That's your own opinion, obviously Boxer didn't take it as a joke, and got offended by the "Slaerys trash" remark. These words is not just towards Genius, it is towards the whole team.
When friends don't get offended, ok, that's fine, but if they do, you apologize.
Was genius offended? Or "that's your own opinion"... I don't recall seeing Genius get upset.
Even if Genius did not, but Boxer did because the insult is towards the team. He still need to apologize.
I don't see how it offends the team. He didn't say slayers was trash he simply said, genius, a player on slayers, was trash.
When you say, "white trash," you're saying someone who's white is being dumb. You're not insulting all white people. And if you are white and are offended by that statement then you're drawing your own conclusions and thinking of implications that aren't necessarily true nor stated by the person who said "white trash." Certainly you can say "oh but racism!" but quite frankly that isn't the issue at hand and insulting someone with some more literal details doesn't seem to be racism in my eyes.
No matter how you spin it, whether you will get offended in that situation. Fact is Boxer did get offended, and those are not nice words, apology from MC is needed.
There's no fucking spinning, it's english, black and white. He is trash and he's slayers. You're the one spinning it and giving boxer a valid reason to be offended. I'm offended that your name starts with J, can you please apologize? My girlfriend got raped by someone whose name started with the letter J. Please apologize and change your name.
Additionally, MC understands that there could be people like you who like to infer things and spin things and not take something at face value when it really is just that face value.
MC via twitter: So i guess not leaving a practice match of an opposing team is not BM and my cursing out a friend in a friendly manner is. I apologize for insulting the team name but why did you not say something then instead of doing this over twitter?

As usual Jessica overreacts.
Do you type "..." and leave the game if you're laughing your ass off? Besides, Genius already showed he's on Jessica and BoxeR's side in this whole drama, if he thinks they're exagerating things, I doubt he would be.
He's on there side about the whole MMA and everything else...
The joke was made between friends, Genius has yet to make a formal comment so the idea it's even being used is outrageous, especially since it is WELL KNOWN they're friends. It is purely speculation, and it has no merit to apologize if it offended Boxer or Jessica... I'm completely on Jessica/boxers side, infact I just made a post saying that it was obvious when boxer was on one side, the other was wrong, but to use this is plainly wrong.
If we shit on everyone who makes a joke to another person, the whole worlds going to be miles deeper in shit than this forum already is.
Stop calling it a joke, MC didn't call it a joke, and apologized.
MC said: When you leave it out of context, it makes it seem like I’m the bad guy. When I made that comment, I was in the middle of practicing to play against Slayers and when Min-soo came in and did not leave for a long time I cursed him out because that is the type of relationship we have. That is why I said “hey Slayers trash, I’m practicing. Leave the game”.
When you saw that comment you said something to me then and I explained that it was directed at Min-soo. It’s cheap that you would bring this up on twitter instead of confronting me then and there.
Since we’re on the subject, do you remember during the World Championship team match last year, you confronted me, Sung-joon, Jaedug, Jong-hyun and grouped us with those who ignored Coach Hong Seung Pyo? It was a traumatic event for me.
We had already talked with Coach Hong and decided to allow whoever wanted to play compete. When you came the next day and scolded us for something we didn’t even do, my performance suffered because of that.
Initially when I was told to not practice, I never discriminated, whether it was Slayers or TSL. I did not have a good opinion of you or Coach Hong after that, but I never hated the Slayers team members.
Wasn’t it you who hated the oGs team from the start? When I was in code A you told Choi Jong-Han to pick our team, and because of this we had to play against our own teammates. It was a frustrating and awkward situation. Of course because it was a private league, it was inevitable that teammates would play against each other, but at that level it was considered well-mannered to not have to pick the same team. It was because of this that I had a vendetta against Slayers.
This is an awkward situation to be in, as I was friendly and took care of Slayers players during foreign events. You turned me into a terrible person over a single comment I made to Min-soo. I was in the middle of practicing when some people told me of this situation. I am going to go back to practice.
You sir, are an idiot, please stop posting bullshit and speculation. Two friends banter. It's severely taken out of context.
Still Boxer did get offended, so apology is needed.
Why would he have to apologize to a third party? What gives a third party the right to request an apology based on friend banter. That's absurd, you need to get into the realistic world. To many pussy assholes who get caught up in offensive buzz words.
Kind of describing you. Trying to make everything some soft politically correct bullshit, he meant the banter as a banter and Genius knew it at the time and knows it still, get real.
Also to your post above, "relationship" implies friendship and when he quote " I cursed him out because that is the type of relationship we have." it is because that is what their friendship is like, maybe this is difficult for you to understand because either A) you have no friends or B) you've never had a friend like this.
The fact you're even questioning if his statement correlated with a joke is ridiculous, what else would he mean by "this is the relationship we have"...

