/e else because of the drama queen Jessica. Good to see TB trying to just shut the whole thing down to save Jessica from embarrassing herself even more and trying to force a court case that she will lose if she tries to get into it with CranK.

Bitch should just stop making statements and leave the damn scene forever no one will miss her or the stupid drama she keeps bringing up all the time. So yeah GL in your terrible acting career mr drama queen you wont be missed and we hope you never step into esports ever again. Its your fault Slayers failed because of your shitty team management skills.

Man just read Jessica's latest interview...does she usually play a lawyer in Korean dramas?? She just denies denies Denies any wrong doing and place the blame on crank mma ryung mc IM startale et al.

Not to say that it's not SOME of the players faults as well but she make makes it sound like she shits flowers and has the evidence to back it up.

Bull**** Milkis is a long time contributor to this site, and to the community as a whole, as has TB. Both of them deserve a good deal of respect from this community, and their opinions should both be considered.

Where did I say Milkis did jack shit? First thing I said was that he was a translator and did stuff for the community. Your reading skills seem to be lacking.
