I'm just curious on how next Proleague will be. It's Proleague that really matters for the KeSPA teams anyway. OSL second, GSL third (if this deal holds) and then foreign events. GSTL is non-existent for them.

I'm really happy for all of the players. They seemed quite excited to get a shot at playing in the GSL and I really think they'll bring us great games. In WCS they were positive against GSL players, and the Kespa players have really come a long way in SC2 since Anaheim.

Well I'm glad to see all of that get resolved. Rather surprised by 2 Code S seeds for KeSPA players, and 4 Code A seeds, but I suppose the KeSPA players did show some good games at WCS Kr.

Less rivalry, more competition!

I don't understand the "KEspa send 90 players"
Why the hell Kespa would send anyone, just let those who can play, play. Kespa sending players sounds like the players can be chosen with arbitrary criteria.

edit : good news anyway

Yeah this is what I just can't get. Why does KeSPA have to send "0", "90" or any fixed amount of players. Just send the ones who want to compete. How hard a concept is that for them to grasp?

What proffesional sport functions this way? Be it Messi/Rooney/Cristiano Ronaldo - everyone must play if their coach/manager tells them so. Why would it be different in sc2?

Because KeSPA isn't their coach or team manager. It would be as if the (inter?)national soccer association told Messi to play, regardless of what he, his team OR his coach wanted. They simply don't have control over that sort of thing.

Plus the original issue was the opposite, perfectly good players being forced not to play, despite wanting to, which is even more unusual.

EDIT: To clarify, I know nothing about soccer so if I just used a really stupid analogy I'm sorry *shot*

its more like tennis no soccer, and tennisplayer can choose where to play no matter what team they play in or for what organisation

Seeing how generous they have been with seeds to foreigners, I am not the least surprised. Worst case they will drop down, no biggie. For sure flash and jaedong in code S will generate more viewers than any other current up/down player.

I do hope they don't keep up that level of seeding for every GSL season and that it's just for this, because that is a lot of slots to just give away for free, Kespa players should have to earn their spot no matter their history.

there is always 2 code S spots, regardless of what, while code A spots are usually non existant and 2 up&down spots ( for the losers of code A ro2 and ro3 to advance straight to code S)

Common sense has prevailed.
Not sure why it required a couple of rounds of blackmail and bluff.

Exercising your bargaining power is not blackmailing. ESF had to do this to teach Kespa that it can't keep doing this kind of crap.
You should not have to pay to watch the GSL, Proleague, or OSL at a reasonable time. That is not "fine" and it's BS to say otherwise. My sig since 2011. http://www.youtube.com/user/dabom88

Curious how this would unfold when ESF has no leverage at all.

eSF has some good leverage - sadly you could call it a double edge sword - there fore hey don't like to use it too much.
Its the second time they used it. First being NASL.

Yes but their leverage this time was ruining a tournament that is still taking place. Next time it would be simple for Kespa to not invite ESF players and have no worry of participating in the GSL.

Then that would probably lead to fewer viewers since you're closing off the tournament to a lot of the best players in the game who have been playing the game the longest. It's probably not in their best interests to exclude ESF players.

But if worst comes to worst, then this would be the one time I would be thankful for Blizzard's b.net system in place, since Blizzard probably wont let Kespa get away with blatantly unethical crap.
