Pro tip: Follow GSL = Not getting bored of SC2. pro tip: get to know the best game and where it was all based on, and see how good it could have been (bw ofc)
pro tip: Quit bitching and whining and learn to appreciate life for what it is rather than draining yourself and everyone around you with complaining and nagging.

Keep this ship from sinking
Listen all you so called professionals. Being pro is more then getting paid to play. It is a state of being and an attitude. I don't want to EVER here that sc2 is dieing, just because YOU have lost the passion to play. There are THOUSANDS of nerds who dream of playing sc2 and going pro, and would replace you in a second if they could.
All this doom talk is shattering the dreams of many of these amateurs, who thank the sponsors, attend MLGs, and watch your streams! If you lost the passion to play. keep the bashing to your self, and mentor someone( or many (Just do something productive and STFU)). Additionally, and most importantly, act like a professional, and keep the dream alive even if you don't believe in it. There is no guarantee that any game after sc2 will be better.

Do you have ANY idea what this thread is about?

Blizzard condemned SC2 to a slow death at its inception; it can still be saved but I am not optimistic. BW is still fun though so I am content.
|
Are there any signs that Blizzard is willing to make compromises in it's ways of doing things?
It seems like Blizzard is content for the most part operating under their own basis, handing out infrequent surveys for pro players (this example specifically is should be saved for another story) and so on. Perhaps the biggest frustration amongst enthusiasts is that there seems to be a severe disconnect between Blizzard and it's own fan base, to the point where the only opportunity we get to hear direct communication with one another is Blizzcon's Q&A panels.
I might be wrong though but I feel that nobody outside of Blizzard has a clear understanding of how the company approaches matters in the first place. Do we know what Blizzard plans on developing Starcraft e-sports outside of the sanctioning some tournaments and throwing their large budget at things? The company has been operating this way for a long time now and I don't really see a clear indication that they plan on changing anything.
|
When Blizzard stopped listening to the community and started implementing terrible, terrible damage ideas and forcing it against the player base, they doomed SC2 to never gain the large audience and positive reception that Broodwar had.
|
-LAN mode -Upkeep system like in WC3 to avoid deathballs
And it should be fine.

yes, sc2 is not as good as it could be and it never will be. the dev team is either incompetent or evil.
that doesnt mean its dying. we're in a natural downswing, hots is clearly a work in progress, its hard to get excited about something competitive when its going to be totally different next week. but at the same time everyone knows wol is on the way out. on top of that school has started again and there are other esports in full swing. theres just understandably other things people would rather be doing right now. as soon as hots releases, despite the fact that it wont be very good, sc2 esports will swing back up and continue to be just fine.

I like many others (I can assume), do not want the game to die out, by any means at all. I love this game, I played BW too as a young child, the history in it is where it grips me.
I think I just don't want to believe that people are losing interest in it. I still play the game, was streaming ladder earlier on today, but it is getting stale, and at the right time, because we have HOTS coming out. I'm just not sure that HOTS is going to make the difference. Like people said, BW changed SC1 so much, and so far, HOTS is still WOL in my eyes. Nothing is going to be changed fundamentally as it currently stands, there's just nothing eye grabbing about it so far.
I really hope things pick up. Like Destiny said, Only Blizzard can change it.

Used affect when he meant effect.
Used capital letters to accentuate rather than continued use of prose.
Gave an opinion then repeatedly apologised for it.
Fuck Destiny, get your shit together.
Ultimately I agree, it's down to Blizzard to emulate what Riot and Valve are doing.

Larkin, If you're going to bash someone for his/her grammar you should probably use complete sentences...

You guys think Blizzard is bad? Lol try EA...
They will pull their shit together eventually, but speed has never been their forte. We all know this.

How long do you think it will take for the competition in HOTS to stabilize, idra?

Fighing! Please ensure this game I care so much about will be a better place in the future.I have faith in the intelligent considerate people within the starcraft two scene.

i hate how we're settling for "just fine". Why shouldn't we put all our effort into making sc2 as good as possible? instead of settling for "just fine". Maybe I just have high expectations for a company coming from bw and wc3.

Hit the nail on the head. Blizzard need to wake up and fix the game or just come out and say they don't give a shit which is what it seriously looks like at the moment.

Yea and that's why EA doesnt put out competitive worthy games. Remember BF3?

People that made BW are not the people that made sc2. What does it mean "we should put all our efforts into making sc2 as good as possible? It's up to blizzard to make a good game,if they fail from the ground up no one else can help it. Just ignore the game and spend your time in a better way if you don't enjoy sc2,you don't owe it anything. Despite what everyone is saying, the best way to show a company that it's doing a shit job is abandoning their product and not give them money.
