Its not Gom's decision. Its ESF, dafuq you been reading? Gom was not involved in this decision.

The very teams that compose ESF are the heart and soul of GOM. While it's true that GOM isn't part of this on paper, they are in spirit. It's the same thing that people were saying with Kespa about not watching OSL. OSL is run by OGN, not Kespa. They can do that there, I can do this here.

GOM just hosts a tournament, they have no power over what the other teams or players does, they have no power whatsoever. stop spreading misinformation.

Lol

Troll post?

If its from Talin, BLinD-RawR or Dakure you can expect 2 things. Trolling or insane bias.

Hope this helped with following the thread

You are just trying to be a white knight without even knowing what your weapons are. Gom is not ESF. Gom did not prevent ESF players from attending, ESF players CHOSE not to attend. Kespa forbid kespa teams from joining. Which part do you not understand?

could ppl just stop distinguishing GOM and ESF? ESF acts for GOM's interest. In other words, this has everything to do with GOM's product aka GSL

if kespa didnt make the first move this wouldnt have happened in the first place, this is fighting fire with fire, and obviosly kespa is in the wrong, with so much support on esf's side i dont see how kespa wont have the short end of the stick

you're reacting emotionally instead of logically. ESF had no other choice.

its a bit of both, ESF could have had its teams decline any sort of invitation to play in the next season of proleague instead, the point is that the action made was quite rash.

We can both hope that both sides come together and solve their crap swiftly and the OSL can be fine.

Not worried about SC2 blowing up as Blizzard would actively say STFU and talk them out of it; If it came down to that. KeSPA is just an idiot organization when it comes to exclusively using their players. KeSPA needs to learn about expanding its players outward, not "kidnapping" them to protect their players. 56% win rate vs Gom players means Good to Go.

Would have lost alot of power by waiting for the next season.

By pulling out mid season they have OGN putting pressure on KeSPA to make it work.

Keep in mind that there's a historical context to this. Kespa screwed over GOM in BW as well.

Do some research and tell me when KeSPA actually gave a fuck to what Blizzard thinks or who Blizzard gives broadcasting rights to. KeSPA has the support of Korean government (it's unreasonable to think otherwise, without that how could KeSPA take on Blizzard this well?), GOM does not. KeSPA can make an OSL just as good without ESF players. Hell, even GOM can make a GSL without KeSPA players. Why can't KeSPA make an OSL without ESF players? How many ESF players played in the previous OSLs? The answer is as you know, zero. All current ESF players that happened to have played in any OSL was a KeSPA player back then, so they don't count.

This isn't Brood War, if Blizzard doesn't allow them to broadcast sc2 they can't because Blizzard properly secured the IP rights this time. They can use a hacked LAN version but Blizzard could sue them for that.

again kespa didn't want their players to take part in qualifiers, ESF retorts by pulling their players off from the middle of the tournment.

Yeah it's incredibly rash and COULD be incredibly stupid, but it forces KeSPA to pay serious attention, and pay attention immediately, rather than just waving their hand and not caring. It's a political statement in part, for sure.

.... Did you stop to think that maybe eSF - a players organization - saw that players under KeSPA were having their rights stepped on(KeSPA makes all their decisions for them) and wanted to force a change?

It's not very often that an opportunity presents itself to force an organization of KeSPA's scale make changes like this.

The fact that Blizz issued a response to KeSPA's decision makes me think they're watching this pretty closely. If they intend to intervene, I hope they do so before this spirals out of control.

I don't have a source but this has been discussed many times, the #1 reason for no LAN in Starcraft 2 is so Blizzard can stop any event from running that they don't approve of by blacklisting them on battle.net.
