http://esfiworld.com/news/jessica-my-reputation-line-i-will-end-cranks-apology

Your reputation was on the line the moment you decided to point fingers and go public. Nothing going to save you now. I've lost what little respect I had for you Jessica.

Q: (Back to Jessica) What was the reason for coach Hong not reporting immediately?

A: The final word for our team is in my hand, even if [players] talk to the coaches. I decide everything by myself and solve all matters, so that's why he didn't report.

Sounds like even if the coaches did tell her one thing, she'll decide another thing on her own.

Boxer to Ryung : "mma is like a cancer cell, so I have to quarantine you from him"
GSL 2012 season 1 MMA just won the BLizzard Cup, was about to win the Iron Squid... And the day before his code S match against aLive the drama begins... since then he showed crazy skills but is very less steady than before. I really hope he'll can rebuild himself. I love that guy.
A friend is someone you know well and still love.

Unfortunately your and my respect(or lackof) for Jessica is irrelevant to her. She probably only cares about the Korean view, and it's all in her favour apparently.

http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/11wn9f/jessica_leaks_private_phone_conversation_with/ This definitely makes it look like your representation of reality if a bit off.

Also, look at this thread. Half of it is 2 people arguing with everyone else.

Every major drama on TL is like that. Remove the posts of a half dozen people and a 100 page thread becomes a 20 page thread.

He knows and he's grateful for it. It's unsurprising that the smarter folks understand how much smoke and mirrors is in play here and how little CranK's reason for leaving the team actually matters at all. He could have left because he didn't like the colour of the wallpaper for all I care. So he hurt Jessicas feelings, boohoo, let's get real and talk about why the team actually collapsed and why the people in charge repeatedly refuse to take ANY responsibility for it happening.

I think you're first of all belittling alot of people with that statement. But as to the reason for my comment on it, I think you're very much understating the impact that Crank may have had. It's not solely his leaving, but reasons given for leaving and subsequent actions. If you think that's not a reason for response, that's your opinion, and if I may say so, quite lacking in empathy.

Jessica herself stated in her first statement that at times she was reckless, so to say she doesn't take any is ludicrous. I do admit however, that more self reflection might do her good.

This is just my 2 cents..

I think everything started with both sides being unprofessional. Let me clarify my view:

1) When you are the management, the team owner, u don't simply put a contract on the table and say :" just sign it, it just for us to get the sponsors." Pre-contract signing involves negotiations, offers, counter-offers, clarifications etc. In fact the way Slayers management made it sounds like the contract is nothing but a paper to get the sponsors represents cheating to certain extents.

2) While you are a player, you don't simply sign a contract solely depending on your trust and relationship to a person that offers you. Yes most of the players are young and inexperienced, but they are adults who should be responsible to protect their own interest. Calling the contract a slavery note after signing it shows even more of the immature and unprofessional side of the player.

3) The Crank incident is the biggest joke of all. Crank was a code B player with no contract whatsoever with Slayers means therefore he is free to join or leave the team anytime he wants. Releasing statements attacking the player makes no sense at all since there is no breach of any agreement watsoever.

4) This is e-sports. Its not as simple as an hobby anymore. It involves management, publicity, legislations, business etc. Some people crying out loud saying they want to grow e-sports, they said they have the passion but yet they are reluctant to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills. I mean KESPA might not be the perfect model to study but it has been there around for 10 years surely you can learn something from them and improve on their organization model.

5) I guess currently the only who stays professional in the whole drama is Boxer as he never call for any interview and release all the emotional statements which is not related to the legal scene.

People need to learn and be educated. You don't grow e-sports base solely on your passion and emotions. I hope this drama will end soon and the players can find a new place and continue to bring good games to SC2 scene. Thats all that matters to us fans isnt it? MMA, Ryung, Crank, Alicia, Miya, Brown Dark Arthur Miso BOXER HWAITING!

I've got the entire quote chain open, and GSTL comes up (using the Find function) only in the quotes you pulled out of context. It's like you're saying Talin said that players don't use computers to win at video games. Good one.

Its about his "argument" that a good team-enviroment/manager/etc does not have an impact on your ability to win.

But you made that argument up.

There are more quotes as i said, about the psychological benefits of having a good enviroment, which he refused to look through.

No, it was about the psychological benefits of "living extravagantly" (or to be more general, about the players' level of comfort). Which I said I'd take into account only if it matches what actually happens in the world of Starcraft.

Meh, this thread is slowly losing its entertainment value.

Whatever happens in the world of Starcraft is not of sufficient statistical value to give any weight to the matter of psychological influence. Just too few examples.

Which is exactly why it's wrong to use a broad, large scale statistical findings to settle arguments concerning a tiny space (in comparison).

May I also recommend Running Man to you for entertainment value?

I shall certainly Google it!