If MC had said "white trash" to say huk (they were great friends back in the day), I don't think it would be appropriate to have MC apologize to every white person offended.
All you people arguing over whether MC should apologize or not.. He already officially apologized - said himself that what he said to Genius was in extremely poor taste.
On October 20 2012 07:23 rotinegg wrote: What Jinroazi said is right, here's a full translation. Translated in a hurry so probably riddled with grammatical errors and typos. Apparently Kim Ka Yeon posted a response (?) so I'll try to get that up soon too.
First off, I want to apologize causing a scene with my tweets with Kim Ka Yeon. Also, I would like to personally apologize to Kim Ka Yeon for using foul language talking to 민수 [who? TLPD gives me Genius and Brown; I'm gonna assume the former since I've heard his name before]; we are close friends and it was in the heat of the moment, so I hope you can forgive me. Thinking back to the emotional trauma that nicknames such as '운지에스 장운지 장고인' caused me, I can imagine how he must have felt, and I deeply apologize for forgetting my place at the mention of my name.
[운지에스(운GS) - play on his team name OGS; 운지천(pronounced Oon-Ji-Chun) is an energy drink that was advertised in the 90's on national television, where a guy jumps off a waterfall. President roh threw himself from a waterfall to commit suicide during the investigations regarding allegations of bribery were taking place, and a netizen made a parody of the OonJiChun commercial with an image of president roh (he was the kind of president that you either loved or hated) and the younger generation started using OonJi as a verb signifying committing suicide, but it's pretty commonly used in casual conversation to mean 'going downhill' or 'falling.' More explanation in the reply below. 장운지(Jang Oon Ji) - same explanation as above, just combined his surname with Oon Ji. 장고인(Jang Go In) - I'm not too sure about this one, but my guess is they used the same 고인 that signifies somebody who has passed away, and combined it with his surname.]
As I give Kim Ka Yeon my sincerest apologies, I wanted to give a brief cap on what exactly happened.
I was practicing as the first leg of the Slayers' GSTL match when Genius joined the game. Usually when he joins my practice games he would leave on his own after a short while, so I assumed he would leave. However, when I saw that he was still in the game after a while, I impulsively cursed him out, and I sincerely apologize to Genius and Kim Ka Yeon for that.
What I want to tell you fans is that we progamers are human too, and due to the amount of pressure we are under, we are on edge when practicing for important games, especially if practice isn't going particularly well. I'm not saying cursing him out was justified; I'm just trying to show the fans what could have possibly triggered such behavior.
On the other hand, I would like an apology from Kim Ka Yeon for screaming and berating three other players and me at the World Championship Series.
We, the representatives for Korea, had clearly discussed with Coach Hong and reached a consensus that the entry would be decided by the players; the players who decided to play on the first day just happened to not do so well. Of course, we should hold the players who did play accountable for their results, but it's common knowledge that regardless of how the entry was actually decided, the head coach is bound to take a lot of heat for poor showings.
^ Articles like these started circulating [they talk about how the Korean dream team got completely dominated]. You were probably about the damage this would cause to the Slayers' reputation, and asked Coach Hong how the entries were decided. I'm not sure if he lied or there was a misunderstanding, but you berated us with harsh words and collectively labeled us liars for having a different story from what Coach Hong supposedly said.
In hindsight, it could have been a simple miscommunication or misunderstanding. Regardless, you clearly berated us that day, and we never received an apology for it. Also, you said that we didn't pay our due respect to Slayers as a team because we don't respect the coaching staff, which is completely untrue; Coach Park of OGS, the team with which I was affiliated, always emphasized the importance of politeness. I have always greeted friendly faces, and even if I didn't know them, if Slayers' players said hi to me, I have said Hi back. Nor have I ever declined a request for practice games from Slayers if I didn't have something important going on.
Finally, I will leave this here because there are a lot of slanderers going around spreading rumors about me. I've never stolen replays from HanUl nor have I rudely declined his request for practice games. Granted, I'm not too close to him and we're just colleagues that practice with each other once in a while, but it's amazing how people could twist the facts like that.
Also every time I speak it seems the forums are flooded with posts saying my personality is complete trash or that they should have seen this coming from my bm days in US West. Let me just clarify what exactly happened with the fight I had with the random guy I met online: it's true that I he slapped me in the face, but there's more to it. The fight started because he bad-mouthed my clan, which I had been part of for two years, and he was about 9 years older than I. I think he was pissed that a youngster wasn't showing any respect. [Respect is huge in Korea; even if a person is a year older than you, you bow to him and use honorifics to address him] However it wasn't a personal issue at that point, and if I remember correctly, the elders of our clan brought the guy back and made him apologize.
Also, some people just completely fabricate stories about scams I would run with cyworld currency. I swear I have never scammed anybody like that and if I ever owe anybody anything, I am willing to secretly use my mom's cell phone to transact the money. [Your phone is also your wallet in many situations in Korea]
The one thing I really regret is not the rando coming and slapping me in the face; it's that I failed to give legitimate progamers who were officially drafted the respect that they deserve, and although I wasn't able to apologize to all of them, I will make sure to carry out my apologies one by one when I see them on battlenet.
I feel like a lot of my fans left due to this incident, and it deeply saddens me. With this apology letter, I will be taking a break from tweeting for a while. I'm sorry for causing distress to the community through my disrespectful acts and will return not as MC the theorycrafter, but as MC the progamer who puts his money where his mouth is.
I have recognized that I lack in terms of skill and I have been doing my best to imporve myself, so please refrain from using nicknames like Jang-Oonjee / Jang-Goin.
Next thing you know Iambac0re comes in and defends 4thjaedongosl, I swear this two are one person, they always defend each other and their join date is so similar.

You distort what I'm trying to convey... If MC would've said "white trash" to huk, he would've had a huge backlash as most people would see him as racist. Even though "white trash" could just as well have meant that huk grew up in a poor neighbourhood or somesuch. But like I said, I doubt MC would know it's meaning exactly to the letter, and thus it would've been racist.
Also, if MC would've said "Teamliquid trash", I'm pretty sure you would've liked an apology towards Victor, or atleast feel offended yourself.
