Kespa does not have a good track record. Its not on ESF to hold to their word. Kespa broke the agreement that they would play. They have done this in the past, they have a bad track record of doing so. ESF should continue to boycott untill Kespa plays. Otherwise, Kespa will do this same exact shit in 3 months, dont you see that? 2. GOM can survive in KR just fine i think. The majority of their money is foreigner money, they might not grow exponentially, but they wont shut down. 3. Kespa needs to be pushed around, when they aren't pushed around they do a bunch of shit, a'la the bw scene. We dont want sc2 to become the next bw scene. Get it?

Why don't the Kespa players not simply all move to Gom after their current contracts end? There's nothing Kespa can do about that.

I just thought that the OP listed the teams that were included in ESF and so i didn't understand why nestea was there and not a coach for each team. Maybe it "strucks your mind" but there are subtilities that i don't understand. A representative is like a leader. Nestea is like the leader of the players so he signs it on behalf of ALL the players. no a representative isnt like a leader. He is the one that presents the decisions made by a council or other organization. Representatives function as the "face" of this organization or council.

I think they already said that they would allow foreigners to participate in the OSL provided if they have a progamer license from KeSPA. If that happens, won't they also be restricted to the tournaments that they can participate (ie. KeSPA-sanctioned tournaments/KeSPA's partner's tournaments)? It's going to do nothing but segregate the competition in SC.

Everything is just so cheap over there =( Please, explain why OGN ? They are way bigger than GOM. Like way bigger. I think you guys overestimate the power of the foreigner viewers. I mean sure, on a good day we can maybe pull off 100k concurrent viewers but that's nothing compare to what OGN can pull off. They are a TV channel, and TV > stream. And they have an established fanbase already. I mean, they have been doing E-Sports for over 12 years. Would a smart TV channel not want both ? Why would they make these deals with MLG and GOM ? They want what they have + what they can get from foreign soil. The foreign viewers would be a nice added bonus. (proberly not a must, depending on how populair Sc2 is in Korea) You answered it for me, we are most likely just a bonus to them. They might want both, but they don't need both. And I haven't read about the deals with MLG and GOM so I don't know anything about that ![]()

Any insight would be much appreciated as I really want to believe that KeSPA is not doing this out of a gamble for market share. If KeSPA is really worried about the situation in which one of the "KeSPA-players" would have to choose between a default loss in OSL in order to participate in his GSL match or a default loss in GSL in order to be able to play his OSL match and there is no way in hell to resolve the scheduling issue then every "non-KeSPA-player" faces the same potential issue. Therefore, assuming that there really is a potential conflict for players participating in both leagues (i.e. GSL & OGN matches at the same day and the same time), the reasoning of KeSPA to pull out of GSL4 qualifiers equivalently holds true for any player who deliberately decided to pull out of OSL (at least for this season). Now, if I accept the reasoning behind KeSPA´s decision to pull "their" players out of GSL4 then on the same token I have to accept the decision of eSF to pull "their" guys out of OSL this season. Following this logic I would expect to see neither of the two parties back down for the upcoming season as long as the scheduling issue is not resolved. The best (only?) thing to would be to "pick up the phone" and reschedule the problematic matches so that is reason for this mess is resolved. On a personal note: Whether it was a hardline commercial decision by KeSPA or out of honest concern due to an unresolvable (and here I assume both KeSPA & GOM actually do try their best to resolve this) scheduling issue, eSF should stay out of OSL. If the latter is true then in order to set incentives to harmonize schedules for next season and in the other case to establish the industry standard that hardline policy is more harmful for every involved party than cooperation. And I say this as an economist looking at the long term. As a SC-fan I would like to see the scheduling issue resolved by Monday and a full blown OSL next to a full blown GSL as a result. The play offs begin on 1 September, and the preliminaries are on 5, 6 September, and they feel that it'd be really stressful for the teams and players. This is an important time for the players to produce results after the four months of dual tournament, and it's also the last Starcraft 1 tournament, so they want to have a perfect ending. As to why they are able to play in WCS and WCG, those are relatively short tournaments, being about one month. Though some parts may clash, it doesn't really affect the quality of SPL and there's already an understanding with the SPL teams. As for GSL, it's a 2-3 month tournament, and there's a link from one season to another, and so it's not an easy situation. bw fans never cease to amaze gom has done everything they can to accomadate scheduling issues, and even attempted to give kespa code s seeds, up and down seeds, and code a seeds. gom did everything they could, and it still wasn't enough. esf stepped in, and i hope to god they stay strong and keep boycotting till the first kespa player joins the qualifiers THIS COULD HAVE BEEN SO FUCKING EZ KESPA. source for the seeds that you are talking about?