It rarely is, and certainly not in this case. Sure, I would much rather see a psychologists evaluation (preferably more than one) on situations in eSports houses and subsequent results, but alas that doesn't exist. Thus we go to the next best option, which is what I refer to.

But there's a better next best thing - which is considering the visible, obvious trends in the scene. Which with the scene being so small, we can actually do without fear that an eventual research (that will never happen) would prove these observations to be drastically false.

The trend that I see is that individual players' performance tends to be unaffected, stagnate, and often even drop off as more material comfort and security is provided to him. Trend that I assume you saw was that Slayers provided their players with a high level of comfort (even though we don't really know any specifics on that) and that it had a reasonably significant effect on their results at the time - comparable to, or more so than players' own talent and work ethic.

Not only do I think that I can name many more examples that follow the trend I see, than you can for yours. In fact, if I may remind you of Slayers initial accomplishments in the team leagues - it was hardly a joint team effort. More often than not, it involved multiple players losing their games, then relying on one single player to rack up the wins and ultimately win the match himself. We all know who this player is, and in his own way, he also built the team from the ground up.

I'm sorry but trendwatching is sketchy at best. There's no scientific method in trendwatching and thus opinionated results are likely.

Even though I don't agree at all with your last 2 paragraphs, let's agree to disagree on this matter ok?

Lack of scientific method is still better than incorrectly applied statistical findings. There doesn't need to be a scientific method in order for an argument to be settled - in most mundane cases such as this, it merely requires common sense on both parts and not turning a blind eye to established (and very much visible to the naked eye) facts.

And it's plainly obvious that we disagree.

Like I said, agree to disagree. If you want to continue the merits of scientific method in regards to having a conclusion that's actually relevant to real life situations, instead of an opinionated statement without any substance or facts, please PM. It's entirely off-topic right now.

There's not much I can continue or expand upon what I've said in the last post, seeing as you have abruptly decided to just disagree with everything.

Last I checked, I was still talking about Slayers and MMA - very specifically so. I have no interest in discussing merits of the scientific method with you, in this topic or anywhere else.

So Boxer was allegedly unavailable and abrasive as a team manager (according to MMA), bailed on his team when they needed him to step up (seems obvious), and all we're talking about is Jessica and MMA? Boxer abandoned ship, and will now coach SKT, after figuring out that he was probably not cut out to be a team manager/owner. Boxer probably isn't getting enough blame, whereas the players are getting too much, and Jessica seems like her own worst enemy.

So I guess boxer would rather have his team implode than step on his fiance's toes? Rock onward. Or he could just be a lousy manager.

Based on Cella's recent twitter posts, https://twitter.com/SlayersCella, it seems before leaving the slayers gaming house, crank told Cella that he was leaving Slayers after the season. The twitter posts go on to suggest that Cella advised crank to give notice to Jessica and boxer about his decision to leave Slayers. However, from my understanding of the situation, while still living in the Slayers' house crank never gave notice to Jessica or Boxer of his plan to leave Slayers. If Cella's account is accurate, then I feel that Crank threw Cella under the base, putting Cella in an awkward position and potentiality damaging the good name and reputation of Cella .

If my understanding of Cella's twitter posts, and dependent on the accuracy of the said twitter posts, at the very least, by not manning up and going to Jessica and Boxer with his ambition of leaving Slayers, Crank has show in the least immaturity and in the worst a betrayal of Cella.

Boxer is a sacred cow that cannot be harmed. Attacking Boxer is essentially career suicide in Korea it seems, their idol culture puts our fanbois to shame. I'll give Jessica credit for one thing, she's taking bullets for her fiance on this one by the looks of it. It's just a shame she decided to do it by clusterbombing everyone else.

I don't think this is about hurting Jessica's feeling. Jessica is attacking Crank at a very personal level because
1. Crank attributed to the break down of team Slayers
2. Crank's unprofessional behavior of not showing up for the team match just a day before the scheduled day
3. Crank was let go (released) from team with the promise of medical treatment, not seeking a foreign team

Imagine Crank cancelled his MLG appearance on you the day before hand. Would you be pissed? Probably not if it was for sever medical reason. But then he quits the team citing medical reason and absolutely not to seek out another team with a better offer. Weeks later, he gets signed by EG. Then in an interview, he calls you an unprofessional manager. I hope you'd be pissed.

He left his team that he started... and others ruined, to a team that he started and is sponsored by an insanely huge company. One that he was a part of for far longer than slayers. Maybe his good intentions were rewarded with a rotten fruit, but no one, I repeat: NO ONE will say anything bad about Boxer, even if he is a lousy manager, if anything, his managing skills were taken from his former managers who led to him and his team becoming so great. Maybe the mentality of the new SC2 players wasn't the same as the old BW players and thusly the Slayers boys were easily convinced that they were being taken advantage of.
